We've been going to Pheasant Field for nearly 16 years and always look forward to our next visit. Dee and Chuck are great innkeepers; they're warm and welcoming and they always take an interest in their guests. We've stayed at many B&Bs over the years and there have been times we've never even met the innkeepers. Dee and Chuck always come out to greet us when we pull into their driveway. They help us carry in our luggage and from the minute we arrive to the minute we leave, we feel pampered. We've come to know them well over the years and cherish our friendship. We'll continue to visit them every few months for as long as they'll have us. :-) (M, J, and S.)
[Resource Id: innkeeperresponse, Set: reviews] Thank you for much for telling other potential guests how much you enjoy staying at Pheasant Field! The fact that you return again and again says that our efforts to "do it right" are working!
We look forward to the opportunity to serve you and your family again in the near future!
I recently had my sister's baby shower at this lovely place- it was perfectly wonderful. The owners, Chuck and Dee, are really very pleasant and accomodating. They truly helped this special day be as lovely and memorable as possible. It is a really cozy and inviting place- the grounds are gorgeous as well. It wasn't difficult to find and was accessible to people coming from all directions. In addition- Dee makes delicious blueberry pancakes!! All our guests remarked what a great place it was. My sister smiled the whole time- she remarked "This place gives me a warm feeling inside." Couldn't have been better!
I was there for a spinning retreat and everything was great! Our group basically took over the inn, and were treated like queens during our stay. I loved the refrigerator with drinks available any time. Dee and Chuck were helpful with everything. Although I'm really impressed with their recycling, I hate low flow shower heads. Its just a personal thing (I took the regulators out of mine!). I will definitely stop again when I'm up that way.
An overnight stay in the Suite Remembrance was a wedding gift we received from our friends. We decided to save it for our one year anniversary. We have never been to a B&B before, and even though this was only 15 minutes from our house, it was the perfect romantic getaway. Dee and Chuck are super innkeepers, and Flea the cat is happy to greet you when you arrive. Breakfast was scrumptious - fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, fresh out of the oven apple-cinnamon spice muffins and persimmon bread. The broccoli and feta quiche was perfect! All of this and a side of country ham. Wow, we were stuffed. I would highly recommend this B&B to everyone.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at Pheasant Field. Dee & Chuck were very friendly and accommodating. They readily showed us around the place, sharing the history of the house, which includes a hiding place for the Underground Railroad and a barn that goes back to the French and Indian War. The house was very clean and nicely decorated for the Christmas season. Breakfast was delicious and filling, and there were cookies and drinks available for snacking.
My husband and I just spent a weekend at Pheasant Field B&B. It was fantastic, and our room, General Miller's Retreat was amazing. It was so warm and cozy, and more like a suite than a room. The king size bed was so comfortable! Dee and Chuck are wonderful Innkeepers, and Dee was right on target with her recommdations for lunch and dinner and her breakfasts were just delightful. We walked the grounds and I can see why one would want to have a wedding reception there, heck, I'd get married on the grounds, that s how beautiful they are. The pond and the bridge across the street are so romantic, just a great place to sit, enjoy the quiet and get away from it all. We will defintely be back - sooner rather than later if I have any say in the matter. Definitely pay a visit to the Pheasant Filed B&B and you will not be disappointed.
I have been staying at Pheasantfield since the mid 1990's at least 3 times a year and get excited everytime I drive down Hickorytown Road. I find myself unwinding from the long drive and a smile coming to my face. Dee and Chuck are wonderful and have become dear friends over the years. This city girl enjoys her forays into the country.
My husband and I were traveling from KY back home to MA with a horse we've just purchased. Dee was very helpful settling Blue Velvet for the evening. Everything was so clean and refreshing. The breakfast was awesome and the company was plesant.
Dee and Chuck are such great hosts that their hospitality almost outshined the beautiful house and property. I was in Carlisle on business and decided to stay in a B&B instead of my normal practice of a chain hotel - what a great choice. The house is full of history and beautifully decorated and the grounds are very well kept and a joy to walk. And if you really want to walk (or jog) the Appalachian Trail is only 1/2 mile away. The only downside was that because of work, I didn't have near enough time to thoroughly enjoy the B&B and the surrounding area, but I will be back.
GoogleEarth makes it look like it's on a big road. It's NOT! Very quiet. Very friendly. Close to town. All the usual amenities, plus a little thing of tooth paste! How nice is that? I loved it!
My second visit was as good as the first: clean, lovely rooms, great breakfasts, and gracious, relaxed hosts who give great advice on restaurants, hiking, and other things to do in the area. I'll be glad if I have the opportunity to return.
My husband and I were traveling home to Connecticut from South Carolina after attending the graduation of our nephew from Marine boot camp in Parris Island. It was a very long, hot ride and we were looking for a hotel for the night. I looked through the AAA book we had for Pennsylvania and Pheasant Field B & B was listed so we decided to call. We are so thankful we did. Our stay with Chuck and Dee was the best experience we've had in a B & B. And is sure does beat staying at a hotel!! Chuck is so helpful in getting you settled and pointing out the various information offered in their library and Dee is a great cook!! We are so impressed with their B & B and their hospitality that we already booked our anniversary weekend and can't wait to get back!! We both highly recommend Pheasant Field B & B to anyone looking for a place to stay!!
My wife and I stayed in Lady Amherst's library for two nights as part of a birthday celebration for my wife. It was everything I hoped for. Chuck and Dee were great hosts and made my wife feel very welcome. The room was marvelous. The king bed was comfortably firm (a king mattress on two twin frames). The bathroom was amazing; beautiful dark wood that was well light by a skylight above the Jacuzzi tub. It made for a perfect relaxation spot, which was important to my wife. It took a little inspection to find the Jacuzzi controls and it had the weird characteristic of restarting itself again after being shut off (just once each time...I might have misunderstood how to shut it down properly). The tub had the tendency to overflow a little behind the occupant, but the construction was such that it never became a problem...unless you have magazines next to you in the tub. :)
The first floor location of the Lady Amherst room was located in secluded manner off the sitting room, which did not see general use although we did not rent that space. The only downside was that voices from the kitchen hallway could be heard clearly in the room, so it is better for early risers. An alarm clock was provided with nature noises that effectively masked the issue, so I would not hesitate to take the room again, regardless.
Chuck and Dee also own a beautiful pond across the street with well maintained gardens and a bridge to a small island with contemplation benches and more gardens. My wife and I would go over to simply sit or walk every evening. It was gorgeous. I can see why they get a lot of wedding bookings.
Overall, this a wonderful place to stay. Very convenient to Carlisle restaurants and shops. Oh, and Dee's breakfasts were a delight every time.
We enjoy our stay very much. The owners, Dee and Chuck, were very hospitable, friendly, and helpful. They made us feel like one of the family. The home was beautiful and the setting was very relaxing. Room was warm and nicely appointed. Food was great!
On Sept. 27th my husband, Greg and I were married and had our reception at Pheasant Field B&B. Our families stayed at the B&B for the entire event. We were so happy with everything. Dee and Chuck are fantastic! Bubba is a great dog and is always checking to see if you might have a treat for him! The rooms are spacious and clean, the food is amazing (thanks Dee!) and the grounds are beautiful! If your looking for a place to host your wedding or just the reception like we did, look no further! This is absolutely the best there is! It is worth every penny. Actually, its a steal for the experience you'll have here. I can't say enough! If your on vacation and just need a place to rest your feet, stop here! You will feel so welcome that it could just be the highlight of your trip! The memories that have been made here are amazing and Dee, Chuck, and Bubba (and the cats) make you feel like your stopping in to visit with family! Thank you for an amazing wedding reception Dee and Chuck, we'll see you next September!

Dee and Chuck greet and treat us like famil. The rooms are awesome. The bathrooms are luxurious. They anticipate your every need. Always know what is happening in the surrrounding area and have maps/directions ready.
We have stayed at the Pheasant Field B&B for many years. the owners, dee and Chuck are gracious and kind to all of their guests. Their hospitality, delecious breakfasts, and comfortable rooms make the whole experience relaxing, and enjoyable.
My husband is the typical type A personality and Pheasant Field took him down about 10 degrees. We had such a wonderful time and would recommend this establishment to anyone. It's away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to enjoy small town conveniences. We would be glad to communicate with anyone that would like a personal recommendation. We will definitely return to see Dee, Chuck and Bubba. FAGiron
