Loved the atmosphere of this historic old home and the surrounding town of Hendersonville.
Great place for an anniversary

Very accommodating Innkeepers and staff. Breakfast was amazing and lingering on the porch with coffee was most enjoyable
Excellent Customer Service

This was our first visit to a Bed and Breakfast and we will definitely return. At the time of our stay it was still called The Claddaugh and was under new management. My better half was there for work (in which I barely saw him) but everyone, including the guests made me feel right at "home". It was close to town, which made it very convenient for shopping and dining. I would recommend staying and enjoy a glass of wine (or two) on the porch...
WHAT A FIND!

I am a physician and have traveled the world, I prefer B&B's because I love the feel of a "home away from home"; this place was perfect! Apparently it was built some time in 1880 which makes it just about as old as me! My wife and I arrived on a Sat afternoon, just blocks from downtown Hendersonville, this place has so much to offer! The owners were polite accommodating and professional. The rooms were well appointed, clean and very comfortable. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! I love authentic southern cooking and I found it here! Apparently this is a family run Inn which makes it a great stay; a lovely couple prepared our breakfast, "Pappa and Nany" as they were called created a great breakfast, fruit, the best gravy and biscuits I have ever eaten and attended to us perfectly. Evenings on the porch were filled with laughter, these people have the gift of hospitality! They made our stay wonderful and I will return and tell everybody. What is odd is they have only owned it a couple of weeks!! Apparently, they never stop, the whole family worked tirelessly to make sure we had a great visit. So, this old Doctor says "a stay at the Charleston will do a body good!"

We came up for the flower festival in Hendersonville. Apparently the new owners, Shelly and David have really put some effort in this place; IT WAS PERFECT IN SO MANY WAYS! The nights on the porch laughing, drinking nice wine and simply enjoying life made it worth the trip. I read with interest another review which seemed to spawn from the same weekend, wow, to call that food "Shoney's" style is delusional! It was great, homemade biscuits, homemade gravy, fresh fluffy eggs, fresh fruit! And the wine and cheese! It's not just that, its wine, cheese, cookies, meat etc! It's awesome. There was no question who owned it cause they were working constantly! They did sit on the porch with us, laugh, listen to our stories and frankly became friends. Oh yeah, David does smoke a cigar, classy touch to a classy inn, apparently he has a friend who hand rolls them in the Dominican Republic, soaks them in rum and ships them up this way, they smelled terrific, Shelly's mom and dad worked just as hard, told as many stories and were absolutely wonderful to deal with! The rooms were spotless, the service was stellar and I can't believe anyone would post anything but a rave review! Some people just love to complain! But complaints about this place will be few and far between! WE WILL BE BACK!!!
Weekend at the Claddagh
sur juin 01, 2015
Our weekend was okay but not great. The room was nice. Breakfast was just okay - basically a Shoney's buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits, grits, gravy, and fruit (the same every morning). It was set out at 8:30. We were unsure who the owners were - there was a woman who checked us in and referenced that her mom made the breakfast. A guy who was her husband was friendly but a little overbearing. He sat on the porch constantly with a cigar in his hand. I get sick from the smell of cigars, and really could not enjoy sitting on the porch. Once he said maybe he would come sit by me, and I told him "not if you're smoking one of those please" and he went back to the other side, but it was still too much for me and I had to go inside. The next night a young man was "in charge", and he spent much of the evening on the porch with a cigarette. You had to walk past them just to go inside, and I thought it very unprofessional. That night we were tired from a long day of walking, and we were just going to watch a movie on our iPad, but wifi was nonexistent. I went out and spoke with the young man, who kept trying to just give me the password (which I had), and eventually said he didn't know. Later he came to our room and told me he had tried what I did and had the same problem, but said "we just took over last week and that's one of the things we don't have control over." We were frustrated, but dealt with it. All in all it was a decent place to stay - walking distance from downtown, but if you're not a smoker or a cigar-smoke lover, you might want to give it a pass.
Things have changed FOR THE BETTER

We just finished up a weekend at "The Charleston" it appears that this quaint Inn from the 1880's is under new management and WOW what a great stay. Firstly, the rooms are kept extra clean, David and Shelle, the new owners were great, they responded to every request and our favorite times were spent on the porch spinning stories and enjoying this lovely place. The breakfast, WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! Apparently this is a family run facility, Shelle's mom and dad cook and man do they cook! The gravey was terrific, wine and cheese and cookies every night WE WERE SPOILED, this place is on the right track and we will be staying here for many more days to come.

A very nice and reasonable small inn. Central to Western NC and Asheville. We've stayed at the Inn four times in the past two years, and plan to return. Nice staff, food, rooms, style, location, and reasonable price. An authentic old inn but with modern conveniences.

I recently stayed for 4 nights at the Claddaugh Inn in lovely Hendersonville, NC. The service could not have been better as they certainly make every effort for your comfort and enjoyment. The staff is friendly, warm and personable The breakfast was fresh and delicious and I loved the wine and cheese served in the afternoon. I look forward to my next visit and I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.
