The Fullerton Inn is quaint. The room was smaller than it appeared online.

Very comfortable and accommodating. The restaurant was excellent. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. The bath was updated and fresh and well supplied. An excellent value for the money. Staff was friendly and made us feel at home.

First time we stayed here and loved its central location and the seasonal decorations throughout the common areas of the inn. The decor definitely placed us in the holiday spirit. It was the perfect place to get away for a peaceful weekend as it's a short 2 hour drive from our home outside of Albany, New York. The nightly rate was very reasonable, our room was clean, and the innkeepers and staff were very friendly. What more could you ask for. There was even an authentic Scottish pub a short walk from the inn for an evening night cap. We will certainly will be back again. Thank you Brett and Nancy!

We were looking for something in lower Vermont and came across the Inn on the website. I spoke with the Innkeepers and they were extremely friendly and accommodating. The most important feature for me was the NO PET rule. I am highly allergic and have trouble traveling lately, with everyone bringing their pets along on trips. We booked a room with their guidance and it was a lovely experience. The Inn is old and has plenty of charm. Everything was well kept and cozy. We felt very welcome. The breakfast was continental but quite varied. We had many choices of fresh baked goods, juices, cereals, local waffle mix waffles and my favorite the large fresh fruit bowl. We were very pleased with the overall experience and would gladly stay at The Fullerton Inn again.

This place is a home away from home. There was a nice restaurant, warm breakfast, games & books, and room was beautiful. The owners were helpful with finding other places, too.

We ended up at the Fullerton Inn because there was no vacancy in nearby Grafton, VT. We were pleasantly surprised at Fullerton because of how nice it was. Unknowingly we ended up at what our first choice should have been.

Chester native "returned". Worked in this Inn as a High school senior 1950-51. This massive three story structure looks and feels like something that is the center of Chester town. The breakfast is extra great. Not only excellent choice with variety each day but also a chance to chat with other guest from "all-over". Take a drive to Chester Depot and see Flamstead Mountain loaming over the town and Stone Houses on "North Street". Stan Hunsdon

We had a tough time finding rooms in the area that would take us for 1 night only during the Foliage season. The rooms were small but clean. The included breakfast was so-so. The people were very nice that worked at the Inn.

We spent a Valentine's evening at the Fullerton. We discovered the inn while cruising the Chester area during the Summer. For the past several years, our tradition was to celebrate V-Day at the Tavern in Windham just down the road a piece, but thought to "mix it up" this year. The Fullerton, while not nearly as elegant as the Tavern, was simple in its charm and unpretentious in a good way. The location on the on the Green (or Common?) was typically New England and picturesque. The Inn itself was decorated in New England fashion, not overdone or too puritan. The fireplace in the Main Room was beautiful, BUT, with the glaring lights, the area had all the ambiance of a police interrogation, rather than a spot to pitch woo. We moved to the bar area, which has its own fireplace and romantically dimmed lighting. It was quiet until a couple of NASCAR fans arrived, turned on the flat screen (there are no televisions in the rooms) and started pounding Buds. No pitching woo there either. It was time to return to our room. Dining was fairly priced and presentation thoughtful. Staff was attentive, but not intrusive. The wine list was pretty good and had some good values. Being close to many activities, skiing and snowshoeing in particular, make it a good base. We may return, but will try some of the other inns/B&Bs in the area.

My wife and I have stayed at the inn three times in three years and find it a great place to stay for a long weekend in Vermont. We find the inn clean, quiet and the service friendly. We prefer the quaint country inn feeling here to many of the smaller B&B’s we have stayed in, and having a restaurant and tavern attached is a real plus. A fifteen-minute drive to skiing in Ludlow (Okemo), but Chester is more post-card Vermont then Ludlow, and has it’s own attractions in antique shops, art galleries and a few good restaurants and pubs.

Nice place for a night. Continental breakfast was disappointing considering the price of the rooms. Not even as good as a Hampton Inn breakfast. Lunch was outstanding. We didn't have a chance to eat dinner there because they had booked several functions for the same night and there were no tables available.

If you are looking for the homely feeling some B&Bs offer don't go here. Although the building is gorgeous and the food is good, the owners do not put in extra effort to make it a special stay. We had the cheapest rooms and this showed since they were only 130sqft (including the "bathroom") and we could hear our neighbors through the walls.

We traveled up to Fullerton Inn over New Year's (12/30 - 01/02) to do some skiing at Okemo and also to just get out of NYC for the New Year's craziness. Inn keepers were friendly and kept a pristine Inn. Food in the restaurant was better than we expected and enjoyed the Tavern that stocked all the local Vermont beers. Rooms were quaint, but I guess that's what you expect when you stay at an Inn or B&B. The only thing I would change is to maybe offer a hot breakfast. Doesn't even need to be included, but just offered. We were looking forward to at least some eggs and bacon, but they only offer coffee, juice, cereal, bagels, muffins and some fruit. Other than that, everything was great. On the last day of our trip, we drove to Manchester to do some shopping at the outlets, and came across this amazing breakfast place called "Up for Breakfast". It was by far the best breakfast we've ever had which made up for the continental breakfast at the Inn. If you are heading to Manchester for shopping, I suggest you check this place out. I would fully recommend the Fullerton Inn. It's great for couples.

My boyfriend and I came up from NYC to visit The Fullerton Inn and do some skiing. I saw picture of the Inn on their website, but it wasn't until we arrived that I saw just how cute and charming it was! We arrived late at night and were greeted by the friendly innkeeper in their cozy lobby which has a large fireplace. Our room was warm, the bathroom was large and the bed was very comfortable. In the morning we ate their delicious scones, fresh fruit and coffee. After a long day of skiing, it was great to come back and eat the food from their fantastic kitchen! We tried their crab soup, french onion soup, steak and desserts. All were wonderful, and they have a lovely wine list to accompany their menu. One last comment about The Fullerton Inn - Our weekend took and unexpected and unpleasant turn when I twisted my knee skiing. I came back to the Inn on crutches and had to spend the next two days off my feet. The innkeepers were amazingly understanding, sympathetic and accommodating. We were supposed to check out at 11am, but we weren't actually planning to drive back to NYC until 3pm. The innkeepers let me stay in the room until 2pm resting and didn't charge us for an extra day. That's certainly something I NEVER would have expected. Many thanks to The Fullerton Inn for a charming stay, and being so understanding when I needed it most!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Fullerton Inn as we were traveling through the New England states viewing the fall foliage. The Inn was exceptionally clean and quiet. It was a wonderful retreat from noisy hotels and we wish we would have had the opportunity to stay longer. Make sure and visit with the innkeepers regarding the history of the Inn, it made the stay even more enjoyable.
