    Alba House was originally a merchent's house in the mid 19th Century. It has all the characteristic features of that era - high ceilings ornate plaster cornice wide staircase and spacious rooms. Nowadays it has been adapted for everyday use as a very comfortable hotel with ensuite bathrooms. However the charm of its Victorian past has not been lost. Alba House still retains the spacious bedrooms large windows and elegant public rooms. It also retains its beautiful garden - a haven of tranquility close to city centre and very much enjoyed by our guests all year round. Parking in Edinburgh's city centre is always a problem. We recommend that guests leave the car in our carpark and use the very frequent bus service from right outside the door. It is by far the easiest way to explore the city. A day ticket can be purchased on the bus and lasts all day long giving freedom to explore and reach the less accessable sights! Your hosts the Gallagher Family have been welcoming guest to Edinburgh for the last twenty-five years and are very experienced in providing first class customer service. Being locals they also know quite a bit about Edinburgh and are happy to share this knowledge with their guests. Alba House is the perfect choice for your stay in Edinburgh whether your visit is business related or for leisure. We look forward to welcoming you.       A720 Edinburgh Bypass|Road|3|All roads leading to Edinburgh pass a sign directing them to the City Bypass A720. Take the A720 to Straiton JCT. Then take the A701 towards Edinburgh for approx 2.5 miles. You will go down a steep him and through a set of lights. Go straight through these lights heading towards City Centre and head up Craigmillar Park Road for about 200 yds. Turn right into Alba House car park.;
