5 sur 5Great place to stay
octobre 31, 2012
My wife and I stayed at the roebling inn in late october days before Hurricane Sandy came to shore. WE had a great time, The rooms were clean, breakfast was great, and DJ and JoAnn were very accomodating. We were busy in and out so we missed the eagles, but they did make two appearances in a tree right out the back door. We went to the Pinehurst restaurant and The Boat House Restaurant on Wallenpaupack for dinner and both places had great food. Would highly reccomend the Roebling Inn in the Pocono's for a few nights of relaxation w/o the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

My wife and I stayed at the inn for three nights In October 2012. Couldn't be more pleased! Don is a friendly and helpful host. Breakfasts were top notch. Our room was clean and comfortable. Beautifully mainained 1870's house, and what a setting! The Delaware is right across the street. Don has chairs set up on the riverbank - perfect for chilling out. The only sounds you hear come from the river. The perfect getaway for a couple suburban dwellers from NJ.

juin 02, 2010
After much planning to visit the new WOODSTOCK/ Bethel Woods museum in NY we were wandering home thru the back roads following signs to the ROEBLING bridge. After crossing the bridge we spotted a postcard perfect old white clapboard inn at the edge of the river. With impromptu zeal, I inquired if the INN had an opening that Monday night , which they were gracious to allow a one night at the end of a busy weekend, which allowed us to parttake of the reopened ZANE GREY museum just yards away on the bank of the river. Room facing the flow of the river and the sight of Roebling's work, allowed us to unwind and drive home quietly Tuesday morning. Rooms and baths are crisp and coutry themed with modern gas fireplaces and flat screens to watch besides. Please consider this inn and be surprised as we were!!!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Roebling. DJ and Joann were perfect guests - unassuming and helpful at the same time. Breakfast was delicious and we stayed in the cottage next to the inn which offered a charming, cozy atmosphere. Campfires under the stars on the banks of the Delaware were a great way to end the day. For a low-key trip to experience all the beauty the upper Delware river valley has to offer, the Roebling is the place for you!

The Roebling Inn offered the perfect respite from the harried life of the big city. Just to wake up in the morning and hear a bird singing outside the window and see the Delaware just a stone's throw away flowing peacefully by was a great stress reliever. The inn is located at the junction of the Delaware and the Lackawaxen and the area is rich in history. As an added bonus, the Lackwaxen is a great river for trout fishing, which was one of the reasons we went. DJ and JoAnn, the innkeepers, were great hosts, giving us some sightseeing, eatings and fishing tips. My wife and I have a ritual: I say "Let's come back here,'' and she says "You always say that and we never do." We probably will make an exception for the Roebling Inn.
3,6 out of 5In the middle of nowhere, but tranquil and beautiful
février 17, 2009
We stayed at the Roebling Inn on the Delaware in early November - too early to catch a good view of any eagles, which was a disappointment, but we did get to enjoy the beautiful view of the Delaware River from our window, and we had a chance to explore the surrounding area a bit too. The inn itself was clean and well maintained, our room very nice - although you really had to crank up the heat to enjoy the electric fireplace, and breakfast was very nice. There isn't much to the town of Lackawaxen - although the Roebling Bridge is neat to visit and the scenic drive just over the bridge into New York is fun. If you're looking for some place fairly remote and out of the way, peaceful, and quiet; then the Roebling Inn might be for you. If you're looking for a little more to do, you might want to look elsewhere.

Just a word about bald eagles--The Upper Delaware River Valley has dozens of breeding bald eagles that thrive here year-round, building nests and raising young, so it is fairly common to see the mature birds (white head and tail) or immature eagles at any time of year. They come and go from favorite perches, but it is often an unexpected sighting that is the most thrilling, like when you are paddling down the river in July. Our location where the Lackawaxen River flows into the Delaware provides open water to attract additional eagles in January and February, many from as far away as Canada. More info is available from a link on our website to our neighbor, The Eagle Institute. With regard to fireplaces, both riverview guestrooms, the cottage, and the common sitting room all have gas fireplaces.
