Not only is the home cozy, beautiful and in the PERFECT location, Bob is an INCREDIBLE host. Wonderful conversation and great suggestions on places not-to-miss. He has hand chosen super friendly, attentive and creative chefs to prepare breakfast each morning. Cara and Joshua really know how to throw down in the kitchen. I can't remember the last time I had such delicious, fresh and still dreaming about today breakfasts that many days in a row! All of the ingredients were fresh, local and prepared with 100% pure love. We stayed 4 nights, (been home over a week) and we are still trying to get back to life in the real world. Next time we are in Asheville we WILL be staying at Louisa'a Porch. Oh! Did I mention HOT TUB!!!

We wish we had planned more time in Asheville. The delightful accommodations with Bob Talley at Louisa's Porch made the visit to Asheville more than we had expected. The B & B is beautiful, the room comfortable and spacious, the bath very nice and the bed comfortable, too. Breakfasts were delicious and meticulously prepared by Bob's nice and very friendly people.

Louisa's Porch is an excellent value near down town Asheville. The house is perfect! Very nicely decorated and completely rebuilt inside with great woodwork throughout and a general feeling of warmth! Our hosts were gracious and interesting to talk to! We would highly recommend Louisa's Porch to all of our friends!

Can't be beat for location -- walking distance to town -- and hospitality. It's billed as a "homestay" more than a B&B and that it is. You can get your cream from the downstairs fridge if you need coffee earlier in the a.m. If you're looking for Southern kitsch, this isn't it. (As one reviewer wrote, not a dollie in sight!). Owner has done a simple and lovely total remodel of a 100-year-old home in the historic district. I'd return and bring along another couple, stock the upstairs wine cooler with some lovely wine, sip it in the back garden and enjoy all the hospitality Asheville has to offer.

Newly renovated, helpful and knowledgeable host, close to downtown, quiet atmosphere, free wi-fi - all the things we love. We know when we visit Asheville again, this is our B & B!

When traveling it's often difficult to make a decision on a place to stay. Do you save money and stay at a cheap hotel, or do you spend a few more dollars and take a chance on a B&B? I , like most others, often take the route to savings. I booked a stay here on a whim wanting a more quaint in town experience. I couldn't be more pleased with the decision as it truly made the trip! Bob, Kara, Daniel, and Forest were all delightfully welcoming and helped to make the stay very homey. Breakfasts were well above the average B &B fare with fruit cups every morning and a delicious entree to follow. I look forward to staying here again in the future and believe most people will feel the same!

Louisa's Porch was a wonderful place to stay. Bob made us feel very welcome and he has gone to great lengths to incorporate sustainability into the operation of this B&B. From the dual-flush toilets, to the compost pile in the backyard, to the backyard garden of fresh produce used in breakfast - I could tell he is really making an effort to be "green". Breakfast was delicious as well! My only two suggestions would be to get bath towels which are a little softer, and provide window coverings in the bathroom for privacy (although the rest of the bathroom amenities were superb). I would highly recommend Lousia's Porch to anyone staying in Asheville and will definitely stay there again when I return to visit. Tamara and Keith

This place is easily our favorite B and B in Asheville after staying at 4 of them. The location is fantastic (3 blocks away from downtown), the house is done beautifully, and the owner (Bob) just couldn't be a nicer guy. We will definitely be back! Sam and Mel

I was more than thrilled with the overnight stay at Louisa's Porch. I must say it was one of the more pleasant surprises I have had while traveling. #1 Cleanliness is a must for me, that is why I often choose a B & B over motels. #2 Comfort, if the bed isn't comfortable or sheets creep etc. then your not well rested. #3 The location needs to be reasonable to activities or route. This B & B is located within several miles of just about everything. A great location but in a residential environment. #4 The amenities, is coffee, ice, etc. readily available? Is there a comfortable chair or desk area? Is wireless available? Does everything work? Louisa's Porch has all this and much more. In short, it has beautifully crafted floors and woodwork. The colors and design of this incredibly well done reconstruction is welcoming and warm focusing on comfort while at the same time showcasing an artistic finish in every room of the house. However the biggest surprise and I must say a delightful one was the breakfast prepared by Daniel. If he didn't train as a chef, he should be one. The breakfast was simply put gourmet and a wonderful finish to a welcome and restful stay. But, I'm not finished yet. The owner Bob was as surprise with just the right balance of being the host and respectful of privacy. He certainly put on the finishing touches and was just delightful. Some minuses, really only two. The house is not handicap accessible and there are only two guest rooms. However those two room are perfect for two couples traveling. My overall impression, definitely to return and absolutely highly recommend, however not too highly because I still wish Louisa's Porch be available for me!

I stayed for four nights in September 2009 and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful amenities and also the outstanding care and attention by Bob, the owner. The B & B is very close to restaurants and tourist attractions in charming Asheville.

Last week I stayed for two days at Louisasporch; I had a wonderful time while staying there. The room was very peacefull, nice and comfortable. If you are going to be in the Asheville area, I highly recommend Louisasporch for a home away from home.

I stayed here last week and was pleasantly surprised. As a business traveler I ususally stay close to interstates etc for your typical box room. Reagarding the accomodations, The room was very nice, comfortable work area, very nice bed, HDTV, a bathroom that incredibly nice, spacious shower, top notch amenities. The b&b was within walking distance to downtown and very convenient to restaurants and businesses. The host was great and that porch was wondeful. I would definately stay again.

Bob Tally and his bed and breakfast in the heart of downtown Asheville are fabulous in every way. This is a beautiful home in a perfect neighborhood to tour the great city --on foot-- with a cultured, intelligent, generous and warm host.

My weekend spent at Louisa's Porch was so relaxing and comforting that I regretted returning to my own home! The scenery is lovely and welcome when sitting on the porch rockers in the evening after a day or walking/touring the Asheville area. We walked just a few pleasant blocks into downtown Asheville and had dinner without having to worry about parking. Bob, the owner, spoiled us with an evening fireside chat and an exquisite breakfast (made with only fresh ingredients) in the morning. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and had all the conveniences of home. Bring a good book and plan to stay more than just one day. You will want to spend most of your time at Louisa's!!

We had the most wonderful time there. Bob (the Innkeeper) could not have been more hospitable or helpful. The house is just beautiful and it is such a short walk to downtown. If you want to go somewhere to relax, have some fun and do some sightseeing, this is the place!!

Beautifully restored 100 year old house surrounded by similar properties in an attractive and quiet tree lined residential street which is only a short walk from central Asheville. Clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated accommodation with good food. Welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful host. Charges represented good value for money and I would stay again when in the Asheville area. Based on the experience of my stay, would recommend to others. Visitor from London United Kingdom.
