This place is great. The waterfront view from the porch is unmatched. The location is amazing, walking to everything, and if you are not a big walker, the walk to the bus depot (that takes you straight to the mansions) is about 7 min. The beds were comfortable and there was ample space in the room. The bathroom was a closet, but everything worked perfectly. The house itself is so very cute and interesting to look at, and it is beautiful. The neighborhood is quite. The dog is a lovely companion and will play ball all day or let you just pet her. The breakfast is just a regular continental breakfast, if you want more than that, walk to the Newport shipyard, to Belle's, great food.

This is a magnificent and unique spot that was a perfect getaway for me and my Lab. We had out own private spot on the veranda to chill and gaze out at the fabulous views of the bay and Goat Island, serenaded by the lapping sea upon the shore. We had our own access to the fenced in yard, making late night potty trips a breeze. The house is indeed jam-packed with Victorian artifacts along with a multitude of beach and sea-themed bric-a-brac and decorations. I can see where this could be annoying per the previous reviewer, but there is so much else to recommend. The house is quiet and the staff is attentive but not intrusive. The salt-water pool is luxurious. The continental breakfast also included fresh fruit and home-baked muffins. Dogs can swim at an inlet about 5 minutes' walk away. We will return!

This lovely old historic home has a wonderful view of Newport harbor, but not much else. It needs many repairs. There were extension cords all about the room, the furniture and rugs were worn and torn and dirty. Every surface and corner of the house was filled with dolls or stuffed animals rendering much of the room useless. We were very disappointed and would not recommend it.

Really lovely place oozing with history. Amazing pool and views from the huge verandahs, with an abundance of comfy chairs. You could spend hours gazing out to the bay! Anne is such a great host, lovely breakfast and clean and comfy rooms. So much to look at in the house, beautiful!

I stayed with my husband and 2 year old daughter the week of Aug.15th. Room was beautiful with a great water view. Beautiful antiques in house and friendly staff made us feel right at home and of course the best part was Sasha the mascot poodle!!! Soooo cute. :) We will definetly stay there again when we return for our next visit to Rhode Island. Thank you Anne for opening your house for everyone to enjoy. Julia.

We recently stayed at this incredible house and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was as close to staying in one of the Newport mansions as we could ever imagine. Anne has done a wonderful job keeping the historic experience alive. Its location which is directly on the water offers incredible views from every room. The staff was the friendliest we have ever experienced. We are definitely coming back to Newport and will stay here again.
