We spent a wonderful, snowy weekend in the Christopher Wren room at The Cedars. We love bed and breakfast experiences because they are each such unique treasures with personal touches one doesn't find in a hotel, and the Cedars exemplifies this quality. Bob was a fantastic host with Dad-jokes aplenty (including the ambush photo session of spectacularly cheesy portraits I am saving for an appropriately embarrassing future date) and made our experience a real treat. Our room was beautifully appointed with an uncommonly comfortable king bed and homey, functional furnishings. Breakfast was outstanding both mornings and Bob bent over backwards to prepare vegetarian fare especially for me. The location was great and highly convenient to CW and William and Mary. The rooms do not include TVs, which we personally really appreciated, and the free wifi is strong enough to stream movies on a laptop if one so desires. I would recommend the Cedars to anyone looking for a weekend away, accommodations for a visit to William and Mary (fantastic for a parent weekend or admissions tours!), or a comfortable place to stay on business.

Bob met us at the door, showed us around the premises. He was very helpful with any of our questions, offering info on activities in the area, as well as possible places to eat. Breakfast was fabulous, a gourmet delight! He was most accommodating when my husband's sister asked to visit us there for a couple of hours( lives in area). He and Grace could not do enough for us. We will be back!

Located across the street from the William & Mary campus, it offers quiet, comfortable amenities, with a staff and owners personally focused on providing you a first-rate B & B experience. We have stayed in many B&B's in our travels and we think you should consider the Cedars if you visit the Williamsburg area. The homey touches included a Christmas tree in our rom, and a lit fireplace when we arrived. Nice place, attentive hosts and a very short walk to the historic area.

I've never before slept in a bed I had to actually climb into, but that's what I did here. The rooms were beautifully appointed and the whole house felt like it had gone back in time--except for the modern appliances (the "necessaries"). I took away one star for dining because breakfast is the only meal served, but every day it offered something different and delicious. Delicious cookies in the afternoon and fresh coffee whenever you wanted it (thanks to the Keurig coffeemaker) were most welcome after a day of walking. Be ready to have your picture taken by owner Bob Tubbs--and used in a most charming way.

We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to post this review. They are an important part of our success. They are always great ways to evaluate our guest's experiences. We are happy you enjoyed your Williamsburg visit. With all of the restaurants within walking distance, many want to dine around town. We had consider offering more but we opted for snacks and cookies in the afternoon. We hope you have a wonderful holiday and look forward to a future visit. All the best. Grace & Bob Tubbs & Staff

The Peyton Randolph Room is the first floor bed chamber of the Cottage that reflects Mr. Randolph's love of patriotic simplicity and family coziness. The fireplace, king size bed, day bed, mini-refrigerator, colonial decor, and private bath give this a lovely, romantic and homey feel.
This cozy room has an oriental flair and soft beauty that the First Lady herself would enjoy. The antique four-poster bed, converted to queen size for today's comfort, is the focal point of this quaint, intimate bed chamber. Blue, white and yellow wallpaper and window treatments are rich, warm accents in this comfortable room.
The Patrick Henry Room offers bed chamber that features a fabric backdrop, four post queen bed and large bathroom with a tub and shower.
Christopher Wren, the namesake of this secluded third floor room, would heartily approve of its architectural openness, elegance, and size. Surrounded by beautifully adorned windows on three sides, this, our largest room, is perfect for anniversaries or honeymoons. A king size, four poster bed, a dormer window with a window seat and a large bath add to the luxury and romance.
This airy, spacious room is designed as inventively and creatively as if conceived by Mr. Jefferson himself. The queen size bed, window alcove, and two-level bath create a charm that is only enhanced by Williamsburg Yellow woodwork and Delft blue fabrics. An antique writing desk and comfy wing chair complete the colonial picture.
The floor to ceiling floral draperies and the fishnet-canopied, four poster queen size bed in this lovely room provides a glimpse of 18th century plantation life, and a pastoral respite from the demands of today. This second floor room, white with Apothecary Shop blue trim, overlooks the tops of our cedar trees just outside one of the many windows and offer a wonderful view of our gazebo/gardens.
Fit for a Royal Governor, the Lord Botetourt Room is open, airy, and reminiscent of the King's favor. The corner fireplace, queen size bed, angled dormers and small library with sitting area invite relaxation and escape.
King William, renowned for his taste and elegance, influenced the plush layout of our King William room. The beige and brown room accents, with four-posted bed, is awash with the day's bright sunshine.
Bask in the grace and sophisticated charm of our George Washington room. On the first floor, the high ceilings of this large, elegant suite are enhanced with a queen size, carved mahogany, canopied bed and an antique armoire. The windowed parlor floods the room with warm afternoon sunlight, providing the perfect spot to curl up after a day of adventure and fun.
Our two bedroom suite is the perfect accommodation for a family. The bath separates one room with a queen size, four poster bed from the other twin-bed room. Occupying half of our second floor, this room arrangement offers both the togetherness of colonial tavern lodging and the privacy desired by today's 21st century traveler. Sleeps four comfortably.
This stately room is richly appointed with an antique highboy, regal striped draperies, and bed stairs to help you climb into the elegant, four poster, king size bed. As you begin your exploration of colonial America, the decor of this bed chamber will help you experience the excitement and enthusiasm of our new nation.
Perfect for a gathering of friends or family, the Cedars Cottage is ideal for couples traveling together or families with children. Both Cottage rooms (Lord Botetourt & Peyton Randolph) can be linked for socializing, comfort and closeness during the day while offering quiet privacy at night. The Peyton Randolph (downstairs) has a large king size bed and daybed. The Lord Bortetourt (upstairs) has a queen, sitting area and library. Both with fireplaces. The cottage offers two cozy, separate rooms in one. Each with their own bathroom.
Queen Mary, a mother herself, often traveled with children and a chamber maid. This room is perfect for traveling companions wanting their own bed and pillow...no wrestling for the blankets. Reserve just the Queen Mary or see about our King William and Queen Mary Suite (two room suite)...a connecting bath makes this suite perfect for couples or families traveling together.
