The Drift Inn

We stayed for one night in the cabin and it was great! It was secluded from the other house on the property as well as highways, roads, etc.... It was very peaceful and quiet with mostly wildlife noise and an occasional working neighbor (no a big deal, can't control everything). The cottage was very warm and cozy but perfect for a one or 2 night stay. The breakfast was an average pantry stash, but what we wanted (we're fine w/o a homemade gourmet breakfast) . We prefer the more hands off approach during our stays although Kim was always friendly and helpful to during our coordination efforts. Location was ideal for being able to do a few things without driving more than 20 minutes. If you want some peaceful alone time from the kids, PERFECT!

My husband came home from Afghanistan and I wanted to get away for the weekend before the holidays. The Johnsons welcomed my husband back with a huge welcome home banner and champagne. The overwhelming kindness of complete strangers brought me to tears. The cabin is so adorable! We relaxed all weekend and after nine months apart this was the perfect place to get away together. The silence and darkness was excellent for star gazing from the hot tub. I can not thank you enough for the memories and thoughtfulness. God bless.

Ha!Billed as a tranquil, relaxing place to stay, and maybe you might be lucky enough to have that experience there, but the owners were not easy to work with from the get-go, and got downright rude when asked to try to curtail the chain-sawing neighbor (who we could not only most definitely hear, but even see, across the yard)clearing brush Saturday morning. Their attitude was truly so unpleasant that we would NEVER return. It totally ruined what was to be a special occasion.

Please let the true reviews speak for themselves. Unfortunately, we were unable to give this guest her requested rate of half price from the beginning of the reservaion. We inform our guests that we are available for them 24/7 and to please call us at any time. At 11:00 am we were called regarding a chain saw noise. This was one hour before checkout. We called the neighbor and the noise was stopped immediately. This guest simply wanted a free night and was looking for any chance to get one. Unfortunately, we can not give a free night away for an unforeseeable problem out of our control one hour prior to check out. That must be how we are considered "rude". We consider one bad review in over two years out of hundreds of guests a pretty good rating of over 99%! Hope to see you all soon at The Drift Inn. My family spent the week at the Tree House for a family reunion and it was great! It is a unique octagon house with a great deck! We had the place to ourselves and it was perfect for shopping Wimberley and close to the Salt Lick (YUM). The Johnsons went out of their way to be sure we were comfortable and we truly felt at home. We got to see the cabin and it is absolutely adorable! We have stayed in other places in the area other years but this was the best for the price and we will be back!

everything was tranquil! Perfect....we thoroughly enjoyed our stay...so much so we would love to come back sometime!! it is even better than it looks and sounds like! par excellance!!!

Definitely a cozy cabin, but wonderful if that's what you're looking for. We loved feeding the deer in the morning and wished to come back in the fall when sitting outside in the hammocks and on the porch with the firepit would be even better. The bathroom is cozy too, just a shower, no tub. But the perfect romantic getaway. Their hospitality was wonderful and we had all the privacy we wanted. Breakfast is continental fare stocked in the cabin which we loved because we've not liked having to get up at a certain time to get hot breakfast at some B&B's; we highly recommend.

We had to get away from the city and the kids for a few days and this was the perfect place! We love the cabin and the fact that we were left alone for the weekend but were given everything we needed by Kim & Ray as well as a peek at all of the animals! The hammocks were the best!!! Thanks so much! We will be back soon and send our family to see you!

We felt very welcomed by the Johnsons and truly fell in love with the cabin. The hot tub was an added bonus and very romantic... We highly recommend this B&B and will return for another peaceful night.

somewhere between camping and a b&b. All the comforts of B&B, but surrounded by a secluded wooded area...with a hot tub! We loved it and plan to return someday with our daughter. The only thing I wish was available was a hammock underneath the oaks.

We choose the Drift Inn because we were attending a wedding nearby and didn't want to make the drive all the way home. What a romantic weekend it turned out to be! We arrived to find a bottle of wine and a horse shoe pit waiting for us. While dressing for the wedding a dozen deer surrounded our cabin- awesome! After the wedding we enjoyed the aroma therapy in the hot tub and the lush robes! The next morning was the best! As we drank our coffee and ate the breakfast the inn keepers left for us we over looked the property. I didn't want to leave. I highly recommend this place! Splurge and get away!

The first quiet night we have had in a long time. :-) You can tell they put a lot of thought into the details. We had coffee on the porch in the morning and watched the deer graze on the property, just feet away from us! I was surprised how much there was to do in the area. Went on a hike at Enchanted rock. You MUST go to the Salt Lick! Around the corner the BBQ was amazing, just melted in your mouth. We just saw it on Man Vs. Food on the travel channel.

The Drift Inn was VERY relaxing. The natural surroundings were a big plus. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson made us feel right at home in this cozy and lovely cabin. I definitely recommend staying at the The Drift Inn. My husband and I can't wait to go back.

This is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a truly relaxing retreat. The cottage is private, cozy and romantic. The deck is the perfect place for lounging and the wildlife on the property makes for such a pleasant experience. The Innkeepers are WONDERFUL. I've never met such a nice, down to earth and genuine couple in my life. They made us feel right at home on the property. We can't wait to come back. While a minor problem with the water heater occurred the host was quick to fix the problem. Great getaway for peace and quiet with a touch of romance. Definitely would recommend to friends.

If you're looking for seclusion this is it. It's a private litte retreat but only minutes from the charming town of Wimberley. I particulary loved sitting on the porch in the mornings & evenings watching the deer feed. The room is so cozy & comfortable you'll never want to leave!
