My father and I recently took a trip to Astoria for an overnight visit. Rather than stay in a hotel, we opted for a historic bed and breakfast. We were not disappointed by the Benjamin Young Inn. Carolyn has done a lovely job of making her guests feel welcome with comfortable rooms, wonderful historic decor, extra amenities, a beautifully crafted breakfast (the eggs benedict were delicious), and interesting conversation. We recommend!

My son and I drove to Astoria for a last minute fishing trip. I decided to stay at The Benjamin Young house instead of a hotel because I felt it was a better representation of the area. It is a beautiful old house and Carolyn was very welcoming. We enjoyed our stay and caught lots of fish on our trip with Astoria Fishing Charter. A great experience all around for our first time to the area.

The experience at the Benjamin Young Inn is one that cannot be beat. Its historic charm, spacious rooms, and gracious host make this inn the best place to stay if you are visiting Astoria. The sound of the ocean and Carolyn's delicious eggs Benedict were enough to make me want to return again and again. A real Astoria gem.

What a unique and historic home with a wonderful hostess! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Benjamin Young Inn and its age and charm were a huge plus. The accommodations were simply what we were looking for (tidy room, welcoming atmosphere, antique decor), and Carolyn's amazing cooking was delicious. We enjoy history and antiquity, especially in a home built in 1888! Reading about the house and Astoria's history helped up to appreciate our opportunity to stay here even more. Minnie, the cat, was a total darling too. We enjoyed sharing some scratches behind the ears with a little purring gratitude for the attention. Will be back next year!

Stayed at the Benjamin Young Inn in early January which is not too busy of a time in Astoria (which we were glad to discover). This old house has plenty of history and charm. We enjoyed learning about the house, and its antiquity left many imaginings in our minds. From the huge monkey tree out front, the banister up the stairs, the stained glass, the old pictures, the table full of historical info., to the original salmon weathervane on the carriage house, we enjoyed every moment and were sad to leave, especially after Carolyn served up such a phenomenal breakfast and wonderful conversation to go with it. Even Minnie the cat found her way into our hearts when a few seconds of ear scratching led to purring and a lap warming. Carolyn clearly loves this old home and loves sharing it with others just as much and we feel fortunate to have had the chance to be guests. Plan to return soon.

My husband and I wound up being the only guests for the night and thoroughly enjoyed spending our evening reading up on the history of the house and Astoria. We stayed in the Rose room and had a peaceful night's sleep with the unique addition of sea lion serenades from the harbor. Carolyn was a wonderful hostess and the breakfast was amazing. She sat down afterwards and we shared in a wonderful conversation with her over coffee. Anyone who appreciates the history and charm that comes with the age of this home should find their stay intriguing and unique. Will be back, gladly.
