5 sur 5Best night's sleep
juillet 09, 2012
The inn keeper has thought of everything. The entire house is beautiful and inviting. You will get the BEST night's sleep as the rooms are so comfortable and the bedding exquisite. The innkeeper is at the ready to assist you in planning your day whether you're staying in or going out (read, watch movies, play games, hike, ski, shop). I can't wait to go back!

After staying at The Governor's mansion for three days & two nights I can recommend with confidence. This inn is a unique opportunity to step into history but enjoy modern conveniences. I was impressed by the attention the innkeeper, Suzanne, paid to the smallest detail to make my stay comfortable & enjoyable. The shelves of movies & selection of books made me want to stay longer than my schedule permitted. My room & bath were very clean, the food was delicious & the views of the mountains were beautiful.
4,6 sur 5Beautiful Inn with Great Atmosphere
janvier 30, 2011
My fiance and I stayed in the English room over a long weekend in January. The inn is beautifully restored and was the perfect spot for a winter weekend escape. The breakfast was delicious, especially the muffins (the innkeeper was kind of enough to pack up extras for our long drive home). The inn's library was a great spot to sip wine and relax after two days of skiing at both Stowe and Smugglers Notch. We look forward to returning again soon.
5 sur 5My daughter's wedding
août 29, 2010
My daughter had her wedding and reception here for a small group of family and friends. Everything was perfect and the host, Suzanne Boden, was most helpful to my daughter in planning and execution of her special day. A wonderful inn, elegant and historic. The dinner was delicious.

5 out of 5Beautiful and charming
décembre 31, 2009
I love this place. I've been there twice, once with my parents and once with my girlfriend, and it was great both times. It's in a beautiful part of Vermont, and the house itself is gorgeous too. All the rooms are big and stocked with bathrobes and amenities more like a hotel than a B&B. And the innkeeper is very attentive - she even brought us tea in our room when we checked in. Definitely hope to make it back there again.
5 out of 5for a great romantic weekend
décembre 20, 2009
I loved the charm of the rooms in this inn. It was clear that the innkeeper poured her creative energy into them and added special touches to each one. The bed was so wide and comfortable, my husband and I never wanted to leave it! We had delicious meals served to us and had a vast library of books, games and movies to keep us entertained, as well as nearby nature trails. The innkeeper paid us special attention that is so far unmatched by other b and b's I've stayed in. If you're pulling through Vermont this luxurious and cozy inn is definitely worth a stop.

I always go the bed and breakfast route when traveling and the Governor's House is a great find! It has the coziness of a b&b but the cleanliness and quality of a hotel. From the rooms to the food, no detail has been ignored, which makes for a very pampered experience. The Governor's House really made an impression on me and I will definitely come back.
4,8 out of 5Perfect!

Perfect! I’ve stayed in many bed and breakfasts and this one has been by far the most enjoyable. The house itself is great – beautiful, clean, and cozy. But what really makes the the place stand out is the hospitality itself. The woman who runs it was extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, the food was delicious. We were served breakfast in bed and ice cream at night, she helped us pick out movies and had all the inside knowledge of the best places to ski nearby and even offered afternoon tea. We came to ski but were tempted to spend much of the trip inside. I cannot speak highly enough about the governors house!

Literary Weekend
Celebrate the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice with a weekend of literary-inspired activities in a lovely old mansion where Jane herself would have left at home. Attend a talk about the Regency period. Join a book discussion over dinner. Test your knowledge of Jane Austen, and her books and possibly take home a prize. Try letter writing with a quill pen. Take a carriage or sleigh ride. For the gentleman there are riding and fly fishing as well as lots of more modern diversions if a whole weekend of Jane is not his cup of tea. Join every activity or simply indulge yourself quietly all weekend watching the movies. Dress in whichever century suits you. Just imagine the interesting conversation with a whole houseful of Jane's readers under one roof. Weekend guests have commented that they wish there had been a tape recorder under the dinner table so they could replay the evening again and again. It won't just be good company; it will be the "company of clever well-informed people who have a great deal of conversation". It will be the best. Weekend rates start at $295 single, $260 pp double, or $235 pp triple including lodging, meals, and all activities.
