Our weekend stay at Alewives and Ales Bed & Breakfast was so enjoyable and relaxing. Going back to a slower pace of living, with beautiful flower beds, a vegetable garden, and quiet surroundings. Our room was immpecable and pleasantly decorated. All the rooms have original wide plank floors beautifully refinished and furnished with excellent taste. The house was built in the 1840's and fully restored in keeping with most of the originallity of that period. It is within walking distance of the quaint village of Damariscotta where there are several restaurants and gift shops. There is plenty to do in the area that include boat tours, museums , art galleries, botanical gardens, and seasonal festivals. Breakfast was elegantly served and most delicious. Our innkeepers truly were special, in making us comfortable throughout our stay. We look forward to staying at Alewives and Ales again during our next visit to Maine.

Beautifully remodeled old home in the very cute old riverfront town of Damariscotta. Spent two nights during tour of coastail Maine. Ask if they have any sausage bread with breakfast (I guess they don't always have it). Owner Ray "the maintenance man" also let us try some of his tasty homebrew out in the garage with his pals. Very interesting place.

We travel to Maine often and love staying at Alewives & Ales Bed & Breakfast. The innkeepers are wonderful and breakfast is always delicious. Damariscotta has a very charming village center within walking distance from the B&B and there are tons of area attractions and annual events like the Alewife Festival and the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta. Visit Damariscotta and stay at Alewives & Ales - it is fantanstic!

The innkeepers are very caring for the guests. The place is very quiet. Breakfasts are great! Very well situated to discover the Maine's coast.

Some days, the sun shines on you. I had to find lodging for 3 adults over Labor Day weekend to attend a family wedding. The first B&B's I called were unavailable due to the weekend, or a minimum 2 night's stay. When I called Alewives & Ales, they were able to suit my needs. When we opened the front door to enter, we were greeted with a marvelously restored entry. The Innkeeper greeted us and showed us our room. All through the house, the floors have been refinished, still wide plank with square head nails. The funishings of our room were luxurius, the bed (king) was like a cloud. Breakfast wowed us still, with fresh scones, fruit, omelets and sausage bread. The Innkeeper was able to spend time with us giving us the story of the home over the period when they have owned it. I am so so pleased that a ramdon selection of an Inn turned out to be such a gem. I highly recommend this B&B. I wish the owners good luck in their business.

Depuis le Sud. Prenez les je-95 Nord Lorsque vous consultez les signes de Gloucester, MA, déplacer vers la voie de droite et prendre la sortie vers Portsmouth, NH (95N). Continuer pendant environ 124 milles et prendre la sortie 44 à fusionner sur je-295 par le biais de Portland. Après environ 28 km, prendre la sortie 28 pour 1-us bain/Brunswick. Brunswick, n'oubliez pas qu'il y a un virage à gauche pour rester sur 1-us au Nord. Après environ 27 milles, sortie sur la route de la U.S.-1Business (ME Rtes 129/130). Porter à droite après la brique Congrégation église à Newcastle et traversez le pont en Damariscotta. Juste avant l'ensemble des lumières, prendre à droite sur la route de Bristol (Rtes 129/130). Continuer pendant 1/3 d'un mile et prendre à gauche sur la rue haute. Nous sommes # 22.

Tourner à droite au international Pkwy. Tourner à droite au Congrès St./Me-22/ME-9(signs for Portland/Airport exit). Après environ 2 km, fusionnez sur N je-295 via la rampe à Falmouth. Après environ 24 km, prendre la sortie 28 et suivez les instructions à la propriété.
