My husband and I found the inn very quaint and quiet. I heard a train go by, but it was actually kind of soothing. The place has a pleasant feel, and we never missed the lack of air conditioning. It was nice having the windows open.

We had a nice one night stay in the Inn. Our room was the Loft which is the entire third floor. It has an amazing trap-door hung with a counterweight. The room was airy and light. It has a refrigerator and a private bathroom. Across the street from the Inn are train tracks. Be warned that it's very quiet at night and about six trains, with their whistles, are going to come through and sound very much like they're running right over you. It didn't bother us (I love trains) but do be warned. Also the area has a bit of a bear problem so wandering about in the dark is discouraged. The front porch is well lit so you can go out there if you would like to smoke or take some air. Breakfast in the morning was an Italian frittata and homemade granola with fruit (I don't eat eggs so it was great we had the option). Coffee was good and that adds extra points always. June was very welcoming and friendly. The whole place is lovely, very cozy, has a wonderful ambience. I didn't get to peek in many of the other rooms but what I did see looked beautiful. The place is up for sale and it's sad to think what might happen to it after June leaves. It has an amazing history that you can feel in every inch of the place and it would be awful if it didn't continue to be an Inn.

This get-a-way was a do-over for my partner who resides in California but visited the Black Mountain Inn alone on a business trip from Washington DC to Georgia. I can see why she loved this quaint Inn and wanted to go back with me. June Bergeron was the ultimate host greeting us when we arrived and seeing us off with a delicious breakfast for our travels home. I would highly recommend the Black Mountain Inn to all travelers seeking solice in the North Carolina mountains.

Good value for the Living Social coupon. Very old inn with lots of history. Owner upgraded us to a slightly larger room. Bed not too comfy. Nice location. Had a wonderful massage onsite spa.

Wonderful place for a weekend getaway in the mountains! Close enough to Asheville and right down the road from downtown Black Mountain. Awesome hospitality and very cozy rooms. Planning to come back really soon!

Very interesting house with even more interesting history. June was very helpful and courteous...It was a great location for our visit to Chimney Rock and Asheville and even found that the town of Black Mountain to be very very neat small town...We really enjoyed our stay. Ps we didn't eat there, so couldn't rate the food above .

The Black Mountain Inn was a lovely place to stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt as if we had been transported back in time. The furnishings and decor were truly representative of an earlier time period when this inn was open as a stage coach stop. I was in the area for a family reunion, and I was very pleased with my stay.

This was our second visit to the Black Mountain Inn. The Inn is a short drive from downtown Black Mountain and about 30 minutes from downtown Asheville. Our room was small but comfortable. Coffee and breakfasts were excellent. We hope to stay at Black Mountain Inn on future visits to the area.

The rooms are attractive, the bathrooms are modern, and the staff is helpful. Breakfast was delicious also. The place is picturesque and dates from about 1850. Would definitely go again.

Warm and friendly staff in a great location just outside of town. We couldn't make a reservation for a Saturday night in Asheville and the Black Mountain Inn had a room available. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most likely stay here in the future. Beautiful surroundings in a wonderful historic home.
Beverly There is a certain nostalgia about Beverly's Room that perhaps comes from the simple sweetness of the handmade quilt resting at the foot of the antique four-poster bed, or the graceful lines of the windows on the northern and eastern walls. This rooms speaks quietly of days when gentleness was a way of life and respect for things old and wise came naturally. We hope that you will appreciate the wholesomeness of this truly special place as we do. Full private bath with shower and amenities are included, just through the anteroom. $138.
When ladies all got together to dress and arrange their hair before dinner when this Inn was young, they might have preferred to do so in the comfort of Arayana's Room. The elegant furnishings lend an air of antiquity that creates a pleasing palette to enjoy, and the luscious bedding on the four-poster Queen is nothing short of irresistable. Lots of sunshine from the southern side make this room fresh and airy, perfect for those looking for joy in unexpected places.
Full private bath with shower and amenities is naturally included. Gourmet breakfast is served at 8:30 in the morning room; coffee, a bit earlier.
The Loft is the crown of the Inn, consisting of the entire third floor. The tranquility of this beautiful sanctuary is furnished in part by a truly unique door that opens up from the top of the staircase and operates by means of a large and ornate counterweight. Once the door is closed, the Loft becomes a quiet world of its own where peace and contentment flourish. A queen bed nestled along the eastern wall catches all the morning light, and welcomes the weary with comfortable charm. On the opposite side of the spacious room is a a cozy sitting area. The northern wall invites lots of neutral sunlight to bathe the room in gentle rays. Full private bath with shower; microwave, table and chairs, and a mini-refrigerator right in the room provide the welcome necessities for a pleasurable stay. $169.
A retreat for truly romantic at heart, Emili's Room is the queen of our guest rooms. A stunning platform tub with room for two vies for attention with the gracious antique Double bed. Sweet slumber is guaranteed with the midnight moon peeping through the south-facing windows to wisp across your pillow. Full private bath with shower and amenities. Don't forget: your gourmet breakfast is served at 8:30 in the morning room! $128.
Michael Michael's Room is a favorite among our regulars. During the day its fresh colors and strength lend reassurance and calm to the harried travelers who rest here, and by night the moonlight streams in the southern and western windows to cover one in tenderness until the sun arrives. A very staunch Double-size bed graces the room, and a full private bath with shower and amenities completes this rustic mountain haven. $128.
Peter If we had cats, we'd probably find them sprawled across the graceful Double bed in Peter's Room, sunning themselves. Half a dozen generous windows line the northern and western walls, making this the cheeriest room during the latter part of the day when things are beginning to slow down. The bathtub is marvelous - room for Mom & Dad, a couple of kids and the family pet, too, it rests comfortably in a box-platform with clever steps going up into it. Peter's Room also has a private "business" area complete with amenities, naturally. $128
