Innkeepers demonstrated exceptional flexibility and accommodations. We arrived earlier than stated check-in time, but they had the doors open and made sure we felt welcome. Location is excellent, with Bar Island, Main Street, the free shuttle to Acadia National Park, and numerous other quaint streets and shops within walking distance. Coffee and other beverages always available, as well as snacks. Innkeepers were great references on local activities and had numerous local publications/references for guest perusal for planning adventures. Well-behaved, socialized dogs allowed to roam the house off-leash along with the innkeepers' dogs while we were on-premise--a treat after most B&Bs require dogs in crates or on leashes at all times. Great spot to stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Canterbury Cottage. It is well located a few blocks from the center of Bar Harbor and near to the bus stop where busses go around the area including Acadia. The breakfast was delicious. We had baked pears and a huge stack of pancakes! Our room, the Look Nook, while beautifully decorated, was a tight squeeze. Try to get one of the other rooms.

My two night stay at Canterbury Cottage exceeded expectations. Martha and Tim are very warm and welcoming hosts--and terrific cooks. The cottage feels like a part of the islands history while offering very contemporary and comfortable accommodations. Once I parked my car out front, I was able to leave it there and see everything I wanted to see on foot. However, I heard Tim and/or Martha educating other residents about island features and the best way to find them. I stayed in the pet friendly room, which, except for a sturdy bedspread, was as lovely as any other. Although I was with a very small dog, I would not have had to worry if I had been with a larger dog that opted to sneak onto the bed while I was sleeping. If I ever return to Bar Harbor, I know where I will be staying.

We recently spent 4 days up in Bar Harbor, ME and stayed at the lovely Cantebury Cottage B&B. We'd spent a while researching places, and finally settled on Cantebury Cottage because of their reviews, proximity to Acadia National Park and the fact that they allowed dogs. We were not disappointed! The home is adorable and walking distance to town and the water. When we arrived, Tim and their dog Clinton greeted us at the door with a smile! We instantly felt at home, and Tim offered to let our dog off her leash and explore the house. We stayed in the Sun Island room, which was decent size and had a private bathroom and TV which were great. Delicious breakfasts were served daily by Martha - so good! Tim and Martha both spent time each day going over maps and ideas with us, highlighting routes to take and giving plenty of suggestions. We loved having this home away from home for our quick little vacation. Tim and Martha are wonderful - and so are their dogs!!

Coming in as non-bar harbor natives the owners were very helpful and reliable on information regarding the area! Along with the knowledge they offered a wonderful, clean, and comfortable stay at a quite cute bed and breakfast. We would definitely stay here again and will in te future!
