    WE LOVE LOVE LOVE hosting people and their DOGS. We have done so successfully for 10 years in our b & b that is nestled within the arms of its very own mountain. • 92 acre protected cove • complete privacy • Wi-Fi • cable TV • hair dryers • robes • designer bedding • three gigantic bedrooms • king sized beds • en suite baths • double whirlpools • fireplaces • country chic breakfast 30 minutes from the Appalachian Trail, Biltmore Estate, amazing art and craft galleries and the foodie collection of restaurants in Asheville. We are the best of both worlds. Enjoy as much of city offerings as you like and then come home and count the stars.

    Spending 32 years in the fashion industry you will appreciate Martha's creative hand throughout the home,garden and kitchen most especially. Gary is a museum quality furniture maker who has won many prestigious awards. His work is mostly in private collections but you can see some special pieces at PONDER COVE.

    PONDER COVE'S OATMEAL TOFFEE COOKIES
    2 STICKS SOFT BUTTER 3/4 WHITE SUGAR 3/4 BROWN SUGAR 1 tsp VANILLA 1 EGG 1 1/2 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR 1 tsp SIFTED BAKING SODA 1 1/2 CUPS OATMEAL 1 CUP CHOCOLATE CHUNKS 1 CUP RAISINS 1 CUP TOFFEE CHIPS Cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy add egg and vanilla. Slowly add flour and soda mixture a bit at a time. Then add oatmeal, chocolate chips, raisins and toffee. Seperate into three parts and roll each in saran wrap making a log about 1 1/2 inches thick. Put in fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. When you decide to bake cut in 3/4 inch sections and place on parchment paper for about 14 minutes at 350. I find doneness to be so personal. Some like them crispy others cakey. With this recipe you can't go wrong. xxoo martha

Follow this passed Weaverville and Mars Hill to exit 9. Go East on the 19 towards Burnsville. Go 4.2 miles take a right on Bethel Road and the first right on Ponder Creek Road. Go one mile. You will see the PONDER COVE sign on right hand side of road. Take a left across from sign onto private road and follow to top of hill.
