I was a late twenty something traveler looking for something a little more private than a hostel but more affordable than a hotel, so I looked on B&B.com and found the Greenpointer. I almost thought this place was too good to be true. The price was perfect, the room was huge, clean, and furnished with awesome mid-century modern pieces (there was a large Burke Saarinen table in my room!)
The Inn is in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on quite Green Street with a two minute walk to Franklin Ave. and five minute walk to Manhattan Ave. where there are plenty of wonderful shops, coffee bars and restaurants.
I stayed at the Greenpointer this September for three days and had a great experience. Glenn, the innkeeper/owner was more than accommodating and extraordinarily friendly; I arrived three hours before check-in and he let me leave my belongings in the room and gave me a map of the area pointing out places to shop and eat.
I honestly don't know where else you could stay in a hip area of Brooklyn for $100 a night and get the space, style and accommodations that are offered at the Greenpointer. Glenn was a great host. I'll be back!
