I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the inn. I was only there for one night for business in the area and wished it had been longer. The hospitality was the best and the breakfast in the morning was outstanding. There is nothing better than waking up to a yummy smell of breakfast. The inn and the surrounding area is a step back in time. It was quiet and peaceful. Fortunately It was recommended by a friend and I am glad she did. Highly recommend staying there.

My husband and I were absolutely delighted with this Inn. The antique painted and stenciled ceilings were magnificent, and the breakfast was fabulous and a work of art, without pretension. I enjoyed talking with Bob the Innkeeper and chef extraordinaire. He went out of his way to give us the history of the inn and to make our stay comfortable. Because the Inn was not fully booked when we stayed, Bob upgraded our room for free, which was a welcome surprise after a 90-mile bike ride that day.

We rolled into Chesapeake City on a Sunday evening when the street was full of visitors and a band was playing in the park. Needless to say there was no parking in front of the Inn. Luckily there are reserved spots for hotel guests adjacent to the house and park!! We felt like rock stars. The innkeepers were extremely hospitable and the room I booked, was the smallest - but the perfect size for two adults. The bathroom was almost as large as the room! (snug harbor). We enjoyed the waterfront dining at the Bayard, less than a block away. Drinks on the terrace at the Chesapeake Inn and taking a stroll around the historic neighborhood. What a great find!!! The historic house itself was nicely decorated and really took us back in time. The breakfast by Chef Bob was excellent and we enjoyed visiting with him and his wife and jack Russell Terrior during our short 1 night stay. Highly recommended!!!

We had a lovely stay at this historic B&B. Even on short notice, Bob & Carol were very accommodating, and the room was beautiful and clean. All of the antiques, the great breakfast, and the service made it very enjoyable.

But we really enjoyed our stay with Bob and Cagol. We. Were disapointed that not all the shops were open,Bob was alot of help on things ho see, do and to eat. Nice little B & B close to the water in a very nice area. The Innkeepers & their assitant were very nice & helpful people. Every morning the breakfast menu was changed and prepared from scratch. Everthing was fresh and tasted excellent. The rooms were a bit small but nicely arranged & furnished.(We did book the smallest rooms). I would highly recommend this B & B for anyone staying in the area.

In the heart of quaint Chesapeake City, MD the Inn at the Canal is a gem. Bob and Carol make everyone feel welcome and at home. Everything is clean and well kept, breakfasts are great and the service provided by Samantha is top notch. We've now stayed two consecutive years and would never hesitate to book again when in the area. Highly recommend. Mark Z.
