Willow Glen Inn Bed & Breakfast

We enjoyed talking with the caretaker of this establishment and the rooms were large and clean. The beds could use an update as they were very hard and not so comfortable anymore but it was still a very good value for the money!

Incredable is the only way to discribe this room. The artistry almost takes your breath away when you turn the corner from the kitchen. And the fact we saw a Bald Eagle fly straight for the dinning area window as we looked at the mountains was frosting to an already fantastic experience.

The rooms were old fashioned and small, but clean and were not very expensive. The grounds are gorgeous and Violet, the owner, was very kind. Her breakfast was amazing and we truly enjoyed our stay.

I have stayed at the Willow Glen Inn many times when I travel to Cedar City and the Utah Shakspeare Festival. Very nice, friendly people run the Inn. The breakfast in the morning is not the typical "continental breakfast." Instead, breakfast is a real home cooked meal. Very good.

Our room (the View Room) was a little uncomfortably cold. A little weather stripping would do wonders, Plus a better heater for the room. The breakfasts were very tasty and filling. The hostess was very nice to us. She showed us other rooms that were much warmer. We would go back and maybe try a different room. A really nice quiet place to visit.

Only five minutes from town, but felt like deep woods retreat. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Room was very nice, clean, and accurate to description. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Favorite part by far was the actual property. Huge trees, lush wild landscaping, wondering paths, swings, benches, water features, and little critter noises. We walked the paths for over an hour and I could have stayed longer. Good dining and entertainment nearby.

We stayed for 3 nites and three marvelous breakfasts. the Staff (Violet the owner) met us when we arrived and modified the breakfast hours to suite our needs. My husband and I enjoyed walking the gardens and relaxing in the room. it was quite a delightful stay with very kind people. I fully recommend this place to all who want to just get away from it all

This isn't your typical Utah b+b - it's a leafy, delightfully quirky 10 acre oasis in the middle of alfalfa fields, yet less than 3 miles from central Cedar City. The proprietors are a family which takes hospitality seriously without being over the top. Violet and Phil are wonderful hosts who treat you like family, too. Breakfasts are delicious, varied, generous and will keep you going all day. And the setting makes you want to get married all over again - romantic and lush. Give it a try, and you'll keep coming back.

We reserved the Family suite & the Cottage suite to accommodate the number of family members (15). We used the family suite as a gathering & eating location which was perfect. The rooms were spotless, the grounds beautiful & a superb breakfast each morning with tons of choices. It is a very peaceful setting. It is close to things to do & see in the area. Everyone said it was perfect. Thx to the Carter Innkeepers & family, we had a great reunion.

For our trip to Shakespeare this year we wanted something with a bit more charm than a chain motel. Willow Glen is the perfect thing, especially if you can take some time to wander the beautiful grounds and gardens. The room was not luxurious (for instance, it lacked a DVD player), but it was unique, comfortable, and very private (look at the photos online to choose a room that suits you). The breakfast, served in a pleasantly airy converted barn, was quite tasty. The service was prompt and courteous but not at all intrusive. You'll pay more here than at a franchise, and it takes a few minutes to drive into Cedar City, but if you want a lodging experience in keeping with the spirit of the Shakespeare Festival, this is the place.

Staff was friendly, and helpful. Grounds were beautiful. It was a wounderful weekend getaway.

My wife enjoy our visits to Willow Glen and plan to return next year.

We had a 12 hour driving day and due to weather coming in from Colorado, we arrived after check in hours, but Violet very graciously let our room open for us with the porch light on. The room was nice a warm and quite cozy. She even left us a broom to sweep the snow off our car in the morning. Breakfast was wonderful! Lots of choices, and the hot food was brought right to our table. Everything was delicious and she was very sweet to us. Thank you Violet for a lovely B&B experience.

We stayed at the Willow Glen for our 8th anniversary. Phillip was a wonderful and friendly host. The room was lovely... all the furniture handmade by Phillip. The property is surrounded by trees and there were winding paths through the grounds. It really felt like a sanctuary. We have decided that we'd like to make it a tradition to stay there each year. And we think we'll bring our children along next time. Whether looking for a romantic getaway or a place to stay with your family, the Willow Glen was perfect.

Fantastic themed rooms. We stayed in the Tree Room which lived up to its name-beautiful rustic wood made it feel like staying in a forest. Comfortable furnishings and bed, everything clean and neat. The breakfast was a full, delicious meal with lots to eat. It's just a few minutes from the Shakespeare Festival, but in a quiet, rural setting. We will be going there every year from now on.

This was a great place to stay. We had a great room. The innkeepers were very accommodating. Rooms were clean and atmosphere magic. Breakfasts were ample with a lot of variety. Very private. We will come back to stay here again.

The service we received was over-the-top. Wonderful people, wonderful location and wonderful facility. I highly recommend it to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay at Willow Glen Inn's cottage suite. Our rooms were very comfortable and we loved our visit. The grounds are beautiful. We have attended reunions and weddings held at Willow Glen, they have been wonderful events. We had the best service and the breakfast was plentiful and fantastic! We can't wait to visit again soon!

We have been in many B&B's in Europe and the US. We find Willow Glen Inn to be unique and charming. The grounds are beautiful and extensive. The homemade breakfast is plentiful, diverse and tasty! Our hosts, Phil and Violet, are full of charm and grace. If you have questions about the area, Phil is the man. He is happy to visit with you after breakfast and regale you with stories.

Tucked away in the countryside just outside of Cedar City, Utah, is the unique and quaint bed and breakfast "Willow Glen Inn", owned by Violet and Phil Carter. For 22 years we have stayed in this sweet place when we make an annual visit to the Utah Shakespeare Festival. The grounds are ever changing with new areas of interest to explore. By day or night, the inn is comfortable, cozy and inviting. Every morning, the complimentary breakfast is a superb feast with a wide variety of choices. Add to that stimulating conversation with the owners and other guests about the plays we've seen. We are always happy to return here and visit with people who have become special friends.

Rooms were good-sized, but the arrangement was somewhat quirky (2nd bedroom occupant had to walk through another bedroom or the kitchen to reach the bathroom). Large wooded property, but lots of overgrowth around the cabins; quaint but could use some trimming. Worst complaint was the toilet that would not flush completely - all the owners did was bring us a plunger to use.... Your GPS may not know how to find this somewhat remote spot - get directions from the owners. Still, not so remote you can't get downtown (and to the Shakespearean Festival, as we did) in just a few minutes.

Staying at the Willow Glen Inn gives us the chance to escape the noise, traffic, and commercialism of ordinary lodgings. The setting is a rural out-of-town (but just out-of-town), forested, peaceful retreat. Wake up in the morning to a refreshing, relaxing view of acres of farmland, and a delicious farm style breakfast. End the evening with a look up at millions and millions of stars (that you can actually see, without the urban light pollution that makes this impossible in most locations). Walk around the spacious grounds that invite a leisurely reading of a favorite book. This is a wonderful place to escape to, no matter what your purpose for visiting Southern Utah.

upon arrival i was given a tour of my room which was so nice and clean and was comfy. i was then walked around and shown where breakfast would be served. At breakfast i walked in to a nice dinning room that had soft music going and the innkeepers where there to meet me. I was told there is hot coffee and hot chocolate if i would like and danishes and sweet breads and fresh fruit to start while i was helping myself to that the innkeepers made the hot food fresh so it wasn't cold that was just the neatest thing i thought. so i had hot french toast and scrambled eggs and sausage and hash browns. it was so.

We took in consideration that we were in a country settnig, but we feel that spiders (4) in our bedroom and bathroom was not a pleasant feeling.

We had a great time! The room was charming, the grounds were peaceful, and the breakfast was great!

50th Wedding Anniversary Party The service and food was excellent.

Loved the Loft Room. This was an apartment sized, rustic and quaint suite. Family had plenty of room in every room. Kids thought it was great to go up and down the spiral staircase to the huge loft, where they had their own sofa, chairs and comfortable bed. The kitchenette came in very handy. Vanity room was very convenient. Sitting room with TV and large window with great view of farm lands was nice. And the porch was my husband’s favorite spot for sitting and taking in the fresh air, view and privacy. He was so happy that I didn’t make him stay in a foofaraw (fancy - frilly) place. We took several walks around the grounds on the little foot paths and fell in love with Willow Glenn. Close to USF and National Parks. Breakfast was always good. Wish we could have stayed longer. What a great getaway!

The grounds were really fun for reuniting with family and friends, but I was glad our family was small with low expectations. It would have been hard to please those who want to be pampered or who complain when they don't get their money's worth. There was an abundance of insect life due to the lush gardens and water on the property. Spider webs were found both inside and outside the cabins which made us question the energy level of the cleaning crew. The breakfast included continental fare with just a few hot items thrown in. The hot food looked empty and sparse during the short window of time it was available. We had to wait for about 15 minutes, but there was one young adult on hand to assess the supply vs demand and bring more food out as long as it was all gone first. Perhaps they hoped we would sleep past the time so they wouldn’t have to serve us. We also hesitated to eat much because we didn’t want to take from others who were arriving after us. But while they lacked energy in hospitality and preparation, they were plenty eager to charge $7.50 plus tax for each additional person at breakfast. We left with a feeling of gratitude for the memories and the beautiful location to reconnect with loved ones, but also disappointment that we didn't get a better connection with the management.
