Even though we had a confirmed room “Nirvana” – it was not available to us the first night and we had to shuffle between 2 rooms. It is odd that the mix-up occurred in the first place and that we were not notified until our arrival that evening. And we were not compensated in any way for this – it was just a very matter-of-fact sorry but this is how we are dealing with this issue. More importantly, my mother had called the B&B looking for me & my husband when she could not reach us on our cell phones, she tried the phone number for the B&B which I had left her. I had given her the B&B phone number as it is listed on the website. But to my surprise she was told by the person who answered the phone that the number was not for use except “only during certain hours”. This makes no sense. My mother was made to feel she should not have called that number and that no message would be given to us. And no message was given to us. Had this been any type of emergency, we would not have known. Since she was told she should not call that number, and because she thought the conversation had ended, she hung up. The host called her back immediately (caller ID I imagine) and chastised her for being rude and hanging up. I realize the host did not know that she was speaking with an elderly 85 year old woman who is legally blind and hard of hearing, but regardless, the behavior by the host on behalf of the B&B was unacceptable and very disturbing to me. I’ve stayed at many B&B’s and have never had anything like this happen.

My daughter and I stayed here in June of this year. The house is above and beyond one of the cleanest places I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. There was fresh fruits and breads....milk and juices in the fridge, the rooms were immaculate and the entire home had such a wonderful smell throughout. I would not only stay here again, but it is highest on my recommendation list. It is on a quiet cul de sac and is in such a nice quiet neighborhood. We are actually planning on attending to 2013 Belmont Stakes;, and you can be sure we will stay here again!

I liked the stay in this traditional wooden house. The tasteful interior decoration and the kind innkeeper gives you a cozy and warm feeling. The street is quiet, with low traffic noise, but the house itself can be noisy, due to other guests with completely different wake-up and sleep rhythms.

If you want a place to stay near the Nassau Colosseum this B&B is wonderful... Quiet, extremely well appointed and comfortable. Almost like staying at a family members home only with better accomodations :-). Loved it and will return again.

In general, the place is very quite, nice and restfull. People are very polite and helpfull but even if it says that breakfast is served between 8 to 11 am, talk to them before and make sure that there will have someone. We left without having our breakfast so for us it was only "Anastasia's Bed". The bathroom is shared but really nice and clean. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated.

Our breakfast is a "Continental Breakfast", so you can have breakfast at any time. It does work for many of our guest who arrive very late at night and who want to sleep late. So technically they are right - we say between 8:00 am - 11:00 am but you can have breakfast whenever you get up...

We spent one night here while visiting relatives nearby. The place is very quiet on a dead end street, which is nice. It is spotless, beautifully maintained. Excellent on that score. The room was fine. The bathroom was fine - but there is only one for four rooms! This needs to be clarified in the description (there is another toilet downstairs off the kitchen as well). This was not a problem for us since we were the only ones staying there, but if there had been other guests, it would have been. One lacking - no place to hang towels! There should at least be a towel rack on the back of the door in the room, at, and a hook next to the shower for your towel, and a couple on the back of the bathroom door, for example to hang up your robe. Again, it wasn't a problem, because we were alone and could drape our towels over the tub to dry, but that's not a solution. No staff on site in the morning so the breakfast was help yourself to cold cereal, bagels, muffins, juice, but there were some real lackings in the whole affair, some of which I can't remember at this point, including what was in the fridge. On weekends there is a cooked breakfast. I had asked Gwen to get some yogurt and she did, though it'd be a good idea to have this available regularly. Overall, this place is ok for a night or two, but it needs to be consistent in service, and having things available, since the owner does not live on site. She was there when we arrived and is certainly hospitable; a good effort is made, but there could be more done to overcome some obvious shortcomings.

There are HOOKS behind each door in every room. There are also HOOKS in the bathroom. We have TWO BATHROOMS ON SITE which has never been a problem - We pride ourselves on the level of personal service we give to our customers. CONTINENTIAL BREAKFAST is set up early, because all guest come and go at different times and are at the BnB for different reasons. We have NOW included YOGURT with every breakfast.

Feel of an hostel where you can cook and store food with the plus side of a friendly innkeeper. Peaceful, close to major bus lines to go to the beach or the city. Also has a great outdoor area to relax or have lunch.

The marble fixtures, the fine period furniture pieces and the elegant decor of Anastasia's B&B and the contrast between your typical hotel room is no contest. As I walked through the doors a sense of ease and comfort gradually overtook me just like the feeling I get when I settle into a nice warm bath. I felt I really was home, only nicer! Each passing hour, the charm of the place worked on me till it got to the point where i was already looking forward to my next visit to Anastasias before I had even left! The lovely and attractive innkeeper was helpful and attentive. My eyes lighted on the following lines etched on the parlor wall, "May all who enter as guests, leave as friends." When comes to Anastasia's B&B truer words were never spoken.

I had the good fortune of staying at Anastasia's on two separate occasions. I'll never forget that the first time I stayed there, on business, the place was so clean and so elegantly and tastefully decorated, the ambience of the place made me feel so refreshed, that after two hours all my stress had drained away and I felt as if I had gone on a week's vacation to the islands. This contented and rested feeling stayed with me even after my stay was concluded. The innkeeper was a charming and lovely hostess.

Entering Anastasias is like entering one's own home to spend the night in the New York area. The proprietors have created a place where we walk through the door into an immaculately clean house, and, through their exceptional hospitality enter a home. The attention to the detail of decoration, functionality, and warmth is what those of us who are perpetually on the road need to awake rested and ready to face the world. The kitchen is well equipped, so that when most of Hempstead is closed, one can cook a simple dinnner no matter how late, or keep a snack in the ample fridge for those moments when needed. Each room is different, there is a huge room upstairs, the baths have unlimited hot water, fluffy towels, and instead of the usual commercial stuff, fine organic soaps and fragrances for the bath. While some may prefer lavish breakfasts at big hotels, at Anatasias there is a coffee maker, milk in the fridge, and just what we need to be able to get to work with the least muss, fuss and bother, comfortable, the way we would do it from our own home. High-speed internet is just that, the top of the line business person's needs, included at no charge. In short, the best place to do what a overnight room is for - fell at home, get some food and sleep, and enjoy the luxury of genuine warmth and hospitality. There are few small hotels left in NY, and those at prices few can ever afford. Therefore, Anastasia's is for the person who needs a place to stay, where attention to detail really counts, and where comfort and ease of use mean, like our home, we do not have to think about the things we need. The proprietors have done that for us, and done it first class.

I spent almost 5 days at Anastasia's Bed & Breakfast. The innkeeper is so hospitable, friendly, and professional. She makes you feel like you are not a far way from your home or country. Also, she is helping everyone at the Inn. She is doing a great job. Also, the staffs at the Anastasia's Bed & Breakfast will not be hesitated to help you any time. Just ask them, and you will see. About the House, the house is clean, organized, and comfortable. In the end, you will not regret it if you are gonna stay at Anastasia's Bed & Breakfast. You will not feel like you are wasting your money at a bad Inn, and you will feel satisfied.

Unfortunately "Terrie" or Theresa is the same person and I am the owner. We try to be as clear as possible that our bathroom(s) are shared and we have not found any guest yet WHO COMPLAINED ABOUT OUR BATHROOM ARRANGEMENT. Also, breakfast is available at any time - it is "Continental Breakfast". Just help yourself - even if it is 3:00 a.m... We ask the Guest what time they would like breakfast - I guess we missed you. Sorry - We will try harder next time...

From reviewing the Patron comment and response section on your website, I have to take exception to the Inn Keepers response to another patron (Fawlty Towers) I stayed at your Bed and Breakfast for one night (12/24/09) and was supposed to stay for two nights (12/24-26/09). Unfortunately, we were not happy with the service nor the lack of professional attitude of the staff. Contrary to the Innkeepers response from above, I am a very happy person, me and my husband but the sevice here was extremely poor and rude. My husband and I travel a lot and this is the worst Bed and Breakfast that we have ever stayed and this includes stays abroad. After paying for two nights prior to our arrival, on Dec. 25th, the Innkeeper accused us of breaking into their establishment (even though we had a key and had already spent the night there on Dec. 24th ) and asked us to leave the facility. The only good thing about rudely being asked to leave was the fact that we didn’t have to suffer through the Continental breakfast which consisted of either a bowl of cold cereal or a bowl of hot cereal. Never did I image that I would be kicked out into the cold while on a mini vacation but I’ve never stayed at Anastasia’s Bed and Breakfast. ( Nor will I ever again!)

I am sorry but this one I will not respond to - CLEARLY "THEY WERE A PROBLEM FROM THE MOMENT THEY WALKED IN" AND WHEN YOU TRY TO TAKE WHAT YOU DO NOT PAY FOR - YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE HAPPY WITH OUR SERVICE... THESE ARE NOT THE TYPE OF GUEST "ANYONE" WOULD WANT TO STAY AT THEIR ESTABLISHMENT!!! DO UNTO OTHERS...

This was a nice break from the typical hotel. I enjoyed the feeling of home and the location was very convenient. I was able to prepare my own meals and had the full run of the house. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Very quiet neighborhood. I'd stay again.

Fawlty Towers is a funny to show to watch, but you don't want to actually stay with these two female Basil Fawltys! Dreadful "hostesses" who thought it would be fun to decorate a house and charge people to stay there.

You unfortunately - have people in Life who are just not happy with themselves, so NO ONE CAN MAKE THEM HAPPY! We have to like ourselves before we can like anyone else. We have had wonderful response from all of our customers! [except one] Check us out on Yelp!!! We guarantee if you are not HAPPY we refund your $$$$.

This B &B is by far one of the best I have ever visited. I typically don't like to share bathrooms but it was as if we were the only ones there during our stay. The accommodations are well kept and clean. Also the staff is friendly, personable and helpful. We stayed there for our anniversary and they really made us feel special. Our room was lit with scented candles all over, rose petals across the bed, chilled champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, whip cream, a card of congrats and wonderful bath and body toiletries. It was more than I could have asked for especially at such a reasonable price. We will definitely go back when we need a getaway and will refer to family and friends. This is definitely a must especially if you are trying to stay local living in the Queens/LI area.
