Rose Gate very nice

3,6 sur juin 26, 2013

Nice, Victorian theme. Host was very welcoming and kept us company for breakfast. He even made mine low-fat on request. Sorry to see the place is for sale. Hope the new owners keep the B&B

Wonderful stay

I got in about 5 pm and the host greeted me. He gave me suggestions as to where to go for dinner and made a lovely breakfast. The room was great and I had a great night's sleep on the comfort bed. Mr Buttons, the dog was very friendly.

Our First Time

4,2 sur mars 11, 2012

My boyfriend and I decided to stay at a B&B for a couple nights over spring break. I found a discount online for Rose Gate Cottage. This old house has beautiful rooms. We stayed our first night in the tea room and the second in the garden villa. The bathtub for two had room for at least 3 people. We had breakfast in the dining room with another couple and it was delicious! French toast the first morning and puffed peach pancakes the second. The rooms were clean and the hospitality was great! Mr. Buttons is to die for and John was a wonderful host. My boyfriend and I want to go back this summer!

Not the best valentine's day ever....

The innkeeper seems to be a great person. We were disappointed because we went to turn on the hot tub in our room and gross gunk came out of our jets and we were in it! So, there was no shower in the room and we called and left a message, but got no response. In the morning we went down for breakfast and he said he would give us a gift certificate for another night when we told him what happened. But his printer was broken and we haven't seen one in the mail.

Rose Gate Cottage B & B

4,0 sur août 02, 2011

We stayed one night at Rose Gate Cottage and would highly recommend this Victorian house. Our host met us at the door and took us to our room which was cool and inviting, despite the weather being very hot. The bed had a feature which allowed each of us to adjust the firmness of the mattress to our own liking. The en-suite bathroom had a whirlpool tub. Breakfast was nicely served and very tasty. We will stay again if we are in Findlay, a very interesting city, with the wonderful Mazza Museum collection at the University.

This place is beautiful!

The innkeepers were really nice and the house decor was gorgeous. The owners really paid attention to detail. We have reserved a room once again, trying a different room this time. We are looking forward to returning next month.

private, affordable beauty

this place is extremely cozy! it's on a side street off a side street in downtown Findlay. also near some nice antique shops. the breakfast was an apple pancake souffle and a couple sausages. it was very fancy and a fun new experience. the hosts were very nice and beds were comfortable. beautiful victorian furniture and woodwork throughout the house i wish i could give more than 5 stars for value. we've been to many B&Bs, and this one gives WAY more than you pay for.

It was just ok

The hosts were very nice, and the dog very cute. There was no homemade soap-just really cheap bars. Same with shampoo. Never saw a robe. Breakfast was toast, sausage, strawberries & eggs. No puffed pancake. There was no air & it was hot. Opened windows & really loud traffic noise! The room was ok & the bed comfortable.. Nice deck.

Nice room, weird breakfast

The Rose Gate Cottage B & B had a wonderful room (Garden Villa) with a beautiful 2 person bathtub! My husband and I definitely enjoyed our room. However, the breakfast in the morning was the most odd food I've received at a "Bed and Breakfast." The point of a "Bed and Breakfast" is for both...right? Well the breakfast was cold cereal (only once choice) and a banana, and a slice (one each) of toast. My husband really would have appreciated a second slice of toast! I have really never eaten this type of food at a B&B. Typically it is eggs and bacon, or a gourmet treat! I would assume, at the very least, one would recieve hot oatmeal. I was disappointed in this aspect. One reason is because we had to get up early to have breakfast! If it is a cold cereal and a slice of toast (that I toasted myself) why couldn't we have breakfast at our leisure? No one was making anything for I don't understand why the timing was important? Other than that, a nice place.

Lovely B&B

Beautiful B&B. Rooms were great! Bed was fabulous-very clean! Breakfast was fine.

The Rose Gate was nice, it didn't have any of the extras that we generally see. Breakfast wasn't very hearty, but the hosts were very accomodating to us getting into town late.

Beautiful Victorian B&B

We loved this B&B and would go back in a heartbeat! The owners were most kind and we loved their little dog, too!

Wonderful experience!

This was our 2nd B&B stay and we are so glad we chose this location. We had been to a location in Huron earlier in the week and were disappointed. John and Belinda restored our faith in what the B&B experience is supposed to be. The room was perfect, the jaccuzi tub was romantic and the hospitality far exceeded our expectations. John and Belinda are wonderul Christian people who enjoy doing this and it shows. Their home is very clean, warm and welcoming. I will definitely return to this B&B again. The value is outstanding but John and Belinda make it worth the trip. I can't say enough about how good our experience was.

An awesome experience

My husband and I stayed at the Rose Gate Cottage for our recent anniversary. We were needing some relaxation time. That is just what we got. John and Belinda were so nice and the atmosphere was just perfect. We stayed in the Garden Terrace room. It is a honeymooners/anniversary persons dream. I would definately go back there. The breakfast that was served our first morning was a puffed pancake topped with carmelized apples and you pour syrup on top. YUM YUM!

A real getaway spot!

My wife and I have stayed at Rose Gate twice, both in the Garden Villa room with the double-jacuzzi. Both times were excellent experiences, and the hosts are such nice people. The breakfast in the dining room with the Gone With the Wind theme was the best breakfast anywhere. I'd highly recommend Rose Gate to anyone staying in Findlay, but save the Garden Villa room for us!

We love the Rose Gate. It is the best BandB we have ever stayed at!

Excellent Service and Value

We had a great stay at the Rose Gate .... very pleasant. Findlay is a nice town - and we enjoyed the dinner reference that John provided. We'd definitely return to this Inn whenever we are in the area.
