    A Warm Homecoming

    avril 10, 2013

I recently traveled from my North Carolina home to visit family and friends for Easter and stayed a week at the Inn. This was a most happy homecoming. Thank you, Janis, for making me feel so welcome, comfortable and well fed. This beautiful old place still means the world to me and I’m so happy it’s in your skilled and talented hands. You are charming and your breakfasts are the best I’ve eaten. I really want to encourage those guests who stayed when I was innkeeper to return to experience the Inn at Laurita Winery under your care. They will be delighted, as I have been. I often think back fondly to the great guests and happy times spent at the Inn when I was its second innkeeper from August 2008 through August 2012. When I return to the area to visit family and friends, I stay at the inn. I look forward to future visits because of Janis’ talent as an innkeeper and the comfort and convenience the Inn provides. It’s beautiful and so relaxing here. When I travel, I prefer staying at B&Bs because when its done right, its a home away from home. The Inn at Laurita Winery under the care of newest Innkeeper, Janis Bonavito, offers a warm, welcoming and delicious to its guests. Whether you're staying a week like me or taking that much deserved getaway or celebration, plan to stay at this beautiful old place with its experienced, fun and charming newest innkeeper. Warmly, Diana Lee Black

    Lifetime Memory

    novembre 20, 2012

We recently stayed at The Inn at Laurita's Winery, which is a memory we will treasure forever. Not only were the accommodations beyond our expectations, the room my girlfriend and I spent the night in, made us feel like royalty, with a tranquil type of essence. Breakfast was an absolute treat, with fresh berries, almonds and a Greek yogurt parfait, followed by what I believe was Applewood bacon on...a stick, baked to perfection, sided with pumpkin spice pancakes, kiwi and other splendors of delight. Following our fulfilling meal, we treated ourselves to the serene landscape on this 50-acre estate. Our mid morning walk was greeted by several horses, who, after only a few moments, came to the fence to greet us. Beauty and strength was bred into these creatures and one could easily see they were well cared for. We had the joy of meeting one who I will not soon forget. Oakley, the spotted Appalooza (I believe) gave us his complete attention. He rubbed his face against mine as if he wanted to speak to me. Such friendly animals they all were. Fortunately enough, the day was warm and clear. We lazily tried to freeze time in rocking chairs on the porch of our suite, as I counted some lady bugs that seemed to come to our presence by some expression of beauty, fragility and nature. The day drifted by and we did everything we could to keepsake the allure and quintessence of our stay at The Inn. If you are looking for a world-class stay with a subtle and charming warmth, you should make a reservation at The Inn at Laurita's Winery

    pretty place, poor service

    novembre 18, 2012

We originally booked with the prior inkeeper, who cheerfully accepted our two young kids and offered us a military discount because my husband is active-duty army. Then there was a change in innkeepers (but not a change in owners), and after the new inkeepers "found out" we were bringing kids, they tried to cancel our reservation. After I complained that I booked flights around the dates I could get at the inn to coordinate with an event we were attending at the winery, they decided to keep our reservation. Then they said that they didn't offer a military discount - normally that would be fine, but not after the inn already agreed to the discount at booking. After I complained again they decided to honor the discount. So, before we even checked in, I was a little leary about the service we might be receiving, and unfortunately there were indeed some oversights. We were checked into a room where one window shade was broken, and we found the prior occupants dress on the back of our door. As the inkeeper checked us into the room, he apologized for the broken window shade and complained about the prior wedding party who also had kids (nice, we feel so welcome). But, with that said, the house was really a pretty place, and breakfast was delightful. And yes, thank goodness, our kids were well-behaved despite it now being a non-kidfriendly establishment. Nice place, I just wish the new inkeepers exuded the same graceful hospitality as the old. We had fun simply due to other family members staying at the inn, but we really didn't feel terribly welcome.

As I shared with your mother below we regret you lost your security deposit to not treating our Inn respectfully. Again, all directives are per owners as we walked into the Innkeeper position shortly before you arrived. Never cancelling your reservation prior discussed with your mother then you with your threatening us, and this being a huge misstep on the PRIOR innkeepers part as younger children are not allowed due to respect of other guests in a romantic inn setting, we did graciously accommodate your family. As well, we never NOT honored your military discount or said otherwise, sorry you are mistaken. We did say we could not honor it for the wedding weekend party as you were not the bride in question. We support our military 100% and have regular guests to prove it! Sadly, when something like a shade breaks it is not in our power to overnight a new shade and we could not replace it in such short time as mentioned, we apologize for the inconvenience when you arrived. I never mention other parties going ons, so you are mistaken. As you can see from many others your feelings are not mutual for our hospitality, weddings take on a completely different tone at the inn and are not a regular inn experience. It does make it hard to be hospitable to a group who expresses hostility towards us the minute they come in the door an hour early. Again, sorry you were not pleased, but glad you like our beautiful house and food!

    Rules and Regulations

    novembre 14, 2012

When you stay here, pay particular attention to the many and varied rules and regulations imposed by the innkeepers. Our stay was less than enjoyable because the innkeepers were less than hospitable. For example, if you book a room with a trundle, make sure you actually pay for the use of that trundle! Don't let anyone in your party walk in prior to the 3:00 time or you will be charged. Oh, and don't have your wedding party stay here - the innkeepers have children and don't like late noise. However, the venue and the food were acceptable.

    Réponse du propriétaire
While we regret you are upset for losing your security deposit, all the items listed from check in time, curfews, beds and noise to all hours of the night outside as we have physical neighbors surrounding our property on all sides were in your very thorough wedding contract which you did sign and agree to with the former innkeeper Diana. When a wedding party takes over the Inn it is a completely different experience than if you are a guest at the Inn and this leaves you on your own more. You also failed to mention how two guests smoked in their rooms and one of them was almost irreparable. I am sorry your memory failed you.....
