Cette maison ensoleillée a été construite dans le 1840's à la hauteur de la période classique de la Renaissance. La corniche Pierre est rare et la tradition veut la brique utilisée dans la façade avait apporté de Baltimore. Les briques restants ont été effectuées dans une fonderie dans le sous-sol. La famille Fullerton a acheté la maison quelques années plus tard et apporté avec eux la table fédérale délicieusement sculptées dans le salon de la maison. La maison est resté avec de la Fullerton pour les prochaines années de 150. Étant transmis par les femmes de la famille-"Fullerton, Day & Dick". Au cours de la 40's la maison a été transformée en trois appartements. Bill Hirsch a acheté la maison en 2002. Il restaure à son plan d'étage d'origine. Il a ouvert en juillet 2003 comme, "Atwood House Bed & Breakfast". La maison est fournie afin de refléter le style de l'époque. À la main de tapis orientaux adorn les planchers de PIN du Nord. Noyer, antiquités Cherry et acajou sont utilisées dans toute la maison. Gaz converti lustres accrocher dans le salon, salle à manger et salle de bal. Une collection de bleu et blanc et la Chine de rose médaillon grace aux breakfronts. Portail memorabilia du propriétaire apparaissent dans toute la maison. L'Assemblée Atwood vous accueille pour visiter.

This was a wonderful experience! I needed a stress-free weekend and I certainly got one! The house is wonderful, the bed dreamy and the service impeccable! I will return. Thanks for a great time!

My wife and I spent the weekend at the Atwood House and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The home itself is beautifully decorated and impeccibly maintained. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable. Bill Hirsch makes every guest feel special and serves a magnificent breakfast in an elegant dining room. Chillicothe is very much worth a weekend of sightseeing. Jeff & Karen O'Mara

My husband and I got married here in 2008. It was amazing. the food was great, the service was awesome. The place looked beautiful. I had no worries at all. we even spent the night here. So after the wedding we went upstairs. It was perfect

I'd highly recommend this B&B for your visit to the Hocking Hills or Chillicothe. We stayed here after a production of Tecumseh (about 10-15 minutes away) and a day of hiking in the Hocking Hills (about 30-45 minutes away). It's a quiet place, extremely well appointed and has a fantastic gourmet breakfast. The host is incredibly interesting and a fantastic cook. You can't go wrong with this B&B and we look forward to returning for another adventure another day.

After Bill showd us our room / bathroom (we stayed in the Hunt) we set our things down to relax a bit. Mr. Hirsch had previously asked us if we had a place in mind to eat and recommended the Smokehouse. It was an easy walk downtown. After dinner, we attended the outdoor drama “Tecumseh”. We returned to the home around 11:30 p.m. and headed for our room. The bed was soft and inviting. I LOVE FEATHERS and had plenty. My husband admitted the bed was nice, even though he is not a “squishy bed” fan. If you like an overly firm bed, you may not have gotten a good nights’ sleep; but I sure did! It rates as one of my top 3 favorite beds ever. The bathroom was roomy and in excellent working order. Breakfast the next morning at 9:00 was homemade and excellent. We had waffles, fruit and cream, sausage, coffee, tea, and juice. The other couple staying in the home was on a more extended stay and asked what they would like the next morning (which would be their last morning). I thought that was a nice, personal touch. Breakfast was served on fine china. Things that stood out about my (too) short stay at the Atwood: - It was amazingly clean. Everything from the bed to the bathroom to the décor was clean and fresh. - It was friendly and inviting. The service was excellent; the (too) short stay was peaceful. I can easily see myself spending a few days at the Atwood in the winter, cozyed up in the parlor with my nook. - The gardens were beautiful. As you can see in the pictures, obviously Bill has a knack for not only decorating and restoring a home, but gardening and landscaping. - It was affordable. $80 for all of this? Best deal in Chillicothe. Period. Overall, I can easily see why it was rated the best Bed and Breakfast in Ohio (Ohio Magazine, 2008). I wouldn’t hesitate to come back and recommend to others to check it out. Don’t wait until you’re “in the area”. Make it your destination.

We stayed here in April while traveling with my 93 year old mother. She is still talking about it. Bill is a wonderful host and the breakfast was superb. He painstakingly restored this house and it is magnificent. Bill is from this area and gave us some great suggestions for touring the historic sites. We had a great time and hope to return in the future.

We stayed overnight here to see Tecumseh. Bill was full of great suggestions and had brochures about other interesting places that we had not planned to visit. After hearing his suggestions, we visited the Adena mansion and enjoyed the architecture of the Caldwell Street walking tour - both were wonderful additions to our vacation site-seeing. The breakfast was elegantly served and delicious. We saw the ballroom that was beautifully set up for a party of 50 - what a wonderful place this would be for a wedding reception or rehearsal dinner. Don't miss this wonderful place to stay in Chilocothe.

The location, comfort and hosting provided at the Atwood house made our stay most satisfactory. Even the smaller of the available rooms was comfortable and well furnished.
