We had booked one night at Floras and when our travel plans changed I called to see if we could book another night. Liz said they were full but that she would call if anything changed. At the 11th hour Liz called to say that our room had become available for an additional night. We didn't realize how serendipitous that was until we arrived at Floras. It is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy peace and quiet away from the madding crowds. The location, although somewhat remote, is great for exploring the southern coast of Oregon. If you don't want to go far afield it is a 10 minute stroll to the beach where, on our two walks there, we saw exactly 3 other people. Two one time and 1 local lady with two playful dogs the next. We also saw bull kelp (I think that's the name) washed up on the beach like something out of Stephen King and on our first morning were lucky enough to see several seals just a short distance out in the ocean Breakfast is wholesome and satisfying without the syrupy, sugary concoctions on which many other b&b's pride themselves. Perfect for our tastes. Liz booked dinner reservations for us at Redfish in Port Orford and the meal and service were execptional. A little pricey but not outrageous at all. We also found a great spot for lunch in Port Orford named Siren's Cove. The menu runs from coffee and pastries to sandwiches and excellent pizza. Great for getting something to eat to take back to Floras as once you finish the activities of the day and return there you really don't want to leave again. All in all, Floras Lake House measures up with any b&b we've ever visited. Go there and you won't be disappointed.

Floras Lake House was a breath of fresh air. We had been enjoying our first visit to Oregon for six days when we arrived at Floras Lake House. Bertie immediately made us feel welcome, showed us our room, and filled us in on local attractions. The room was spacious and well appointed with a wonderful view of the garden, lake and dune. There were logs in the fireplace and all the amenities you could want in the bath. That evening we were able to watch an awesome sunset from the deck and see the bats leave their bat house to fulfill their appointed task of keeping mosquitoes away from guests. It was pleasure strolling through the garden, then following the trail around the lake to the ocean. Breakfast was a wonderful experience: fine food, beautifully prepared combined with great conversation with hosts and guests. What a great find for our last two nights on the Oregon coast! Liz and Will are fantastic hosts. Along with John and Bertie they make you feel like family. This is a superb B&B. We have no qualms about recommending it highly. Stay there and enjoy it. We deliberated for a long time before choosing to stay at Flora's Lake rather than in Bandon. We need not have worried because this is an exceptional locational - a beautiful house in a beautiful, peaceful, place. Will and Liz are great hosts as are their housekeepers John an Bertie. John frequently appeared for a quick chat and to check that we were OK and readily offered good advice on hikes and anything else we wanted to know. It takes about twenty to twenty-five minutes to drive into Bandon for a meal, but this is an easy ride and well worth it just to be at Flora's lake. We can still remember sitting out on the deck watching the sun go down across the lake - memorable! Thanks Liz and Will! Bryan and Ann Duggan

We have been coming to Floras Lake B&B every summer for four years and LOVE it here. The views are fantastic, the rooms are super cumfy and clean, the folks couldn't be nicer. You can walk on the beach, learn to windsurf or kite, kayak on the lake, swim, bike, hike, or simply do nothing but relax after a yummy breakfast. It's no wonder most guests are repeat customers year after year.

We've been going to Floras Lake House for about 10 years. Each time we go, the experience is restful and fun. Floras Lake House is not only a great place to stay with wonderfully decorated rooms and breathtaking views, but it's also a place to meet new people and make new and lasting friendships. Each time we visit, we are treated like family, and that's why we keep coming back. Floras Lake House Rocks!

The whole experience was outstanding. I can't say enough. The home was beautiful as well as every room. The location was perfect. Secluded for someone who wants to escape from the city or for the adventurous one, there is so much to do. Breakfast was incredible. The owners and caretakers make you feel right at home. We definitely will be back.
