    The Carrier-Ward house (left, circa 1879) & Carrier-McBrayer house (right, circa 1835) make up the Carrier Houses Bed & Breakfast and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
    The Haynes room is decorated in a 1920’s style with a full-size iron bed, oak dresser, washstand and student’s desk.
    An antique silk embroidered bedspread graces the wall behind the bed. Relax on the fainting couch in a room with your own private outside entrance.
    Soft green shades wash the large Washburn room. Second floor of the 
McBrayer House - 
Queen size bed, private bath and hallway access to a porch.
    The Norris Room 
is on the first floor of the 
Ward House - Queen size bed, private bath and private porch.
    Located on the ground floor or the 
Ward House, the Coxe room sports a full size bed with feather-topped mattress 
(sleeps 2). A day bed is available for an additional charge.

    Weekend Away

    This was our first stay at Carrier House and had stayed in a bed and breakfast before and were not that impressed. Carrier House exceeded our expectations and gave us what we felt a B & B should be!. My husband and I were there for a long weekend in the fall and truly fell in love with this place. Dan and Lynn made us feel so welcome and made sure that no one left the breakfast table hungry, which was always delicious. Thanks for a great stay and latting us be a part of your Christmas with your ornaments!!

    First Bed and Breakfast Experience

    My husband and I stayed for just one night for a quick getaway to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, and didn't want to leave! Dan and Lynn are great hosts, that really make you feel welcome. This was our first stay in a bed and breakfast, and we loved it! They have jigsaw puzzles out, in the parlor, and I loved that! The breakfast was delicious, Lynn really has a talent in the kitchen! I also loved that you didn't have to be at the kitchen table at a certain time to eat, they actually give you a timeframe, which is way more relaxing and convenient. We plan to visit again! -The Cannon's

    Always a great stay!

Raleigh Rutherford Haynes, is considered to be the father of the textile industry in Rutherford County.

    Nice retreat, and great value.

    My wife and daughter were in town for the night, and I surfed to find them a nice hotel to stay in the area. The prices at Carrier House here were similar to the area 2.5 star(and above) hotels, and it made me feel good to know that it would be a secure location and have an excellent breakfast. They really enjoyed the stay. My daughter is vegetarian and my wife does not eat pork, and they modified the recipes to make an AMAZING breakfast.

    The proprietors were extremely gracious and helpful. We enjoyed breakfast very much -- tasty, good portion size, and nicely presented. The rooms are interestingly decorated with Victoriana, which was fun to see (and including the stories of the local gentry who are represented). Our (specific) room was perhaps a little cramped as a result, which is probably not a problem for most people except those with mobility limitations. All in all we would definitely return to the Carrier House if we were in the area again. This (2012) will be the 225th anniversary of the founding of the town, so a 'vacation' visit to the area would probably be extra fun.
