Our 25th Anniversary getaway

Our 25th Anniversary was perfect as we stayed in the Donald Makay room. The window opened directly onto the ocean view, It was breath taking. The room was clean; the bed was very comfortable. The service was great. Randy was friendly, helpful in choosing a resturant; and went out of his way to assist with parking and making us comfortable, The only item to be aware of is the steps are not handicapped accesible for anyone in a wheel chair.

My husband and I loved the Neptune Room. The sunrise view was stunning. Randy directed us to many great restaurants on Cape Ann and he was a great host. The room has a million dollar view of the Atlantic Ocean.

Stayed for three nights with my wife. The view from our room-The Oriental-was spectacular...it felt as if we were on a cruise. It felt as if we were in the water. Randy greets you and enlightens you on all things Rockport, from things to see to where to dine. He proved to be right on all counts. The continental breakfast at the Rockport Inn was more than we expected...awesome. On the negative side, Randy should invest in a canteen where guests could grab a cold water or soda without having to drive to the Cumberland Farms. Overall, this has been the best B&B we have ever visited...the best!

The view was remarkable, especially the sunrise. I don't think we could have been closer to the ocean. The room was nice and Randy was very accomodating. We would definitely stay again.

This bed and breakfast was in a beautiful location, the cliff and ocean views were gorgeous. Prices were also excellent. We had a woulderful time and are planning on going to the Quarterdeck again next year. Randy Marks the InnKeeper was very nice.

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Quarterdeck and by the 4th day WE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE!! The view of the ocean is fantastic, the rooms clean and tidy, and Randy was an outstanding host. We are looking forward to visiting again soon!!!!!!!

The Quarterdeck Inn was a perfect spot for two Mom's looking for a one night getaway from the responsibilities of everyday life. We had a magnificent room overlooking the ocean and Randy was an excellent host. The coffee was fresh, room sparkling and clean, and the scenery spectacular. Wish we could have stayed longer!

I felt like I was in another world. I have never stayed in a room closer to the water in my life. It was incredible. You would have thought you were on a boat in the middle of the sea. We were lucky--it was stormy. The waves were breaking so loudly against the rocks and the wind was fierce. It was truly a paradise to be had right here in Rockport.
Our room was just incredible. Windows all around the ocean. I didn't even want to close my eyes to sleep.
The room was very clean and neat. The owner, Randy, was exceptionally polite, helpful, and very pleasant. The only problem we had was that there was no food anywhere in the inn or bottles of water. I think if Randy could somehow put a small table and small refrig. in the entrance hall to his place he could put bottles of water and juice for morning and even some bowls for cold cereal.It would make a big difference for those who want something for a quick breakfast. Randy even offered to bring us a mini refrig. though we declined. That was our fault. I will be back there in the autumn I hope in the same extraordinary room. I have never had a better, more enjoyable time in my life. Please go!!! It's truly an experience.

The Quarterdeck Inn is absolutely beautiful. I took my husband away for his birthday. We had a wonderful time. The rooms were beautifully decorated. The staff were great. Very pleasant and restful atmosphere. Randy is the inn keeper/owner. He is a great host. Thank You Randy for a wonderful weekend. We plan on comming back. The Griffiths'

Have been staying at these rooms on and off for the last 25 years (previously as the Yankee Clipper Inn.) This time I chose to stay at the Quarterdeck because I love the views from these rooms. The good news is the views are still fantastic.
The bad news is that the rooms and the service have taken a turn for the worse with the new management. The room I stayed in had several problems including: jacuzzi did not work, problems with tv, light bulb out. The next morning we were given a new room which was in much better shape.
However, the next morning (check out morning with 11:00 checkout time), at 11:01, Randy knocked on the door and demanded we leave. I informed him we would be out shortly but he stayed in the room until we moved our suitcases out. It was uncomfortable and ungrateful given the problems with the room the previous day.
I doubt I will return. (and I will miss the view.)

I would like to write a rebuttal regarding a review that was recently written about the Quarterdeck Inn By The Sea. A guest who stayed with us made some comments about us that I feel are unjust and untrue. When a guest checks in, they are given my cell number and instructed to call me if a problem arises. We do not live in a perfect world. Light bulbs burn out and items breakdown,all the time. If the guests had called me I would have addressed their issues right away. The next day they informed me that the light bulb burned out, the jaccuzzi didn't work and the tv wasn't working properly. I offered the guests a different room of which they accepted. I then proceeded check out their issues with the room. A tripped circuit breaker prevented the jaccuzzi from working. After resetting the breaker the jaccuzzi worked fine. There was nothing wrong regarding the tv that I could find. And yes I changed the light bulb. Our check out time is 11am. We need to clean the room and get it ready for the next guest I don't understand the issue here. The guests knew that the checkout time was 11am. After 11am, I informed them that it was after our checkout time. They informed me that they needed more time to get their belongings together. I told them that was fine. I never entered the room, as a matter of fact I walked down to the office. These people were just taking advantage of us. We were never rude to them. In my rebuttal, I am not trying to appear defensive. I want to inform the public of what really happened
