The hosts were extremely friendly and the breakfast was very tasty. Our room was airy, full of light and beautifully furnished. The grounds were well kept and extensive. We watched the fireflies and stars at night, sampled the blackberries in the garden and took advantage of the swing from the tree.

Close to Saxapahaw, beautiful grounds, comfortable large room though bathroom as quirky as you'd expect for a 200 yo building.

Gorgeous grounds and amazing historic house. Totally immersed in antiquity. Francois and Christina very welcoming and personable; fell in love with gorgeous white lab dog. Nearby town really cute and Captain Eddy's Restaurant is terrific! Loved the visit!

We stayed in the Milk House for my husband's 40th birthday celebration. We are locals in the area, but have never been here until this occasion. The whole experience was so lovely. The innkeepers are super helpful and nice to chat with. The grounds are gorgeous. The room was cozy and had great views! Would definitely go back!

Delicious breakfast! Room was very lovely and clean! Nice touch with cookies in room at night. My only complaint was coffee should have been available earlier.
5 sur septembre 10, 2015
The room was furnished with beautiful antiques and was immaculate! The grounds were lovely and the location was great for a wedding we attended in Chapel Hill with the reception in Durham. Breakfast was absolutely delicious...the best scones I have ever tasted. Francois was very helpful and the two cats were quite the hosts of the bed and breakfast!!! We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

Follow the country roads to the gorgeous and meticulously manicured grounds of the Inn. Rusty' s room was warm and cozy, beautifully decorated, historically fascinating and modernly comfortable. The Inn is quite unique, I'd recommend it for a quiet getaway or a beautiful outdoor wedding. Breakfast was very basic, and being the only guests, the social aspect of a B&B was missed. Innkeeper interaction was very limited, but they were pleasant.

This inn was an unexpected gem insofar as the serene setting and the rustic charm. The grounds in mid-May were beautiful. Wonderful, thoughtful hosts and a sumptuous breakfast, not to mention the home-baked cookies left on our night stand. My husband and I wish we could have stayed another night.

Wonderful home, location and breakfast. Easy access to UNC and Chapel Hill. Particularly, enjoyed the history and displays from the past. Very interesting.

We loved the historic charm of the special place. There are many details and nooks and crannies you will want to check out. We stayed in the Head Master's room which proved to be a good choice in the cold winter since we didnt have to leave the main house for breakfast and we had a fire place. The Inn is in a great locations with many amenities in close driving distance, but with a country feel. The attention to owners have taken to make the old house as comfortable as possible be is clear. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly go back.

We really enjoyed the beautiful room, gregarious dog, and a nice long walk on their property. It was a perfect country get-away that wasn't far from town.

This is a very comfortable and interesting B&B. Lots of history here. It is well worth a visit and the breakfast is delicious.

The weather was warm but not humid. Christina was a lovely host. Relatives from the area joined me for breakfast and cocktail hour and we had the place almost to ourselves. So peaceful and beautiful. I recommend The Inn at Bingham School highly!

We had a great time at Inn at Bingham School. The grounds were beautiful and we felt right at home. We went more for relaxing than sight seeing, so spent a lot of time in the hammocks. Very relaxing.
3,6 sur juin 19, 2014
My husband and I have stayed at this lovely B&B a number of times and we plan to return when we are in the area. The rooms are comfortable and clean and Christina makes the best scones we have ever eaten!

Beautiful, historic gem just outside Chapel Hill and very convenient to Saxapahaw. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Grounds around the inn are a nice surprise with many places to sit and enjoy the scenery or walk to your heart's content. Wish we could have stayed longer!!

We have stayed here a couple of times just to get away. Always a greeted warmly. Breakfast was always terrific. A nice, quiet place to relax.

This is my third stay. It is 3 miles from Rigmor house. It is quiet, modern ammenities but old school charm. Wireless and satellite tv, jacuzzi tub and old country views. Francois makes a great hot meal in the morning and honor system drinks in the fridge. It is the perfect home away from home.

The milk house is a separate, tiny house that sits in back of the main house with windows on 3 sides of the bedroom. The view is beautiful. There were lovely outdoor seating areas around the property. I would stay there again.

My husband and I have stayed at The Inn at Bingham School on several occasions and each time we have had a wonderful time. The rooms are lovely and clean, and the innkeepers are welcoming and gracious. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it enthusiastically.

Beautiful location in an old school house with beautiful gardens, excellent breakfast, and a congenial host (and host dog). No wine and cheese in sight from 5-7, but discovered after the fact that you had to request it--so be forewarned!
3,4 sur avril 21, 2013
Quiet area, little contact with host couple.
5 sur avril 04, 2013
The period detail in the Inn is fabulous, and Francois & Christina did it all in a way that enhanced our comfort. Francois himself made some of the beautiful furniture: other pieces are antiques. Both of our rooms came with natural gas fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. I found a comfortable pique bathrobe hanging in my closet and a writing table for my laptop. They had even provided a glass water carafe and chocolate chip cookies. Breakfast (two courses!) was superb.

The Inn at Bingham School will impress you in every way should you choose to stay there. The hospitality of the hosts and the aesthetics make for such a pleasant stay that I just can't say enough good things!

Very spacious room. Enjoyed gas log fireplace. Met all my expectations on other items. We didn't need much. Owner was friendly. The scenery is excellent - farms and silos - pure countryside.

I reserved the 1801 Room at The Inn at Bingham School for a Saturday night getaway with my sweetie. Francois greeted us and recommended that we check out The Eddy, a local pub for sunset drinks and dinner (it was delicious!). Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and we loved the fireplace and bathtub. We enjoyed exploring the gorgeous grounds, lounging in the hammock, and petting the friendly cat and dog, and we loved our breakfast of homemade pumpkin bread and German apple puff pancake. We had a great time and would love to visit again.

Very charming old place. Alot of old wood and brick. Very nice room with warm bedding and fireplace. Wished we had more time to enjoy the nice property.
4,6 sur janvier 14, 2013
What a gem, and only 10 minutes from Chapel Hill, and 5 from the charming River Mill Town Saxapahaw with some good dining options. We should all be indebted to Francois and Christina, and the previous owners 20 odd years back, for rescuing this bit of NC history and creating an outstanding b&b. We found bo fault with this inn, where we stayed for our days. It was authentic, lovely, restful and the breakfasts were delicious. Rusty's Room was perfect. Large, open, airy with a nice split bathroom. Wine in the lovely living room was a delight, and breakfasts in the serene, colonial dining room were memorable. Francois was likeable, helpful and a consummate host.

We spent two lovely, peaceful nights in the 1801 room that was full of comfort and character. A lot of history. Wonderful hosts. Surrounded by pecan trees. We still wonder how they got the holiday lights up in that great old pecan tree. --Jeff and Brenda

We stayed at the Inn to be close by to the wedding of a student. We were very happy with the accomodations, food and hospitality. We loved the animals and the swing. We would love to come back in warmer weather to stroll the grounds and just lay in the hammock. Francois gave us a great recommendation for dinner - Check out Provence - it was awesome. Thanks to our hosts for a lovely time.

My boyfriend and I wanted a weekend away together. We wanted something quiet, private and away from the normal. That's exactly what the inn at Bingham school provided. We rented the milkhouse cottage and it was beautiful and intimate. The staff was incredibly nice and they gave us an incredible discount for being military! The cottage had a beautiful view and it rained Sunday morning making for a cozy, lovely way to watch a storm. The breakfast was so good too! My boyfriend and I are quite the foodies and we were both impressed by the food as well as the atmosphere of the main house dining room. It was so homy feeling. Even though I will be gone for the next few months, when I return, we will be back! Next time we will stay the whole weekend instead of one night. Thanks, Bingham inn! We loved our stay and have recommended it to all our friends!

François and Christina were superb hosts, gracious and professional in every way. I found the Inn to be ideally comfortable and convenient, as clean as you could possibly ask, and with generous breakfasts prepared and served with the care you would expect at a fine restaurant. François and Christina even expertly accommodated my gluten-free restriction which I had neglectfully failed to mention in advance of my arrival. 10/10 would stay again.

I stayed at the Inn during parents weekend in the fall of 2010, so this review is a bit delayed. Unfortunately, My wife did not make the trip with me, so I was on my own. My stay was great. Quiet as you would expect in a rustic country setting. The bed was comfortable, and the room clean. The grounds were beautiful in the fall. But the breakfast took the cake. It was great! I am sure to stay again. In fact, my student graduates next spring, so I may take the whole family there.

My husband and I stayed in Room 1801 on January 13, 2012. The room, house, and grounds were beautiful. We really enjoyed the wine and cheese and breakfast. Francois, one of the owners, was friendly and shared with us lots of information about the history of the Inn (which we both found fascinating). We had a great time and reccommend staying at the Inn at Bingham School to everyone!

The milkhouse cottage was wonderful, but we both declared the bed was uncomfortable, which is the only reason the room was "okay but below average." The bed is a big part of "bed and breakfast." Linens were wonderful. When the riding lawnmower started up outside the cottage at 8 am...not a happy camper. We were there on a Mon-Tues, but wouldn't you change your lawn service if you had customers? We then kept the drapes closed from the gorgeous view because of the lawn guy. Breakfast was disappointing. Didn't offer a refill of juice or a glass of water, which would have been nice. They ran out of coffee. We had to knock on the "employees only" door to request more coffee. The grounds were beautiful, but beside a road with lots of traffic noise, which you do not hear inside, but sitting outside. We didn't know the wine and cheese was included in the cost of the room - would have enjoyed that.

We are sorry your stay with us was disappointing. With 10 acres of grounds to maintain we try to balance landscaping needs and our guests comfort. We limit the lawnmower to weekdays and never earlier than the breakfast hour. Thank you for your input on the mattress in the Milkhouse Cottage, we have listened to your concerns and have purchased a new pillow top mattress. All of our amenities may be found on our website. Your comfort is our priority and we welcome any comments that help us improve our service.

I chose this B&B because of the history of the place. The only plus of this choice is the beautiful, pastoral setting. The room was adequate, but the outside appearance is really bad....apparently there is no upkeep in that area. I walked through several spider webs while there. The innkeeper was lacking in personality and hospitality. I have heard that about the French, and it must be true. He never thanked us for staying with him, asked if everything was okay or urged us to come back. Francois was the only person we ever saw, so I assume he is running the place solo now. Breakfast was a huge disappointment. It was frozen puff pastry filled with apple slices, a small glass of juice, and no decaf coffee, served to us in a grumpy manner. The grounds are beautiful and I appreciate the history of the place greatly, but I feel the rooms are overpriced. A gracious host would have gone a long way towards making this a pleasant experience. This was our first B&B ever and I wish it had been better.

Set in the country side outside Chapel Hill, this retreat offered very comfortable beds, updated baths, a quiet nights rest and a peaceful country setting. Francois was very accommodating, pointing out a nice run, some tasty restaurants and friendly conversation. Christina's cooking was a delight - the german apple pancake was especially delicious.

We stayed in the milk house during our anniversary weekend. This tiny cottage feels like a dollhouse! You have the benefit of the beautiful surroundings and the feel of the country house while having the privacy of your own seperate entrace, bath, and sitting room. We loved it and would certainly come again.
