We stayed four nights at The Armstrong Mansion Bed & Breakfast in Salt Lake City. Evenings in SLC were chilly so we decided to stay indoors at night. We brought DVDs to watch. The DVD player didn't work. We reported this to management the next day. That evening at 10pm when we came to our room to relax management comes to our room with a replacement DVD player which didn't work either. There were other emtpy rooms management could have got a working player from, but the management didn't attempt to fix the problem beyond that second night. There was limited selection on the tv. For the expensive room we paid for, the DVD player should have been working. Coffee was so weak every morning we had to go to a coffee shop to get real coffee.

My wife and I came to the Armstrong Mansion to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and while getting away from the kids and enjoying time alone was much needed and accomplished during our stay, the experience left something to be desired. Perhaps if you stay in the June or February rooms, it is nicer and more romantic, but I was disappointed in the price I paid for our stay in the September Woods. It is one of the rooms in the basement (which used to be a meat locker). The bed was very comfortable and the room was quaint, but when I think of what we paid for that room and compare that to other places, where the rooms seem much better themed and fun, it felt overpriced. The staff were friendly enough. The breakfast wasn't anything special and comparatively was similar to a continental breakfast at any of your main hotel chains. The romance package was a nice touch, but expensive for a bottle of Martinelli's and a chocolate dessert of some kind? Granted, it came with some sporadic rose pedals on the floor, tiny dimly lit candles here and there, and included moving the robes that hang on the bathroom door hook to the bed, but like most of the overall experience, overpriced for what you get. In my honest opinion, if I were to do a B&B again, I would rather pay a little more and go somewhere else.

My husband and I have stayed at the Armstrong Mansion several times. We love the romance and charm it provides. It is the perfect getaway from the craziness of everyday life. Can't wait to go back.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary by staying Sunday night and then visiting local antique shops all day Monday. We ate breakfast at 9am and opted for a late check out. Our hostess was knowledgeable about the home, history, and a genuine asset to our stay. It seemed like the mansion was all ours! We loved February Interlude. The room, decor, hostess, & setting made this truely a memorable stay. Remember this is a B&B.. we brought bottled water, some snacks, and a bottle of sparkling cider. It was perfect.

We were thrilled to stay at Armstrong Mansion. The service was friendly and prompt, the breakfast was delicious, and the mansion is gorgeous. We stayed in the February room, and we loved it. Comfy bed, big jacuzzi, cable TV. We loved it and plan to return!

We stayed in the "February" room and were thoroughly delighted with our stay. The entire mansion is very quaint. Although it is quite old, it has been very well maintained and shows a detail of craftsmanship that is all but lost in today's construction. Everywhere you look there is evidence of very ornate woodworking. Our room was wonderful. It has a wrought iron stairway that leads to a hot tub situated atop the mansion, with small windows that peak out to the surrounding area--don't worry, there are sheers on the windows and you are so high up that your privacy is perfectly maintained. Also, there is ample hot water to fill the hot tub. I've stayed at places where there is a beautiful hot tub, but you can only fill it half-way before running out of hot water. The bed was very comfortable and the room was well-heated, so despite the mansion's age, you stay warm and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent as well. They described the main dish as a ham quiche, but it did not have an outer crust--telltale of a true quiche. It was more of a breakfast casserole, with eggs, ham, onions, potatoes, etc. Despite not really being a quiche, it was very well prepared and we both went back for seconds. The meal also included fresh fruit, fresh-baked apple cobbler, a selection of oatmeal, yogurt and cereals, etc. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and we will very likely return.

Enjoyed the history and ambience of the mansion. The jetted tub in the Christmas room didn't work, which was a pretty big disappointment. The DVD remote also didn't work. Glad to get away for the weekend and reconnect with my spouse.

This stay exceeded our expectations! We stayed in September Woods, the reviews I read were so so, but we loved every minute. It's tucked away in the basement and we felt like we had our own little private hotel! Extremely quiet and quaint. The hospitality was so sweet and nice, felt like we were out of town but we were only 20 min away from our home :)
