Amazing Time in NYC

4,2 sur juillet 05, 2012

Our stay in New York was absolutely amazing. We are happy that we found that little apartment in Harlem. Ralph was very helpful and everything was very clean. The room was tidy, friendly and nice furnished, the bathroom was cleaned and mopped daily and the carpets got changed and washed every other day, so it fullfilled all our expectations. The subway is right around the corner and took us to the timesquare in about 20 min to downtown and financial district in about half an hour. We had problems with the mattrass, we told it Ralph and he fixed it the same day and ordered in a new one immediatelly. From the booking to the departure, they do take care of you and help you out where they can. For example, we left NYC very late at night and were allowed to leave all of over stuff so we didn't had to search and pay for lockers or carry it around all day. It was a way better choice than staying in a hostel. We compared the prices and payed the same for a lovely two bedroom as we would have payed for a 8 dorm in a hostel. The kitchen is also very clean, well equipped and invites you to prepare your own meal when you are there on a budget as going out is pretty expensive especially for dinner. But there is a great breakfast place we found late at night on our way home and tried the next morning. It is challed Jimbo's Burger(s), has breakfast all day for a reasonable price, is delicious and helps you to get ready for an adventures day in the Big Apple. It is located on 145th and Broadway. So just go over the street and turn left on 145th, it is on the right side and worth the few dollars you pay for such an excellent breakfast. We started every day of our stay there and really do recommend it. So if you think about a cheap alternative to a hotel and do not want to stay in a hostel where you do not have a lot of privacy, try Little Apple's

Good deal for Manhattan

We were at the Little Apple Inn from December 27th 2011 until January 2nd 2012. We travelled as a group of five people and that for we booked two rooms. The rooms were quite nice, clean and with everything you need for a short stop in NYC. I can't underständ people complaining about the kitchen and that it would be only good for sleeping. If you intent to have a nice hotel, than go to a hotel. This is much more like beeing a guest with friends in New York who let you use there apartement. Go out, explore the city, that's what you should do in New York. You'll find a metro station (Line 1) right in front of the building. This line runs 24hours. Just two blocks away (approx. five min. walking distance), you can catch the A train, which get's you Downtown much faster.

This is New York, where a run-of-the-mill hotel room can easily cost $300, and a nice room $500. For the budget-conscious traveller, Little Apple may be worth considering. Little Apple Inn is clean and well maintained, the people who keep an eye on the place and greet guests are friendly, and helpful with information about resources in the neighborhood. This is not a complete building renovated for the bed-without-breakfast niche. It is contained entirely within one apartment out of thirty or so in a large apartment building. The elevator smells bad, which is not Little Apple's responsibility, but does make using the stairs preferable, except when moving luggage. The rooms are a bit smaller than the appealing photos would suggest. Room #2 does, as advertised, have a private bath. The toilet and sink are separated from the shower, a feature more building architects should include. Both are newly tiled and painted. However, the room with the sink and toilet is barely large enough to turn around in, and the sink is an appropriate size for a kindergarten. To get to the shower, you have to duck under the loft bed. The sitting space under the left is low enough that a five foot tall woman could bump her head on the lumber above. The shared kitchen is small but clean. The TV, cable access, Wi-Fi, are all as advertised, with all the necessary remote controls, and the air conditioner works well, also with a remote control. There are no dressers, but raw lumber shelves under the loft, and a wooden dowling with several hangers are thoughtfully provided. The staff are happy to provide use of a lap-top if you don't bring one, which is helpful to check in for your flight, before leaving for the airport. Little Apple is a real option, but be aware of what you are getting for costs that can run almost as high as $150 a night. If you're willing to go a bit over $200, you can get something a lot more comfortable.
