We have been going to Floras Lake House By The Sea for over 20 years. There are limitless recreational opportunities in the area. There is one of the best agate beaches in the Pacific Northwest with miles and miles of beach all to yourself. Canoes, kayaks, paddle boarding, kiteboarding & windsurfing rentals are available. And there is relaxing, relaxing relaxing. There are the best sunsets overlooking the Pacific from the expansive deck. The "onsite dining" is a great breakfast then do-it-yourself BBQ with the best view ever for dinner. BYOB. For those that like service and restaurants all that is nearby but we bring a cooler and rarely leave the B & B during our stay. There is a little fridge in the house if you need it. The rooms are beautifully appointed, always clean, the beds are so comfortable, and of course the host/owners Liz and Will are gracious, friendly and informative about the history of the area. Will and his sons are expert kite boarders. They have all the latest gear and demos. Will and his sons are great and patient teachers. There is just no place like it anywhere along the West Coast. The Grassy Knob Wilderness Area is a short drive from the B & B.

I was looking for a place on the Southern Oregon coast to surprise my wife on our West Coast trip and came across the Floras Lake House B & B. The location sounded fantastic as a base for day trips, as well as exploring the immediate area. The reviews were all outstanding and in retrospect, more than warrented. The caretakers were available and engaging and the homeowners also joined us for breakfast and conversation, both fascinating couples. The owner runs the windsurfing school at the Lake and many of the guests are surfers and repeat customers over long periods of time, but in no way made us feel out of place as "non-surfers". Not sure you can go wrong with this one.

We had booked one night at Floras and when our travel plans changed I called to see if we could book another night. Liz said they were full but that she would call if anything changed. At the 11th hour Liz called to say that our room had become available for an additional night. We didn't realize how serendipitous that was until we arrived at Floras. It is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy peace and quiet away from the madding crowds. The location, although somewhat remote, is great for exploring the southern coast of Oregon. If you don't want to go far afield it is a 10 minute stroll to the beach where, on our two walks there, we saw exactly 3 other people. Two one time and 1 local lady with two playful dogs the next. We also saw bull kelp (I think that's the name) washed up on the beach like something out of Stephen King and on our first morning were lucky enough to see several seals just a short distance out in the ocean Breakfast is wholesome and satisfying without the syrupy, sugary concoctions on which many other b&b's pride themselves. Perfect for our tastes. Liz booked dinner reservations for us at Redfish in Port Orford and the meal and service were execptional. A little pricey but not outrageous at all. We also found a great spot for lunch in Port Orford named Siren's Cove. The menu runs from coffee and pastries to sandwiches and excellent pizza. Great for getting something to eat to take back to Floras as once you finish the activities of the day and return there you really don't want to leave again. All in all, Floras Lake House measures up with any b&b we've ever visited. Go there and you won't be disappointed.

Floras Lake House was a breath of fresh air. We had been enjoying our first visit to Oregon for six days when we arrived at Floras Lake House. Bertie immediately made us feel welcome, showed us our room, and filled us in on local attractions. The room was spacious and well appointed with a wonderful view of the garden, lake and dune. There were logs in the fireplace and all the amenities you could want in the bath. That evening we were able to watch an awesome sunset from the deck and see the bats leave their bat house to fulfill their appointed task of keeping mosquitoes away from guests. It was pleasure strolling through the garden, then following the trail around the lake to the ocean. Breakfast was a wonderful experience: fine food, beautifully prepared combined with great conversation with hosts and guests. What a great find for our last two nights on the Oregon coast! Liz and Will are fantastic hosts. Along with John and Bertie they make you feel like family. This is a superb B&B. We have no qualms about recommending it highly. Stay there and enjoy it. We deliberated for a long time before choosing to stay at Flora's Lake rather than in Bandon. We need not have worried because this is an exceptional locational - a beautiful house in a beautiful, peaceful, place. Will and Liz are great hosts as are their housekeepers John an Bertie. John frequently appeared for a quick chat and to check that we were OK and readily offered good advice on hikes and anything else we wanted to know. It takes about twenty to twenty-five minutes to drive into Bandon for a meal, but this is an easy ride and well worth it just to be at Flora's lake. We can still remember sitting out on the deck watching the sun go down across the lake - memorable! Thanks Liz and Will! Bryan and Ann Duggan

We have been coming to Floras Lake B&B every summer for four years and LOVE it here. The views are fantastic, the rooms are super cumfy and clean, the folks couldn't be nicer. You can walk on the beach, learn to windsurf or kite, kayak on the lake, swim, bike, hike, or simply do nothing but relax after a yummy breakfast. It's no wonder most guests are repeat customers year after year.

We've been going to Floras Lake House for about 10 years. Each time we go, the experience is restful and fun. Floras Lake House is not only a great place to stay with wonderfully decorated rooms and breathtaking views, but it's also a place to meet new people and make new and lasting friendships. Each time we visit, we are treated like family, and that's why we keep coming back. Floras Lake House Rocks!

We have been going to FL for about 17 years. It is our favorite B and B because of the location, wonderful owners and hosts. We feel like family there. It is truly a special place for us and now our family as well.

It is a dream! The wind was blowing, the lake wasn't crowded, good company and local advice. My wife and I ran from the wedding to the car and drove in a quick shift from Portland to Floras. Getting there after dark we found the lights still on for us and a cozy fire to cozy up to. The following morning was greeted by a great breakfast and table conversation with other guests either at the beginning, middle or end of their stay. Our hosts offered expert advice on the wind for the day and suggestions for a romantic dinner. The setting is park like with very well maintained gardens and trails. The lake itself is perfect for beginners to expert sailors and kiter's. After our first visit we vowed to return every year. We spent our Honeymoon and 1st Anniversary at the Lake House and are already planning 2 trips for this year. One of which will be our 2nd anniversary!

Have stayed each summer for over 10 years. Each visit is so relaxing; hate to leave and love to come back. Starting each day with a healthy breakfast (granola by Liz) and ending the day at a Bandon restaurant is our favorite. Beach walks, sailing on the lake, reading on the deck with a glass of wine. The best of life shared with the Brady family. Just doesn't get any better.

This is one of my favorite places on all the west coast, from Canada to Mexico. I'm always struck by the remote beauty of the area - the raw violence of the sea held back by the ever-changing dune. The house is situated like a sentinel on the hill, close enough to be on the endless beach in minutes, yet far enough that the pounding waves become a lullaby that puts me to sleep as it drifts through the open window. And with the lake and ocean only steps apart, the spot is a playground for wind sport. I love it here.

If your looking for incredible natural beauty, kind and generous people and top-notch accomodations, this is the place. We been coming here for almost 15 years. Honestly, when we went to Maui last year, it was nice, but it was no Floras Lake. Will and Liz have done everything they can to make your visit comfortable and fun. We love the place and the people so much, we're moving there when we retire. The only downside to that is we'll miss staying at the B&B. When your not napping in a chair, you can also windsurf, mountain bike, hike the trails, walk the beachs, fly a kite or just be mesmorized by the sunsets. It's sort of magical!

From the moment I stepped into this B&B I felt my stress and outside life just slip away. The caretakers and owners greet you with warmth and such detail of little touches that just revibe the soul. Their gourmet breakfast gets you started for a day of pleasure and The views are fabulous! The sunset from the deck is priceless after an all day hike on the endless beach. Can't wait to get back this summer...
