They have cats that do not enter the Bed and Breakfast side of the house, but nonetheless caused an allergic reaction in my partner.

We enjoyed a peaceful stay at the Pratt Smith House. The house is filled with all sorts of interesting collections, and has been nicely maintained for the antiquity of the house. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Alan and Anne were very friendly, hospitable hosts, and the breakfast was delicious. Great place to stay for a very reasonable price.

The Pratt Smith house is about 200 years old. If you want a quiet, economical place to stay in central New York with a delicious breakfast and friendly hosts, then this is the pace for you!

We needed a simple overnight stay and the Pratt Smith house was the perfect fit. Though "north" of Utica, it really is in Utica and was only 20 minutes from Hamilton College. The breakfast was exceptional and a great value. We had a need to store somethings in a freezer and fridge overnight and they accommodated us without a problem. Anne, Allan and Emily, thanks much!

I stayed at this B&B for three nights. The service and breakfast was outstanding. Each morning was a different breakfast with many items being served. It is only $75 a night and well worth the value. The only ding I would give this place is it needed a more comfortable bed.

We fled the path of Hurricane Irene to shelter in the Mohawk Valley. The lovely farms and old parts of Utica will transport you back in time. When you stay in this 200-year-old house, the history of Pratt Smith and his family will seep into your bones. Anne has applied her charm and personality to every corner. She is a wonderful cook, and our breakfasts were delightful. We asked our hosts for advice on restaurants, museums, and activities, and they were most helpful. After two days, we left feeling relaxed and ready to re-enter the 21st century.

Anne and Alan are warm, friendly hosts and the atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. They accommodate children and helpfully provided a simple breakfast for them. The adult breakfast was delicious! Despite the abundance of decorative knick-knacks in the house, the hosts did not mind the children's close proximity to them which made for a relaxing stay. My children are still talking about how nice it was to have breakfast with other guests and chat with the hosts. The accommodations were very clean and comfortable.

We thoughly enjoyed our four night stay at this location. The rooms were a collector's delight and were tastefully decorated. The breakfast's were 'to-die-for' and were a gourmet's delight. Anne and Alan were very hospitable. We have already recommended this charming place to others that travel to the Utica-Deerfield area. Jim & Helen

This B&B is right off exit 31 and just a few miles from downtown Utica. Anne (the hostess) was warm and friendly as she greeted us, and really made us feel like we were guests in her home. Breakfast was excellent and the fact that a gluten-free english muffin showed up on my plate after letting her know the night before I couldn't eat gluten was the icing on the cake for this B&B. The Inn is a historic house in a quiet area. It's also a collector's paradise - almost every shelf is filled with interesting things to look at. At $75 a night, it's a good value. We missed having wi-fi, but the Inn's charm and Innkeeper's warmth made up for it.

Great Place! Owners make you feel at home. Place is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I would tell anyone looking at it to stay here! We were there for a wedding while everyone else was in a motel. We had the best deal and place!

Our stay at the Pratt Smith House was quite pleasant. The only details that keep us from giving it perfect scores were the bed, which was soft in the middle, and the water pressure to the sink, which should be higher. Otherwise, our experience with the Fredericks was delightful. They are warm, friendly, and engaging. Anne's breakfasts in particular are ample and delicious, and her presentation would do any 4-star restaurant proud. For the price, I cannot see how you can do much better.
