Came for a weekend with my wife and stayed in the Bombay room. The location is fantastic. We walked everyplace and never needed to move the car. The room was nice (made my architecturally inclined wife happy) and the service was laid back and comfortable. You don't really have any on-site food service but there is breakfast stuff in the fridge that we were welcome to. Only draw back was that the gas fireplace didn't work. Not a big deal but it would have added a bit to the mood. We plan on returning with friends.

I came to Charleston for a relaxation week, and this place was EXACTLY what I wanted/needed. I was driving from Wisconsin, so I was going to miss the check-in time. They were wonderful in e-mailing me back and forth and even called me while I was driving there to let me know how I could check in if no one was there. I did reserve a room upstairs, but they said they accidentally double-booked it, which I was told I was the only one staying at the Inn, so I was a little frustrated when they said they put me in the room downstairs facing the street (Equestrian Room) because previous ratings commented on the noise you hear from the outside street. They offered to move me into the other room upstairs, but I quite liked the idea of having the view of the street and because I went in the "slow season" of Charleston, the street noise was minimal, and as it turned out, it didn't bother me at all. If you sleep lightly, this may not be the room for you. The room itself was awesome. Huge king size bed that was so comfy. Plenty of space and table/shelves to set your things on, ironing board, coat rack, hangers, drawers, the whole ball of wax! Perfect for a couple days, or an extended stay! The bathroom was great too, apart from the dirty toilet which was definitely not wiped and pretty gross. The tub is deep with jacuzzi jets which was wonderful to relax in! A whole cabinet of space, and plenty of towels! The kitchen was quaint, they had food/snacks always available along with clean dishes set out. I'm not sure if it was due to it being the slow season, but I didn't see anyone there very often, but I didn't mind it! They make themselves readily available if you need anything, so you shouldn't feel like there is no help. Very, very polite staff, and extremely friendly! No doubt if I ever make it back to Charleston, which I'm most positive I will, I will definitely stay here! Thank you guys so much, you made my get-away exactly what I hoped it would be, relaxing.

I stumbled upon Palmer's Pinckney Inn in July and could't have been more pleased. Loved the location, how clean and how cute it was. Felt so at home and cozy -- also, it was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Already planning a trip back.

The rooms are wonderful however the house in general needs a lot of TLC Fresh paint and a revamp of the kitchen would make a world of difference. We did take advantage of the breakfast at the Palmer house and for $5.00 you can not go wrong if you like cheese. Cheese in my eggs and salt in my grits was a bit much. I would have preferred a simple breakfast cooked to order instead of the buffet 2 eggs toast, grits fruit and yogart. Even with all the rooms full the kitchen staff could have easily cooked a breakfast to order. We enjoyed are stay and if we were to go to Charleston again I would consider staying here. For the $ and location you can not go wrong. The evenings on the porch in the rocking chairs made for a nice wind down to our evening.

I made my reservations six months in advance. When I did I informed them that my flight arrives early and asked if my room could be ready by 11am. I was told yes and, to call a week before to verify. Which I did. I arrived at 10:45 am and sat in the office for half an hour before the young girl working there finally came in the room. I told her who I was and asked if my room was ready as promised. She said no she'd been upstairs cleaning. OK. So, I waited. My room wasn't ready for another 2 hours!! When I finally was able to enter the room it was really cold. No heat. The room appeared to be clean until I stepped on several pieces of broken glass on the rug. The pillows were so hard I had a stiff neck for three days. The second night of my stay the people in the room above mine were making a lot of noise. They're dog was wimping, they were slamming doors and just making a lot of noise until about 2am. The next day I spoke to a different young girl in the office. She said she would speak to them. Well, that did not work! That night they were making more noise than the night before. On the office door there is a sign that says no noise is tolerated after 11pm. Since nobody is in the office after 6pm there's no one to report anything to! Yes, the price was good. It's in a great location but, I will not stay there again.

It would appear the Palmer's Inn folks used some spare cash to buy this place, as the afternoon wine & cheese tasting and the "grand" breakfast are both at their main location about a mile away. We checked in on December 30th and went out to dinner - when we got back, the room was a bit chilly, so we turned on the gas fireplace and went to sleep. The temp in the room continued to drop throughout the night and we were unable to locate either a thermostat or a blanket in the room so we just shivered our way through it since the attendant leaves at 5. The next morning, I did finally find a thermostat in the small foyer that connects the two upstairs rooms - set to 52 degrees! When I handed my keys back to the on-site person I mentioned the temp issues and she replied, "Well, it's an old house with poor insulation." Boo! Another caveat: the driveway is extremely narrow and the parking area in the back is quite cramped, so bring the smallest car you can find or use a car service. One great thing about the PPI is the location - you're just a block off the main outdoor markets and within walking distance of a good part of downtown Charleston. I doubt we would stay here again but if you're temperature intolerant and don't care about the breakfast part of a B&B stay you might be OK.

Location could not be beat, just a block from Market street. It's next door to some horse carriage tour barns, so be aware if that will bother you. Equestrian Room was nice but with a few problems; Gas fireplace pilot was out. Lamp in the corner did not work. Blinds over the windows would not rotate closed all the way. For $5, breakfast at their sister inn was a deal with an amazing view. Getting there is a 20 minute walk or short drive away.

Casey was great in recommending places to stay. We loved the location and the b&b was nice and quiet and quaint. We really enjoyed our room and that we had a full kitchen to use. We would definitely stay here again!

A charming inn with beautiful rooms and an incredibly friendly staff. The inn is perfectly located, right around the corner from the Earthling Day Spa and restaurants such as SNOB, High Cotton, and Magnolia. If you like horses, the stable for the carriage horses is next door, but don't worry, the aroma doesn't carry. The staff here is also very laid back and friendly.

A beautiful inn in the heart of the historic district, easy access to the market and fine dining. The hospitality was exceptional. This may be the best value for a B&B in Charleston. We were warmly welcomed and treated like family. Highly recommended!
