The Golden Lantern Inn

This spacious third floor suite offers guests a romantic, luxurious escape. Room is complete with 2-person whirlpool, fireplace, tv, vcr, a full bath and a small refrigerator stocked with soft drinks. An alcove with sofa and chairs makes an ideal conversation area. But guests talk most about the king-size bed topped with featherbed and 400-thread count linens. Breakfast can be served in the room if desired.

JR's suite was the master bedroom suite of JR Sweazy, builder of the house and founder of Red Wing Shoes. This suite is an oversized room with a two person whirlpool in the bathroom which also features a shower and tub. Room also has a fireplace, tv, vcr and two overstuffed chairs that make conversation and a glass a wine a nice way to connect. A king-sized bed completes the room with a feather bed and high thread count linens. Breakfast can be served in the room with a table that overlooks the front street.

Meg's Suite is comfortable suite that affords guests the benefit of two separate rooms, ideal for an early riser or light sleeper. The parlor is separated by a full bath which leads into the bedroom where guests can indulge themselves in a two-person whirlpool next to the bed. The parlor includes a sofa sleeper sofa, chair, a table and chairs that allow couples to choose to have breakfast in their room. Parlor also includes fireplace, tv, vcr and a view of the back of the house overlooking the spectacular garden areas.

Helen's Suite is unique to the house in that it features a walkout balcony off the sitting room that makes an ideal location for a late afternoon cocktail or a great way to start the day with our coffee service followed by breakfast. Helen's Suite has a queen size bed complete with featherbed and high threadcount linens. You will enjoy the sitting area or four-season porch with its fireplace, a loveseat pullout sofa sleeper and rocker, tv, vcr and glorious view of the garden area. This room does not have a whirlpool but has a two person walkin shower.

Leta's room is on the third floor and features a view of the backyard gardens and the bluffs of Red Wing. The newly remodeled bathroom now features a two-person whirlpool. This quaint but romantic room has a queen size bed, featherbed and high thread count linens. And because it doesn't have a tv, guests choose Leta's because it is the ideal way to spend quality time together to get connected or reconnected in a room that many people describe as "like a treehouse." A table and chairs allows breakfast to be served in your room if you choose.
