I had never stayed at a B&B before so wasn't sure what to expect. It way exceeded my expectations. The room, service and food were great. I would recommend the Cleftstone Manor to anyone.

This quaint B&B in Bat Harbor, is full of history. They have maintained much of the original house. The staff are very accommodating, the room was clean, as was the whole house. It is close enough to the tourist area, yet quiet. Br ask fast was 3 course, and afternoon appetizers, cold and hot drinks avaiable. I would definitely stay again

We celebrated our 35th anniversary with a trip to Bar Harbor. The Cleftstone Manor is a beautiful, historic B&B and we loved it! The food is excellent, from the evening snacks and drinks where the owner mingles with the guests, to the fabulous 3 course breakfasts. The breakfast include homemade jams & preserves from the owner herself. Everything was wonderful. Dianne & Ray

Thanks to owner Ann and her team of great assistants , my sisters and I again thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Cleftstone Manor. The inn is lovely, with public rooms that are inviting and comfy. The decor tends towards colonial (think heavy wood and patterned wallpaper), and the rooms range from small to very spacious, some with fireplaces. Innkeeper Ann is an excellent hostess, answering our questions ("where's the best lobster?"), cooking delicious breakfasts, and conversing over a glass of punch or wine. It's clear that she takes inn-keeping seriously. We stayed in the Waldrom Bates suite, on the third floor, the only room up there. Furnishings arestandard-issue and comfortable, with good space. Our large bathroom across the hall from our suite was equipped with a small shower and an old-fashioned soaking tub. Our suite had a bedroom (queen bed), a sitting room and a small LR with a double sofa bed and TV. Open the back door and enjoy the balcony, with a lovely piece of water view. It's almost within walking distance of Bar Harbor and it is perfectly situated next to an entrance to Acadia. Choose your entree (2 choices) the night before. Then start with deliciously prepared fresh fruit (peach one day, pear one day, mixed berries another). Entrees include eggs benedict, fruit pancakes, french toast, or opt for the yogurt parfait, a splendid layered affair of yogurt/berries. Bread (croissants, muffins, breads) and juice/coffee complete the meal. We enjoyed snacks on the sun porch at 5:30 (vegetable rollups, shrimp cocktail, meatballs) and cracked open a bottle of sangria that we brought. Ann’s usually in attendance, chatting with her guests, answering questions, and even telling a story or two (if you get her talking about her life). Note that guests can use the pools (indoor and outdoor) /hot tub at the adjacent hotel—a wonderful post-hike treat! Absolutely worth checking out. As is Acadia National Park, a hidden treasure.

Good recreational and meal recommendations; extremely friendly atmosphere. GREAT inn-dog, "Coco," a really friendly lovable cocker spaniel puppy. Breakfast is outstandinging, a lot of options and good service. The environment is nice and the hotel is like a home. The only problem is that my room has bad shades, the shades can't block the sun completely. Overall good quality
