Annabelle B&B is terrible. We will never return. The location is adjacent or in the middle of a Ghetto. There is a major train line with extremely loud whistles that blow all night. Not all accommodations are in the pictured main house. Ours was in detached wooded building which was like staying in a shed at $200/Night. Absurd. The 'host' 'greeted us' - only to have us sign our credit card in advance of seeing the room - and to make us feel 'unwelcome' in the main house except for breakfast. This was the type of experience that I can only say makes one never want to stay in a bed and breakfast ever again. At breakfast the next morning our 'host' dominated the discussion complaining about the City of Vicksburg and the train noise problem. Then he began to tell us that the neighborhood had been working for 10 years to have the street 'closed' so the train whistles could be stopped. There were 6 freight trains that night to my count with approximately twenty whistles that sounded like the train was in the bed room. No one could possibly have slept. One of the guests at breakfast asked him if he was used to the noise having lived there for ten years and only said one word: "No".. We advised our host that we would leave after the first night's experience, to which he replied "There won't be any refund". This is obviously a host who is more concerned about the money being put in his pocket than the satisfaction of his guests. In any event, I will never return to Annabelle. I would advise all to look elsewhere. Most importantly I would recommend to never give this man a dime in advance, because his policy is 'there is no refund!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend for our 1st wedding anniversary. I was thrilled with how the visit turned out! I was worried after reading other reviews online and was nervous about the trains and stuff. However, everything turned out to be fine. We were the only ones there for the weekend and Paul was an amazing host. We stayed in the Wisteria room in the guest house and the room was comfortable. Paul walked us over, showed us the room, and even turned down the bed for us. Both mornings Paul had coffee and breakfast for us, which he cooked and joined us for; it was wonderful. The food was great and the conversation was very pleasant. The trains were loud, but after the initial whistle, only b/c there is a crossing right ther, all you could hear was the slight rumble of the tracks. It seriously just sounded like thunder. There were a few the first night, but none the second...or if there were we slept right through them. Like my husband pointed out, homes then were built near either railroad tracks and/or the river so it's to be expected. Plus if you go one block up, there are literally 3 other B&B's (Cedar Grove, The Corners and Belle of the Bend) where I'm sure you can also hear the train. People have to realize these homes are old and not as well insulated as they are now...you're going to hear things. Annabelle was beautiful and historic. Paul and Carolyn had it decorated beautifully for Christmas. I enjoyed every minute of our stay. My husband and I have been wanting to try the whole B&B thing and this convinced us to do it again. We are also sending my parents to Annabelle next year for their anniversary since our trip was so wonderful. I would definitely recommed this to anyone visiting the Vicksburg area. It's also close to downtown and other homes and the casinos which is another added plus.

It is both Good and Bad. Pet friendly with no extra charge. Very understanding and helpful owner(s). Food is excellent with service in a beautiful dining room. Our room in the guest cottage section was nicely furnished. BUT a train runs nearby. Until they close the stupid little street, the train horn will bother you at night every 2 hours or so. Also, as many old homes in Vicksburg, the adjoining land was sold off and now occupied by what some may call "the others". The grounds of the B&B are separate and apart, but it is in a mixed income part of town. When it was built it was a country house, but the town moved south to surround it.

Annabelle takes you back in time. I enjoyed the old time furnishing and set up of the room, and reading the history of the area. The folks there are friendly and caring.
