"Dominique, the innkeeper/owner, runs a very homey, peaceful retreat from city life (although you'd never suspect it is so close to downtown SB). A quick walk and you have your choice of noisy racous bars to wonderful steak houses-your choice. The grounds are exactly what they say-Gardens of trees, flowers and scents of jasmine. The patio area is tailor made for peaceful long breakfasts & the daily wine & cheese hour. The beds are wonderfully comfy and included in my room was a gas fireplace. There is a little "living room" on the way to the patio containing the TV, the closet, the fridge, a couch , so the sleeping area is just that-for sleeping. The highlight of the room was, of course, the hot tub on my patio. What an extra added bonus!! Try ignoring that temptation. Breakfasts are homemade-quiche, omelets. The extras are chosen with care and it shows. Wonderful breads,, croissants, jams, fresh fruit and the usual juice and really really good coffee, I was truly surprised that when I said I was staying at the Secret Garden that no one knew of it. Well, they all know NOW. I almost hate to tell too many about it because it is such a special place, I want to keep it to myself .But then everyone should at least have the opportunity to take a couple of days to slow down & enjoy.
