Situated in a quiet road near the centre of Quarante, 'The Belvedere' opened its doors to the public in late 2009 after 5 years of total renovation of the 18th Century building. Situated on a hill surrounded by the vineyards of Languedoc Roussillon, the largest wine-producing region in the world, and with views south to the Pyrenees and north to the ‘Montagne Noire’. Quarante is 20mins by car to Beziers, Narbonne and St Chinian. The Canal du Midi is a short walk or bicycle ride away. The region was extensively developed by the Romans and is noted for their legacy. The 'Via Domitia' being just one example.

From Montpellier on the A9 southbound. Take exit 36 toward Castres/Mazamet/Saint-Pons/Vendres/Beziers-Ouest. Through the Road Toll and at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto D64, After 4.4 km take the D11 ramp to Montady/Capestang/Colombiers. Turn left onto Route de Capestang/D11. Continue to follow D11, through Capestang. 2.3 km after Capestang, turn right onto D184. Enter Quarante and continue on Av. du Château. At Bar40, turn right onto Av. de la Promenade, at the top of the street turn left into Rue St Jean. The Belvedere is 50 meters on your left.
