This is the way B&Bs should be

We stayed in Williamsburg for two nights at the Bentley Manor Inn. It's located a couple of blocks NW of the William and Mary Tribe's football field on a street that affords you a lot of peace and quiet. It's about a mile walk to the Colonial Village, which is good for a little bit of exercise and calorie burning. The B&B is owned by a very friendly couple who made us feel welcome from the moment we got out of the car. Our room was comfortable with period furniture. We had a large private bathroom. Breakfasts were sumptuous with several food options. All guests eat at a single table in the dining room enabling and encouraging conversation. We learned a lot info about the Village, restaurants, sights to see, etc. The rates are very reasonable, too. Depending on the rating service, The Bentley Manor Inn rates No. 1 through No. 5 in Williamsburg. They are number one in our book! Thanks for the lovely visit, Jane and Fred.

Wonderful Experience!!

Just returned from staying a few days at Bentley Manor. The hosts are really, really nice people and helped to fill us in on a lot of the history of Williamsburg and gave advice on the "don't miss" sites. The house and rooms were much better than we expected and made the entire experience a joy. One of the best relaxing vacations we've had in years. Highly recommend and we plan on staying again in the near future.

Convenient, Cozy, Cheerful

The Garland's home is a perfect base for a trip to Williamsburg. It is pleasant walk to the historic district or the campus. We planned a quick trip just to see the holiday decorations which turned into a special experience. Fred and Jane decorate their home beautifully and they provide a wonderful breakfast. They were not responsible for the beautiful snow that turned the Duke of Gloucester Street into a wonderland. However, if you wanted snow to make your visit special, I'm sure they would try to accommodate your need.

Very hard to leave the hospitality

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending five nights at this wonderful B&B. Jane and Fred are not your typical guesthouse owners, they really do make you feel welcome and at home. Kudos must be given for the exemplorary attention to detail throughout the house, from the fine linens to the wonderful ever changing home cooked, to order, breakfasts prepared by Jane. Nothing is too much trouble for either of these hosts, Fred, who has a great sense of humor, is a well of information about the locale, dining, transportation etc, etc,. Exceeded all our expectations,

Elegant & Quiet

This B&B is located about a 15 minute walk to Colonial Williamsburg museum. Off the main drag, it is quiet and has been beautifully renovated by the current owners. Fred and Jane have been in the hospitality business a long time and their experience shows in their attention to detain and the friendly, relaxed atmosphere they have created. Although recent transplants, the innkeepers are well versed in local attractions and transportation options. A car is not necessary if you are planning to stay within the Yorktown, Jamestown, Williamsburg triangle. I would certainly stay here again. MD - Portsmouth, NH
