They appeared slightly short staffed. Our room did not get serviced on the second day, a minor thing really since we reuse our towels and the room was very clean to begin with. Breakfast on the second day was a little late to get set up but worth the wait. The rooms are clean and well appointed, staff very friendly, and the food delicious. We ate dinner here as well. A beautiful and serene setting make for a relaxing, enjoyable stay.

My wife and I stayed at the Freestone Inn for three nights, had breakfast there on three occasions and ate dinner there once. We found the inn to be spacious, nicely decorated and relaxing, and to be located in a truly beautiful, natural setting. Our room in the inn (#8) was large and well appointed with a balcony overlooking the pond. The king bed was quite comfortable and the amenities were as described in the inn's literature. Breakfasts were ample and offerings were varied. Dinner was a 4/5 star experience if slightly overpriced, but it would be hard (or impossible) to do as well elsewhere in Mazama or Winthrop. We were well satisfied with the restaurant and we are decidedly "foodies." All of the service staff were helpful as we planned hikes (thank you, Wendy) or made simple requests. The guests were friendly, too, and we had a nice time meeting people from all over the country. Should we be anywhere near Mazama again we will definitely look to the Freestone Inn for lodging. Highly recommended.

Our family has been staying at the Freestone Inn for a number of years. Relatively new innkeepers and Jack's Hut Hosts, Kerry & David have done a wonderful job of carrying on traditions, restoring and sharing their piece of paradise with guests. After 30 years of camping on our Methow riverfront spot, the pleasures of a comfy cabin bed and cool off swim in a pool have been a joy! Just the right amount of seclusion or inclusion with poolside drinks and great dining; hikes up Lost River; Mazama Country Store; and BBQing a quiet dinner on cabin decks with our favorite dog by our side. Any season is a great time to visit the Methow and the Freestone will always be our go to treat. Great place, people and service. Always!

The staff, location, facility, and dining were outstanding. It is definitely on my repeat list.

Even when the fires were happening in Twisp and in Winthrop, our stay in the cabins at Freestone Inn were air conditioned and delightful! Our dog played in the river, we woke to the bubble of water over rocks, and we biked, hiked, and swam each day. Who could ask for more! We will definitely return to this gem of a place!

We had another wonderful stay in one of the 2 bedroom cabins that provided us the independence we were looking for with our own kitchen and deck yet within close proximity to the lodge amenities - pool, hot tub, lake, biking and exceptional dining. Our family continues to visit multiple times a year, creating strong memories.

Freestone Inn is a beautiful lodge in a gorgeous setting and feels like it could be an upscale resort but some of the restaurant staff seem snooty and that takes away from the luxury experience. A guest wants to feel welcomed and wanted, not like you're doing them a favor to let them eat with you. Food is okay but overpriced. My suggestion: stay at the lodge, enjoy the grounds, and eat at Jack's Hut where the staff are more friendly and the food is just as good.

It had been years since we had been to the resort. Still just as beautiful as ever and grounds and inn were well maintained. Rooms are spacious and well appointed but VERY dark. There were critters running in our ceiling at night (assumed it was the cute chipmunks from the porch). Nothing too disruptive, and probably hard to keep them at bay. Had an excellent dinner 2nd night there. Continental breakfast was lackluster and not hosted in any way so couldn't find salt and pepper, oatmeal was cold, etc. Staff overall was disinterested and sparse. Housekeeping did not come to clean our room till after 4pm. The pool was beautiful but could have used a cleaning (also super chilly) and the bathroom off of the pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. We ordered lunch at Jack's Hut and it was tasty but there was no menu describing the offering. We went to get a latte at Jack's Hut last morning there and it was closed. This resort is really special with so many great activities to do on site. Would love to see it busier, with more energy, and a more engaging staff. We'll be back to stay in a cabin with the kids.

Spent 3 nights with a very friendly staff. Great balconey's for evening lounging overlooking the lake. Incredible chef who accommodated my wife's food allergies without hesitation.

We drove over the pass and stayed in a studio cabin for our anniversary. The staff was very gracious and pushed back our dinner reservation without any issues. The cabin was clean comfortable and modern. The next morning they recommended a great spot for breakfast and a gas station nearby. It was perfect.
