    Montolieu is ideally situated just 15 km from Carcassonne and easily accessible by car. Maison Rives dates back to before the French Revolution and has a history as fascinating as Montolieu itself, which is known throughout France and Europe as 'the book village'. Whether your stay with us is for just one night, or longer, you can be assured of a warm, friendly welcome, a good night's sleep in one of our three comfortable and spacious room and a breakfast with organic and homemade products. Montolieu is the ideal base for exploring Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi and all the famous surrounding area. Nathalie and Stéphane, the owner, have also nearby Maison Rives : the bookshop "Ailleurs" and the "Salon d'Ici", restaurant-salon de thé. All our rooms have private en-suite shower rooms. The furnishings in all the rooms compliment perfectly the natural light pouring through the windows. Whether your view is over the bridge and the Alzeau Gorge or down the quiet Gardenstreet, all our rooms are spacious, light and airy. Enjoy breakfast or dinner downstairs in the salon, where we can help you plan your day or find your way if you wish. Internet connection is available for free. We also propose diner and organise thematic courses : - Innovative cooking classes with regional, organic produce with Nathalie - Walks and initiation in photography also with Nathalie (she publish Fotobook of the region) - Training in calligraphy with Stéphane in his bookshop Families with children are welcome. Each of our rooms has space for an extra bed(s) - supplement payable. Parking is easily accessible.

    Staying at Maison Rives is a delight. From the moment you arrive, Cathy Gay makes you feel right at home. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and exceptionally well taken care of. Cathy's knowledge of the area, her willingness to go above and beyond for her guests, and her warm inviting nature made our stay in Montolieu exceptional. I would recommend Maison Rives and Cathy Gay without question!

    A wonderful and welcoming stay

    My husband and I and our adult daughter stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay immensely. Cathy was a very friendly and charming hostess and provided a lovely continental breakfast which more than met our needs. Both the rooms were lovely and the beds very marvellous, as were the showers.     fantastic B&B

    Maison Rives was a fantastic place to stay. The room with the balcony was lovely. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast every morning was delicious with a great choice of food. Cathy was a fantastic host and couldnt have done any more to make our stay any more perfect. We can't wait to go and stay again.

    Delightful B&B in a picturesque Languedoc village

    A delightfully cozy, spacious, and immaculately clean B&B. Cathy is a wonderful hostess and attentive innkeeper. Her B&B is a home away from home. The village - perched high amongst steeped wooded hills - is really picturesque and charming, too. There are well-over a dozen bookshops to visit during the day. We loved our stay with Cathy and highly recommend her B&B!
