    La Cesnerie is a 300 year old stone cottage on the brow of one of the many hills in the Haute Mayenne. Only 50 minutes drive from Le Mans, 30 minutes from Alencon, 10 minutes from the Alpes Mancelles and one of France’s most beautiful villages St. Ceneri le Gerei. We are also perfectly postioned for anyone travelling to see the Le Mans 24 Hours Race or the Le Mans Moto GP. Inside our decor is 'contemporary country cottage' that is un-fussy and relaxing. We are about 2 & a half hours from a number of English Channel ports and the beaches of the Normandy landings. Travelling further south? we are an ideal stop-over point.     • Cancellations: 2 months or more before arrival date: deposit refunded less 20€ handling charge. 8 days or more before arrival date: 50% of total price, minimum 30€ per room. 7 days or fewer before arrival date, non-arrival or visit cut short: 100% of total price. Cancellation fees are payable regardless of whether a deposit has been paid and whatever the reason for cancellation.

      LOCATION: We are in the Pays de la Loire close to the northern border with Normandy, near the village of Averton. Driving times for the ferry ports of Dieppe, Caen & Le Havre 2hrs 45mins; Cherbourg 3 hrs; Calais 3hrs 30mins. Le Mans 50 minutes, Alencon 30 minutes, Mayenne 30 minutes, The Loire Valley & Saumur 1hr 45min.   DIRECTIONS: Travelling south on the A28, leave at exit 20 and drive to Sille le Guillaume, drive to Fresnay sur Sarthe, drive to Souge le Ganelon and continue on through St Paul le Gualtier on the D15, this becomes the D119 as it enters the Mayenne, turn right on the D268 towards Gesvres, and then take the 1st right to La Cesnerie.  GOOGLE MAPS: To find us on Google Map type in St. Aubin du Desert, Pays de la Loire, France. Or follow this link maps.google.co.uk/maps?ll48.325527,-0.179837&spn0.00789,0.018947&z16 We are well outside the village of St. Aubin on the other side of the D119 on the D268 which is the road that drops down into the Foret de Pail and takes you towards Gesvres.

    • Directions to property:
      Tours is our nearest local airport and you can fly there from London Stansted with Ryanair. From Tours take the autoroute (freeway) A28 north and get off at exit 20 thereafter follow our directions above. Distance from Tours to our house 120 miles. However, we are only an hour and a half from Paris so for international visitors that is the best airport to fly into then either drive or get the high speed train to Le Mans. From Paris you need to get onto the N12 to Dreux then continue on the N12 to Alencon, pick up the autoroute A28 going south and get off on exit 20 then follow directions for above. Charles de Gualle to our house distance is 200 miles.
