From the homegrown peony bouquets to the fresh local strawberries in our morning fruit salad, this was a lovely B&B experience for this group of Bucknell friends, back for our 30th reunion. The location is easy to find and just a quick as the hotels up route 15. The grand rooms have very tall ceilings, period furnishings and yet remain warm and welcoming. The breakfast is served on china from England and antique silver flatware, which made each meal feel special to us. Peggy is an excellent cook! Yummy egg souffle, whole wheat blueberry muffins, delicious homemade banana bread, and egg frittata were accompanied by crisp bacon and particularly delicious coffee (much appreciated by these old ladies who partied like we were 20 years old!). Both Peggy and Tony are natural hosts who take a real personal interest in their guests. Having been made aware that I had a long, difficult trip to Lewisburg, they made an extra effort to ensure that I felt welcome and cared for. I have been coming to Lewsiburg for 48 years and have never stayed in the Vicksburg Inn before. But, I will always stay there from now on! Especially as long as Peggy and Tony are running it!

My son graduated from Susquehanna University. We wanted to all stay together to celebrate this great occasion. It was a welcoming and wonderful atmosphere with Peggy and Tony. They were the best of host. There home was beautiful and elegant. It was such a treat to have a elegant breakfast and watch the horse and buggies go up the street. It was a total delight and only 15 minutes to the campus.

Our two night stay at the Vicksburg Inn was delightful. The house is a treasure. The Inn keepers were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a delight. The Vicksburg location was very convenient to Lewisburg's Antique Malls. Had a wonderful time and highly recommend the Vicksburg Inn.

A last minute change in plans left us without accommodations, and we stumbled upon The Vicksburg Inn online. Peggy was so gracious and accepted our same-day reservation for a two night stay. It turned out to be a very relaxing, and engaging experience! Peggy and Tony were perfect hosts, and their varied education and life experiences made for interesting conversation. They provided information about local sites of interest to us, and made recommendations for dining. The lovely stained glass windows in every room brighten the rooms and one's spirits! We're definitely looking forward to returning to this fantastic B&B!

After combing the area looking for a quaint place to lay my head, I came upon the Vicksburg Inn. As a single female traveler, I was very pleased. My hosts, Peggy and Tony, offered hospitality and warmth. The room was immaculate, the breakfast charming and delicious. I will certainly return. I felt like a princess emerging from my room to the delightful smells of bacon and coffee. Peggy was gracious in asking my preferences the night before and I was pleasantly suprised. I will return when I need a weekend away to recharge my soul. Thank you

We had our second stay at the Vicksburg Inn during a road trip last fall. Peggy and Tony are charming and accommodating hosts, very knowledgeable about things to do in the area. Peggy graciously offered to make last minute dinner reservations at a restaurant in town for us upon our arrival. The Inn is beautifully furnished with period pieces, and our room was very comfortable with nice bedding and fluffy towels in our private bath. Peggy serves a delicious breakfast and you can have your Sunday morning coffee on the front porch while you watch the Amish buggies pass by. We had some nice conversations with our fellow guests and our hosts, and enjoyed some music provided by Tony when we asked about his ukulele collection. The Inn is close to many antique shops -- we didn't have time to explore them all. It's a good place to stay if you're in the area.

My wife & I planned for years to stay at a B&B. We participate in nostalgia drag racing events so we have the opportunity to utilize many types of lodging "on the road". I discovered The Vicksburg Inn online while searching for a B&B close to nearby Beaver Springs Dragway. I have to say that Peggy & Tony would set a fine standard as innkeepers. They are very personable and flexible hosts and the breakfast is absolutely 1st class. After the 1st stay we returned for a 2nd a month later. Lee & Theresa Mills, Newark Valley, NY

The hosts were wonderful, friendly, easy to talk to. We enjoyed sitting on their front porch in the morning with them. They were very accommodating and helpful and knowledgeable with suggestions of things to do in the area. The rooms were great--very large and comfortable.

Tony and Peggy were great host. As host, they were very friendly and hospitable. The Inn is very clean and organized, especially inside. Each room was well decorated, not over done and the furniture was set for the time period of the home. We were allowed to have full use of the 1st floor – this is always a positive – gave us time to relax and enjoy our stay. The outside is well kept – they were in the process of painting the outside woodwork-Inn keepers that are preserving the character of the home. The breakfast was my favorite and well done. Tony and Peggy sat with my wife and I at breakfast and had a great conversation/time talking about many different topics. My only upgrade I would recommend is to have a better mattress and pillows – that would make this Inn the best we have stayed at. I would recommend this to anyone staying in the area – I am sure we will return.

Thank you for all the compliments and the valuable critique regarding our rooms. We have firm mattresses which many guests enjoy; however, now we have mattress toppers on all our beds so that guests have a combination of soft comfort along with firmness. We also have wonderful new pillows!

A very nice stay. Peggy and Tony treated us like friends in their home. The breakfasts were well prepared and served. Beautiful room: clean, spacious, and comfortable. Will likely go back when we visit the area next year. Much nicer and more fun than staying in a chain hotel.

A stay at the Vicksburg Inn is not only comfortable but also a visit to times past. A 1886 red brick mansion, with 11 foot ceilings, original woodwork and sculptural cast iron steam radiators. The Tolubas are excellent hosts and the breakfasts offered are varied and tasty. Vicksburg ,Pa. is situated in the Buffalo Valley between the picturesque towns of Lewisburg and Miflinburg. Mennonite communities are in the area, and black horse drawn buggies frequently pass in front of the inn on route 45. Nearby is a shop where these buggies and sleighs are built. Also a Mennonite meeting house and church is a short drive from the inn. If you are interested in witnessing a community that has resisted many inroads of modernism , the Vicksburg Inn is an excellent choice as a base for exploration.

Peggy and Tony Toluba have created the spirit of the quintessential Pennsylvania B&B at The Vicksburg Inn. Their warm and generous personalities invite you to stay longer at the delicious breakfast table for convivial conversation. Later on find your way to a quiet spot on a sofa in their spacious and beautiful home to read and relax. On Sundays as you gaze through the beautiful large windows framed by stained glass you’ll see some local Amish passing by in horse and buggy. The Tolubas have the gracious touch of making you feel at home while giving you wings with information and directions to explore the wonderful countryside and sites around Vicksburg, Mifflinburg, and Lewisburg. Highly recommended for the guest who is seeking hospitality, attention to detail, and time to savor the atmosphere of a notable Vicksburg home while visiting the area.

My husband & I stay here when we go to Penn State football games. It is about 45 mins. east of State College. We like everything about it, including the Innkeepers, rooms, breakfasts, location and price. We wouldnt think of staying anywhere else!

The Toluba's are very gracious hosts. The Inn itself is very quaint and charming. The food was excellent. It is centrally located with easy access to downtown shops and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this Inn to all who visit the area or those who are looking for a nice, quiet getaway. Thanks for a great weekend!

We loved that the Inn was in the country and very comfortable and that our room had a private bath. The Inn is actually more stately than the outdoor photograph suggests. The rooms are quite lovely. The innkeepers couldn't be warmer or friendlier. Breakfast was ample, beautifully served and delicious. We would recommend the Inn and would return ourselves.
