  • The Emory House is a totally renovated 4500 square foot home in Emory, Virginia, directly across the street from Emory and Henry College and only 7 miles outside the historic town of Abingdon. Our B&B is designed for our guests' total relaxation and enjoyment, both inside and outside the home, with porches, patios, courtyards, firepit seating, as well as elegantly appointed interior rooms.

    Cozy and relaxing!

    My stay at the Emory House B & B was a delightful experience! The innkeeper makes you feel most comfortable, like this is your home away from home. The breakfast was first class and absolutely scrumptious! I will definitely be enjoying the hospitality there again. I highly recommend the Emory House.

    Best decision ever...

    Recently my boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to Abingdon, VA. After searching and searching for the perfect place to stay, I stumbled onto the Emory House Bed & Breakfast. It was the best decision I have ever made (at least as far as choosing where to stay while on vacation). Both Rocky and his wife (the B&B owners) are amazing. From making the reservation, to arriving at the Emory House, to leaving for home...the Underwood's make you feel welcome and at home. Rocky educated us on the house's interesting history, as well as the history of the pioneer cabin that is also situated on the property. They provided lovely, clean accommodations, and assisted in whatever we needed; They are very knowledgeable about the area, good antique shopping in Abingdon, dinner reservations, directions, etc. Also, not only were we cooked an amazing breakfast of brie and apple omelets, yogurt, fresh fruit and granola, bacon, and biscuits, but they were nice enough to leave out cookies and milk, and wine and cheese in the evening. Oh, and I must not forget the hot chocolate with marshmallows in the afternoon. The rooms are comfortable and beautiful, the view of Emory University is delightful, and I'm unable to come up with any criticism for The Emory House. Even the short drive to Abingdon is well worth it (for the record it is only about a 10 min drive). Thanks to the Underwood's we had a fantastic stay and plan to stay with them again on our next visit to the area.
