The Vineyard Square is in a perfect location in one of the most charming towns in New England... It is centrally located with easy walking distance to many shops, restaurants and pubs. The small rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. We were in a third floor partial harbor view queen room and it had all the amenities as promised. Two major downfalls of the hotel - 1) there is NO PARKING. If you have your own vehicle on the island, you will end up parking in a lot 1 mile from the hotel - accessibility is only by bus or on foot (no courtesy hotel car/van). And 2) the weather in August is quite enjoyable in MV and sitting outdoors with a beverage is a pleasure to do as you rest and talk away the night. This was almost impossible to do as the two spots to do so are either on the fourth floor veranda with about 6 rocking chairs and a "closing" hour at the early hour of 9pm (strictly enforced) and on their front porch - which also is home to a popular restaurant, which uses the porch as a "waiting" area for restaurant goers - leaving no space for PAYING hotel guests to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Both spots are too small to tend to the number of rooms in this hotel. We've stayed many years at a nearby hotel and thought we'd change it up a bit and do something different - big mistake as we were quite disappointed in ourstay and will not be returning to the VS.

I couldn't believe the awesome location of this hotel. Right in downtown Edgartown walkable to everything! My husband and I went on a quiet weekend in late April just after they opened and the staff couldn't have been any nicer. Especially Joanne, who is a doll. Visit and ask her anything about the island and she knows! What a font of information. The newly renovated rooms were spacious and clean with a cheery decor. Ours, which was a standard room, was quite spacious. I'm looking forward to going back when it is warm enough to hang out on the porch overlooking the front square and watch the world go by.

Nous aimons/ nos loisirs:
f you've visited our Edgartown Hotel before, you may already know (or at least remember) Joanne Sardini. She holds the record (by far!) for the most visitor compliments and her sweet Scottish lilt has enhanced many a guests' vacation. Joanne took over as General Manager in 2012. After 11 years with Vineyard Square Hotel & Suites, Joanne knows the hotel and the island inside and out. She, her husband Paul, and puppy Dunbar live "on-island" year round.
