It's quiet; great breakfasts to start the day; nice staff that was very helpful. Will stay there on my next trip to NYC. It was better than what I thought it would be. A+

I stayed here for two weeks while visiting my daughter. I was very disappointed.I came away with the feeling that guests are merely tolerated. Apart from the rundown and tatty decor, some of the issues I had:The drab carpet in my room was conspicuously stained. A rug under the fourposter was dragged out to try and cover the stains, but it, too, was stained. The only knives available for meals were fish knives. There was never milk available for tea. I asked the owner for some. It never appeared. I left a message at reception about one of my bedside lamps not working. It was not repaired. My son replaced a bulb. My daughter spoke to someone at reception about fixing the cheap plastic blind in the window closest to the bed. It was stuck and could not roll down, and there were no curtains to draw. It was not repaired. No one mentioned or asked about it. I carried my one bag downstairs on the morning I left to visit the Catskills. Brian, a young man at reception, looked up and asked me if I had any other bags. Yes, I said, I have a large one in my room. Oh, he said, and went back to his computer. While I am capable of carrying a bag, I am 76 and have a very painful back, and would have appreciated an offer of help. Red and white wine are supposedly available from the bar for purchase. We looked for white wine one night for a picnic in my room. There was none. When they asked at reception they were told, by Brian, that white wine was not kept cold anyway. There were frequently large laundry carts full of dirty or clean laundry obstructing the guest entrance. The intercom to buzz guests from the room in did not work properly. The bed was not made; the covers were simply pulled back up. The street noise in the room was extremely loud, even by NYC standards. Better windows could be installed. There was a white noise machine available, which was rather outclassed by the traffic. The jammed windows could not be closed or opened without considerable effort.

Just a stone’s throw from the famous Chelsea Hotel the Inn on 23rd is hard to fault. Where do we start? We were welcomed by Thomas, one of three helpful staff, all of whom were a mine of information about everything New York. We started our day with a visit to the Inn’s first-floor breakfast room. As well as a delicious buffet breakfast, served in the Library, we were free to browse the mind-boggling variety of travel books on the city a great selection of mags and newspapers. Getting our ‘bearings’ we discovered that we were a mere 5 minute walk from the Empire State Building and 15 minutes from Time Square. Each of the rooms is themed, ours, located on the 3rd floor was the the Bamboo. Dorothy, the Inn’s beautiful cat who gave us a quizzical welcome and promptly went back to sleep was just one of ‘touches’ that are a rarity today. I must mention the trouble-free, complimentary Wifi that let us stay in touch. A great lodgings in a great city!

I have been coming to New York to visit my daughter for 5 years now and The Inn has become my new home away from home. I have had so much fun getting to know everyone at The Inn. There is no better staff anywhere. I hope I never have to stay anywhere else in New York!!!!! Looking forward to my next trip.

5 out of 5A Fabulous Place to Stay!
avril 19, 2009
The inn has an ideal location, very clean throughout, a fantastic library/breakfast room and very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was tasty and well stocked. Our room was clean and quiet. The library was a great place to hang out and relax after a tiring day. The staff was very friendly in recommending local eateries and providing passes to the museums. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this inn to anyone interested in visiting nyc.
4,0 out of 5Great Stay and Good Location
octobre 23, 2008
We have just returned from our stay at the Inn on 23rd. The room and the inn in general were lovely and very quaint and quiet. Good facilities and excellent central location. No complaints at all and would stay again, although it was expensive in regards to other places we have stayed at which would be our only reservation.

Staying at this Inn was a pleasure. Staff was very accommodating...we had a package shipped to us via UPS for delivery on the day of our arrival and delivery was accepted and the package was waiting for us in our room when we checked in; we had an early morning flight on the morning of our departure and the staff provided us with juice, rolls and fruit since our leaving was earlier than the scheduled breakfast service. The Inn has a lovely/library/computer/breakfast room. They also have a very friendly and engaging cat-in-residence who was very welcoming (we are cat-people; those with allergies or aversions to cats may see this as a negative!) We would definitely stay here again and recommend this property to friends/family.
4,2 out of 5very clean rooms, variety of breakfast

I stayed there for three days and was really pleased with the cleanliness of the room. Also the bathroom was equiped with everything you need (hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel). It also had shelves so I could put things. The internet connection was also very good. so very good and I enjoyed the stay. The breakfast had a good variety and the bagels were outstanding.
