It's hard to describe how wonderful the Irish Isle Bed & Breakfast was. We've visited Chesapeake three times in the last four years and now that we've stayed at the Irish Isle, we consider the area a home away from home. During our previous visits, we stayed in a hotel which was fine but you cannot compare a hotel to this place. We stayed in the Sports Suite which is a completely separate building from the main house. The Sports Suite is an entire house; with two bathrooms, multiple bedrooms if you need them, a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, a big balcony overlooking a pond with a fountain, a hot-tub, internet, air conditioning, and is superbly decorated. You don't feel like you're staying in a hotel but in a very nice home. The grounds are equally as spectacular. Kathy and Dave have a very large piece of land; they have a barn with three beautiful horses, two ponds with fountains, a massive pool enclosed by a fence with a gorgeous pool house next to it, two lovely dogs and two great cats. If you love pets, you'll love this place and if you miss your pets while you're on vacation, Kathy and Dave's dogs, cats, and horses help with that. Their bed and breakfast is about a 10 minute drive from all kinds of great restaurants but you would think you're half an hour away by how quiet it is. Kathy and Dave are awesome. They made sure every need of ours was taken care of and always asked if we needed anything else. They were so much fun to talk to and hang out with and their graciousness made it almost impossible for us to leave. We're already thinking about our next trip down. After staying at their bed and breakfast, the thought of staying in a hotel feels like it would be a chore. Thanks so much for everything Kathy and Dave! - John & Bianca

My husband and I stayed at the Irish Isle for a birthday getaway this summer. This was our first B&B experience and Dave and Kathy did not disappoint. They both were very friendly, laid back and truly made us feel like their place was ours. We had the whole house to ourselves for the night that we stayed and were able to take a night swim in the pool and get some of the most restful sleep we'd had in awhile. The bedroom was spacious and IMMACULATE and the bed was so comfy. Our morning began with coffee and a walk around the grounds to meet all the horses and a few barn cats, followed by a Sunday Irish breakfast. I have to admit, the breakfast was a little lackluster to us, but we are a bit of food snobs and there was definitely plenty as far as portions go. Overall, we'd recommend this beautiful B&B and would happily return!
