This is a charming, historic building and much care has been taken to make each room unique. I especially enjoyed the small details, such as a a bookshelf full of books in my room. The service was personal, warm and inviting. Although I was unable to participate in breakfast due to time restraints, I was grateful that coffee, tea and snacks are available 24/7 in a beautifully appointed dining room. Highly recommended!

This was an exceptional find. Easy for walking and transportation, beautiful rooms and entire building. Friendly and very helpful staff. It would have been nice to have a small television in the room, but the 4 day stay was well worth it.

The check-in process was easy on the first night of my stay. I was happy to be staying in an historic brownstone, and I was delighted to learn that the lovely Boston Public Garden was only a block away. I chose a single room with shared bath, which was the right choice for me. The room was small, but it was comfortable, and the decor was charming, the lighting ample. The closet was large, and there were enough hangers for a week's wardrobe in the closet. Even my large suitcase fit into the closet. The shared bath was very well appointed, and I was never inconvenienced. In fact, I rarely saw any of my fellow guests except at breakfast. The complimentary breakfast offers oatmeal, cereals, bagels, english muffins, peanut butter, hardboiled eggs, two juice choices, and nice coffee selections. I would have appreciated seeing small sauce dishes of fresh fruit available, too. The dining room has been carefully decorated, and cookies, coffee, and tea are available each afternoon. Donald works the front desk and was always very helpful, as were all staff. I enjoyed popping into Donald's office to say hello at the end of each day. Everything met my expectations, and I was very pleased with the location. Looking forward to my next visit!

Every floor, but the bathroom, creaks excessively. I was nervous to get up and use the bathroom during the night as I didn't wish to wake those below me. Not having a coffee maker in the bedroom was a bit rough, as you had to wait till 7:45 a.m. to get a cup downstairs. I had a time trying to check in, around 7 in the evening. The girl in the office sent me up to the dining room, where they sent me back downstairs and the girl in the office told me, again, that I needed to go up. I told her, for the second time, that I was just trying to check in as I had a reservation, she then "got it" and apologized. I was hauling my bags up and down and was just tired of it! Still, it was a taste of the old and I would consider staying again, knowing the way it works.

This was my 4th stay here in a single room for the Boston marathon. The single rooms share a bathroom with one other single room on the floor, and are small but nice. The double rooms are really large with their own bathroom and are incredible. Breakfast includes a variety of breads, yogurt, 2 cereals, orange and cranberry juices and a self serve coffee machine that grinds fresh beans for each cup! The morning of the marathon, the runners were exceptionally accommodated with very early breakfast offerings! Fresh baked cookies are provided in the evenings. Truly an exceptional place.

The room was wonderful - gave one the feel of old Boston and being part of a neighborhood. I would certainly recommend the College Club as an alternative to sterile hotel rooms. Also the neighborhood seemed safe and one could walk to great dining and shopping places.
