"My fiance and I stayed at this wonderful B&B because we are involved with theatre and are fascinated with the B&B's history. The inn keeper, Christine, has done an incredible job at restoring the home. Her love and care really show. It is, of course, an old home so old wood windows and old locks are to be expected. But Christine has gone first class with all the details. Fine sheets, thick towels, beautiful decor. And her breakfasts are amazing! Fresh fruit followed by a hot breakfast dish. And plenty of strong coffee (a must-have for me). Christine was so accommodating. She entertained us with the home's history and was happy to answer all of our questions. She let us laze around the main room, reading the many various books she has on Hammerstein, without bothering us if she thought we wanted some down time. She was also right there any time we needed her. Christine was the perfect host During our stay we learned that Christine is planning to restore the old barn as well. She has big plans that include creating a small active theatre in the barn. What a noble and fantastic undertaking! I think the Hammersteins would be proud. The B&B is also just minutes from the Fonthill Museum, The working tile works museum, and the Mercer Museum. We had a great time visiting all three and highly recommend a visit. Fontill is Henry Mercer's home and is built to resemble a castle. It is very unique and fascinating. The tile works is equally interesting and located at the bottom of the hill from Fonthill. Highland Farm B&B is in walking distance from both (just about one mile). Combine the B&B's own history with its delightful host and its perfect location... It is a sure bet that we will return. "
