This Old House Bed and Breakfast

Our host, Mary Van, was delightful. Her home became our home for our 2 night stay. Her breakfast egg bake kept us full until the afternoon. She even sent us along with fruit and muffins!

Our stay was very enjoyable. Rooms were very comfortable, clean, and competitively priced. Mary Van, the proprietor, was the epitome of transplanted southern hospitality and a fascinating conversationalist. The full breakfast, catered to our special needs, was perfect. Highly recommend it.

Mary Van Sinek welcomes visitors into her home with all the southern charm of a North Carolina transplant. You are her guest and she makes sure your visit is as quiet or as busy as you want. The house is open and you are made to feel as if you have always been a part of it. Large, airy, spacious and filled with antiques, this home has all the warmth of home but with the attention of a diligent hostess. We would not want to stay anywhere else when visiting the Boston area.

Didn't see the problems that a couple of the other reviews had. Mary was as hospitable as could be and we enjoyed a wonderful house and host. All around, a beautiful stay.

My wife and I arrived at a beautiful home where upon Mary Sinek greeted us graciously. The accommodations were perfect and the breakfast was unbelievably good. We highly recommend Mary Van's B&B.

Cosy, warm, charming and just a touch of quirkyness, my old house makes for a delightful landing place just outside of Boston. The hospitality, food, and conversation are to be savored. The clean and delightful accommodations provide delightful respite.

We visited the B&B to attend our daughter's graduation. We really enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast was fantastic and we highly recommend this B&B!! It is even dog-friendly!

Mary and her 2 cocker spaniels were absolutely fantastic! The house was beautiful inside and out, as well as being in an upscale and quiet neighborhood. The room was as advertised and Mary couldn't have been nicer. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again. From what I saw, the negative comments were unwarranted and mean spirited.

My three children and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this B&B. Was so much nicer than a hotel. The rooms were very New England and quaint, something that brought me back to my days as a boy. It was very easy to get around the Boston area from this location. Would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

My husband and I ended a 24-day swing through New England with two wonderful nights at Mary Van's B&B. Mary was a most delightful innkeeper, our bed (the master suite) was very comfy and breakfast was delicious (the bacon was done to crispy perfection!). We felt perfectly at home during our stay and felt we were saying goodbye to a new friend when we left. Mary Van's TOH will be a certain destination if we get back to the Boston area again.

Best breakfast! Owner has southern charm, comfortable beds. Beautiful home with great taste in antique furniture; I had a relaxing time.

The stay exceeded my expectations.

We are avid watches of TOH. It was a joy to stay 4 days. Mary Vann was a gracious hostess. Food yummy and blueberry muffins great - have recipe. Cockers are wonderful. I definitely would recommend TOH.

I had a very pleasant stay. I chose to mark 'met my expectations,' for each category because that choice best described my experience, not because everything was merely ok. The house was not glamorous and the bed was just slightly firmer than I like, but I did enjoy the house. It's got a great history, and Mary Van is an interesting innkeeper (in a delightful way). I recommend it for the right traveler - those who don't mind a couple of well behaved dogs, and an old creeky house. For my $80 bucks a night, I was quite content.
