The Burn Antebellum Bed & Breakfast Inn

Lucky us to experience "The Burn" as our very first Bed & Breakfast visit. Nell welcomed us and we knew we were where we needed to be. The room, the tour, the breakfast and the gracious Nell gave us much to share with others. We will be back and we will bring company with us.

Stayed here during Spring pilgrimage. I had read the book about the house and enjoyed the tour and the actual photos of the original owners in the home. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The gardens are beautiful in the Spring. The other guests were very friendly. The only comment is that parking is a little limited especially during pilgrimage when the house is on tour. Is a good location as it is right in town. Would return there.

Nell received us and very graciously accommodated our needs, caused us to feel at home & was very knowledgeable about the property & the history of the house. The grounds are beautiful.

We spent a wonderful thanksgiving at the Burn last month. The people are so friendly, the food is delicious and the history and furnishings are fabulous.

We celebrated our 10th Anniversary at The Burn and could not have asked for a more wonderful stay! The staff made us feel like part of the family. We knew nothing about Natchez and they were very helpful with suggestions for places to see and eat. We have stayed at many B & B's and will most certainly return to The Burn. We liked the intimacy of the surroundings and the beautiful pool was an added plus.

This is our fourth stay at the Burn and the second time in the Victorian Cottage, which we love. It's quaint, private, and we enjoy having our own private porch and kitchen. Breakfasts were wonderful as was the company around the table both mornings. We'll be back next spring!

Although our room was just beautiful, the setting and surrounding landscape are what I'll always remember. Sitting in the garden area or on our balcony overlooking the grounds was so lovely and serene. It was something we looked forward to after a day of sightseeing. Nell was above and beyond in giving us great restaurant recommendations, as well as helpful information on what to see to make the most of our time in Natchez. The tour of the mansion by the owner was very special. I highly recommend The Burn.

I booked our room on line and was a bit nervous. But it was absolutely fabulous. Nice people, fantastic breakfast and we felt the feel of the era was well preserved. Would definitely stay and again and would highly recommend it.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at The Burn. The breakfast left a little to be desired as far as southern hospitality goes, but the innkeeper was fabulous and extremely helpful. The towels were very small and not very luxurious, but the rooms were very clean.

The Burn is a wonderful place. We really enjoyed drinking wine with the other guests on the patio in the early evening. The breakfasts were fantastic. We could walk around town to many restaurants and house tours - it was nice to not have to use the car.

Ms. Nell provided a delicious breakfast and took care of all our needs. Tour of the house was very interesting.

My mother and I stayed for 4 nights during the spring pilgrimage. The Burn was very accomodating to give us a room with 2 beds when our original reservation was for only 1 bed. The Burn is beautiful! Better than the photos on line. Nell, Wanetta, Joanne, and the Greens are wonderful!

My husband and I, as well as my sister and brother-in-law stayed at The Burn during Pilgrimage in Marc, 2011. We have stayed at many B & B's, and I would rate this as one of the best. Nell and the rest of the staff are so nice and helpful, and Bridget Green's tour was delightful since she is so knowledgeable of the history of this beautiful house. We felt like we were guests of the family. The breakfasts are delicious! Well located for seeing the many lovely homes in Natchez. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay in Natchez.

Two friends and I stayed at the Burn this past pilgrimage and we were delighted with our quarters in the garconniere and were charmed by the hospitality of Miss Nell and her staff. The home and the grounds are breath-taking with the azaleas, wisteria, spirea, camellias, and more in full bloom. The Ernestine room was perfect for us. Miss Nell answered all our questions about what we should do and where we should go. She even offered to run some of our errands, asking each time we met what she could do for us. We opted for the "Girlfriends' Getaway," which was well worth the time and the cost of the package. Miss Nell also saw to it that we had our coffee and cream in lovely china brought to our room each morning on arising time. We would all go back to the Burn, not only for a pleasant stay, but to be in the company of such a lovely lady.

This was a great choice in Natchez. It has been beautifully restored and tastefully decorated. We highly recommend it.

My girlfriend (now fiance) and I planned a romantic getaway to enjoy the downtown Natchez area. We have been to Natchez many times but none were as special as this trip. The staff at The Burn made our weekend unfortgetable. They were always friendly and went the extra mile for us. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfast was amazing. We will definitely return soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house and were extremely well looked after before going on our way refreshed with a delicious southern breakfast. Get the Lucy room if you can!!

I brought friends from Alberta, Canada to stay at The Burn and tour Natchez - we had a wonderful stay and want to come back.

What a delightful stay, and a great pleasure to be given a personal tour of the house by the current owner. As a Brit I am used to house tours to National Trust homes - all very interesting, but not as intimate as hearing from the person who lives there. She knew all about the furniture, fittings and history. Very enjoyable.

The home was quite lovely and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definately stay there again.

The staff at The Burn was wonderful in every aspect. The room was clean and the furnishings were great as was the food. Ms. Nell went above and beyond.

The Burn B&B is a great getaway. The rooms are beautiful and comfy, the breakfast was great, the host (Nell) was a delight!! We sat out in the gardens and drank our wine from the Winery. (Very relaxing) We will return there again. It is close to downtown Natchez where there is a lot to see. We loved our weekend!!

I stayed one night and wished I could have stayed more! This is a lovely property with several buildings and pretty gardens. It's conveniently located to downtown and Natchez attractions. I recommend calling for directions when you get close to Natchez; features like Mapquest are befuddled by Natchez' one-way streets.

We were very pleased with the accommodations. We enjoyed the wine and tour and being able to connect with the other guests.

Beautiful home and great service by the staff. The house tour was great with Bridgett. Great history and beautiful grounds. Didn't know The Burn was on the pilgrimmage until we got to Natchez. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at the Burn for his birthday. This was his first experience in a B & B. The whole experience from the time we entered the door until we checked out was a wonderful experience. The staff was knowledgeable, the rooms were exceptional and we look forward to our next visit at the Burn.

The Burn is a beautiful bed and breakfast and has a great location in Natchez. We would definitely recommend staying here if you're in Natchez for a relaxing weekend.

Pros: Charming B&B in the heart of downtown Natchez. Reasonable rates, good food, friendly staff, nice pool. Fantastic air conditioning (important if you go during the summer months). Gardens are lovely. Cons: Parking is a bit tight if you drive a large vehicle (SUV, truck, etc.) If you are expecting a plantation surrounded by vast acreage, you will be disappointed. Much of the original property has been sold and the home is rather sandwiched in-between other B&Bs. Conclusion: Nonetheless, we would certainly stay here again.

This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast. It was wonderful! Nell and JoAnn were the BEST! Our accommodations were superb! The food was the absolute best! Mama and I will be back!

Highly impressed with historic home, grounds, staff and comfortable rooms. Tour of home was great - given by owner - beautifully restored and full of period antiques. Highly recommended!

This place is fabulous! Really clean, the staff is excellent, and breakfast was a truly southern experience (which means it was delicious!). I was here in the winter, so just in time for the blooming of the beautiful camillias in the back garden. Overall, a very enjoyable, romantic weekend at the Burn!

My wife and I loved our stay at The Burn. This is a lovely property with beautiful rooms with antique furnishings. The staff is fantastic and all of our breakfasts were great. We will definately return.

Room was large, nice privacy, beautiful old home, lovely garden areas and pool. Staff nice, food good, could have been a little better. Missed coffee in room. Overall very nice place.

Our stay was fantastic. From the deep history and culture that Natchez posses. It's like time has stopped. This is a great getaway to reflect on the history.

The best time I have ever had any where I have ever stayed and I have been all over the country.They met every need we had perfectly.

Having stayed in ten B&Bs on this two-weeks trip this was the most impersonal and disappointing one we stayed in. There was no personal touch in the rooms and the bathroom looked like a one piece plastic booth I have not even seen in 3-star-hotels. Furthermore it was not clean. The room itself smelled aweful and the dining room was like a huge hall. Breakfast was below average. The dining recommendations consisted of some restaurant flyers in a drawer which was shown to us... Regarding furnishing - antique does not mean neglected, torn down or broken - many other B&Bs do much better. We wondered when the pool and the cushions on the poolchairs were cleaned the last time. Overall, we were glad that we stayed only for one night.

How lovely is this beautifully kept place. A perfect weekend. Southern hospitality at its very best.

I loved my stay at The Burn. The room was very large with comfy beds and plush comforters. The breakfast was delicious and served in the elegant dining room. The staff was accomodating and very friendly. It was a great experience!

Verdant setting on a peaceful residential street, yet convenient to all historic Natchez sites. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful period antiques yet all modern conveniences. The staff is friendly and helpful; breakfast was a delicious Southern classic, complete with grits and melt-in-your mouth biscuits. The lush grounds include lovely gardens and an inviting swimming pool, perfect for a cooling dip after exploring all Natchez has to offer.
