Cynthia and Rich provide a great experience from reception through dining. The accommodations are very nice and Rich is a chef of the first degree. Breakfasts were a real treat and he shared is extensive knowledge of the Walla Walla wine scene. We were able to optimize our limited touring time to the bet of the best. We traveled with friends and were able to enjoy a bottle of wine we brought in from our tours in the courtyard. Wine, sun, friends, great surroundings; what could be better.

We had a great time in Walla Walla and really loved staying at the Fat Duck Innn! Great people, great food and we got a lot of information about the local wineries, which helped decide where to go. We will definitely stay there again on our return to Walla Walla!

We stayed two nights in The Merganser King Suite, a lovely clean room, with mini fridge, robes, added A/C, a sitting area and a clean nice bathroom. The hosts Cynthia and Rich are the loveliest folks! We felt extremely welcome and enjoyed chatting with them. Breakfast is AMAZING. Rich makes these wonderful frittatas in small ramekins and typically I don't eat egg yolks but devoured my breakfast both mornings. Also the second morning he remembered both of our food allergies (Me: no stone fruits, Him: no gluten) and made up our plates accordingly. Wonderful local and sustainable produce, the fruit was excellent. It's a great location, an easy 5 minute walk to downtown. Cynthia and Rich were very helpful in giving us recommendations on places to visit. We really enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Walla Walla. Cozy, friendly, delicious breakfast and close to downtown... it doesn't get any better than this! Thank you Rich and Cynthia!

Our second time to the Fat Duck, new owners very hospitable, warm and friendly. A very relaxing place to meet other guests or read and rest by yourself. Quiet rooms. Close to down town. Owners very flexible at meeting your needs. T Hoyme, Spokane

We stayed in the Pintail Suite and loved it. The breakfasts were super good and Cynthia and Rich are just amazing hosts. We felt very comfortable here and had several great conversations with the owners and other guests. Everyone seemed very friendly. We really hated to leave!!

Warm-hearted hosts, Cynthia and Rich, made me feel like the inn was my own home in Walla Walla. A lovely place to stay in the charming town. So walkable and bikeable to shops and wine tastings. And Executive Chef Rich certainly fed me well!

We had a wonderful weekend experience at the Fat Duck! We spontaneously decided to travel from Portland to meet some Seattle friends to celebrate a birthday and couldn't have been more happy with the trip. The Fat Duck made wonderful accommodations for our little group and were so welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable and affordable, the breakfast was delicious, the winery recommendations were spot on, and the downtown tasting rooms were within walking distance. I'm already excited for our next trip!

We booked this last minute the day before leaving for Walla Walla when there were few options available. Despite the expectations of what we might find with a last minute booking, we were pleasantly surprised by everything. The staff was very friendly (Richard and Maria) and went out of their way to ensure we were pleased. I'd definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at Fat Duck Inn for our 15th anniversary. It was way better than I imagined! The room was amazing. Alexa,the owner, was very polite and funny. She changed my menu for me at dinner since I don not eat what was being served. The breakfast was so good. The 5 course dinner was too good for words. Mike Corliss was the wine maker who dined with us and that was such a treat. I can't say enough nice things about this Inn. Go, you will be so happy you did.

My husband, son, and I so enjoyed our stay in Walla Walla at the Fat Duck Inn. The location was great. We walked to the college and downtown. Didn't need a car. We loved our suite upstairs, and the breakfasts were healthy, delicious, and hardy. We highly recommend the Fat Duck Inn for any families visiting Whitman College.

This Inn was fully remodeled and beautiful inside & out. The flowers were just beginning to bloom but still very nice. There was a wonderful outside patio for relaxing with a glass of wine. Meet the Innkeeper Alexa upon arrival and she was very inviting. She showed us around and gave us a couple of tips for dinner. Downtown is only a few blocks away with many wine tasting rooms, restaurants, and shops. (Note: a lot of the restaurants are closed on Sun or Mon). So Plan you lunch/dinners accordingly We (Hubby & I) stayed in the Loon Room which was bright and cheerful. One of the smaller rooms and without a bathroom in the room (Bathroom is across the Hall). Due to it's size of the room, the bed was very cozy. Since the Innkeepers at not on the property we e-mailed them with a few recommendations/comments about our stay. Recommendations/Comments were: Air Vent in the Loon Room is right above the bed. So each morning we woke to dry throats. Suggested a vent redirect be placed on it to blow the air across the room. Bathroom across the Hall was not a big issue until the second day of our visit. We returned to the Inn (only people in the Inn that night) to find that someone had used our bath to get sick in and didn't clean up the mess. Breakfast also came up in our comments. The first morning (Inn was full) we woke to the smell of wonderful things cooking in the kitchen. Breakfast is served Buffet Style. Buffet was fruit, quiche, apple bread pudding, rolls, cereal / yogurt and juice, coffee and milk. Our comments came on the second day when we were served the LEFTOVERS from the day before. Quiche was well well done and it was not the best way to start the day! Overall - We would go back to Fat Duck Inn. Enjoyed the visit and the Inn only hope that our comments were received and some changes made.

The rooms at the Fat Duck Inn are some of the nicest you'll come across in the world of B+B - spacious, well-lit, great beds sheets, big nice bathrooms with good water pressure. The Inn itself is also quite nice on a quiet street within walking distance of downtown Walla Walla. The Innkeepers do not live on-site which gives the place more of an Inn feel. They might do a great dinner and catering - we didn't try either. However, the breakfast is very mediocre. Maybe my expectations were too high - but cold cereal, a thin so-so quiche, some fruit and some very hard bread (with a great jelly selection) was not as exciting as what I have at my house every morning. There wasn't enough food for the guests who were there and nothing about it was special. So, if you want a very nice Inn in a great location with light snacks for breakfast - go for it.

The breakfast, I wish, was forgettable, but it was so bad and the same both days, we can not forget it. Knowing that our host was a Chef, we expected more than boxed baked goods and a tepid, thin, dry quiche. Nothing appeared to be home made. I was wrong to think that a "chef owned" B&B that serves a buffet style breakfast would have cared about the food. The hosts do not live on-site. The rooms and linens are nice. The house and landscaping are nice. The service is the worst I've seen and if they are interested in only serving dinner, they should do that and leave the breakfast out of the experience.

We stayed one night and the food was absolutely the best we had ever eaten, the massage was awesome, and the owners were delightful! We loved our stay!

We stayed two evenings in one of the guest houses. Key concerns were: The gourmet dinner entre was poor. The owners had booked a catering event, were late in serving and ran out of the pork tenderloin. Rather than explain that, they attempted to serve a mixture of pork tenderloin and salt pork
